Probably. Adaptations like to make the Kansai accent a Southern accent.

Typically, yeah. The only exception that comes to mind is Labrys in the Persona 4 Arena games, where they went with more of a Jersey accent.

I've said it many times before, but this is very tame in comparison to the original manga (& I guess the movie, but the nudity there was meant to be more "symbolic" & stuff).

I still get why it can seem distracting/out of place, but it doesn't bother me as much when I know the source material + mangaka is much more fanservicey.

I still need to watch 2nd Gig since I've only seen bits of episodes and random episodes in general. Just like Stand Alone Complex. I was just too young to get into it.

Hmm. Yeah I think I agree, although I like how things come together in 2nd Gig and I think Kuze and Gouda were some of the best antagonists of all time.
