The "Both sides" argument continues...

I'm honestly trying to figure out how this is supposed to work. What I mean is let's just play along for a moment and assume that the accusation is true. Every word of it. Sure, let's look into it and if there was any wrongdoing then by all means prosecute. But really, who cares? John Podesta? The Clintons? Why would this be a bigger, more pressing matter than the current investigation?

Zerohedge is garbage.

lol zerohedge, get outta here
Ah ok. I still do wonder about the claims though. The main thing is that Trump doesnt seem to understand that most sensible people don't have unwavering loyalty to politicians rather its Hillary or even Obama. He thinks that trying to shine the spotlight on them will get him out of hot water but it just makes the case for a fuller investigation which his team seems to be desperately trying to avoid.

Excuse me?

The Trump administration sought to block former acting attorney general Sally Yates from testifying to Congress in the House investigation of links between Russian officials and Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, The Washington Post has learned, a position that is likely to further anger Democrats who have accused Republicans of trying to damage the inquiry.

This is kinda my point. He's deflecting like people are actually trying to protect Hillary or something. By all means, investigate them all.
Led by Comey, don't get your hopes up.
People have to stop this Comey bashing. There's not many good reasons to question his loyalty.

Maybe, but I have a feeling there was a larger stake at play.

Agreed. As much as I know folks here would have preferred Comey not acting the way he did and having Hillary as President right now, it seems like Comey was forced to make the play that he did... and considering how far spread the Russia ties seem to be in the GOP right now, even beyond Trump's own team, it may actually be the right call on Comey's part anyway.

If Comey hadn't said anything and Trump had lost the election, you can bet that the GOP would have blasted him immediately for not bringing up the Hillary thing and used that as means to delegitimize his investigation into Trump's campaign and thus any further Russian ties to the GOP.

Nunes just played dumb walking through a hall with reporters all around.

"Ask the democrats these questions"
"Nothing has been cancelled"
"You guys are just speculating"
"Why wouldn't I stay on as chair?"
"I've already answered those questions"

Surreal.

Link??

It's the last two paragraphs in the Washington Post article linked in your quote:

Yates' lawyer then sent a letter Friday to the White House lawyer, McGahn, saying that any claim of privilege ”has been waived as a result of the multiple public comments of current senior White House officials describing the January 2017 communications. Nevertheless, I am advising the White House of Ms. Yates' intention to provide information.''

That same day, the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, Devin Nunes, announced he would not go forward with the public hearing that was to feature Yates' testimony.

Well with this new deflection it's pretty obvious that the House investigation is beyond recovery. GOP is digging in their heals so no hope of Nunes removal from the committee and no hope of an independent investigation.

I'm not worried about Comey or the other intelligence agencies with this. Trump has directly attacked them all with insane lies. I imagine at this point Comey wants nothing more in the world than to bring down this corrupt, inept joke of an administration.

Comey is doing his investigation and that is it. This bullshit in the House is all Nunes and Trumps team.

answering questions with questions.

he's guilty.

I really can't believe that there's nothing whatsoever that the Democrats can do about this insane blatant corruption right in our faces. It shouldn't even be up to Ryan or any other Republican leader at this point, Nunes should step down and an independent council should be heading this investigation.

The American people can't do anything until the Democrats take control of the House/Senate/both in two years. Unless there's a miracle, we'll be suffocating in this lunacy.
