Alright crash course
So you know the basics of tower protection and how to MOBA by your sayings in you post
Don't take it the wrong way, your way behind the curve...
Anyone catch up with time, but it's best to grind a little bit out to set yourself up for PvP
Don't rush into PvP, go do Co-Op, yes it's Bots (they do put up a fight and show effort at least)
You have an Account level, it goes all the way to 50. That is the max, no prestige.
While your Account level goes up, you'll be rewarded with coins (used to buy stuff from store), reputation (currency used to buy card packs and Masteries), chests (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Diamond. Inside each are random rewards that bolster all the game currencies), deck slots (you card sets for your Heroes)
Cause your new, you won't automatically have multiples of cards needed to make decks to really make your Hero shine. There are Basic sets all players can use from beginner and intermediate.
What you want to do is pick a few Heroes you find interesting. Their "Kit", either you like killing from afar or up close as a Brawler, each has Pros and Cons.
Pick say 4 Heroes you like. Then add them into your rotation.
Now go play Co-Op. There's a draft, your team picks by descending order, sometimes your Hero might get picked before you, don't fret or quit, just pick another Hero in your rotation. It's highly unlikely all 4 choices you wanted get picked before your turn unless your last pick and somehow everyone else picked everyone you wanted to play lol.
Pick a deck, follow the steps, learn how the card system works.
Each card has a value, most are 3 point cards that can be slotted with 3 more equipment cards. Some cards once you max them out with equipment cards grant you a bonus. Some cards are Passive, some are Active, those require you to press one of the directional buttons if on (PS4). You can have up to 4 active max, 6 passive max.
Example a Fury Card, Madstone Gem (Passive) is a 2 point card, it gives 12 power, now you can slot in equipment cards into it. If you have multiple equipment cards you can slot in the smallest or biggest amount. So you want to reach Madstones Bonus of 5.5 Attack Speed quick, so you slot in 3 +1 Strike cards, so you can have a total of 5 CXP used and gain roughly 30 power + 5.5 Attack speed for that CXP
CXP is your yellow meter that fills up by 1 every so often after certain actions. Getting last hit on minions transfers these orbs to you filling up your meter. Killing enemies nets you the most. There's minions in stationary positions that are referred to as the Jungle, where the jungler goes kill those Minions to fill up your teams link, and slowly over time every 15 secs, your CXP meter will fill up by how much your Jungler is jungling and helping the team out. You can have a max of 60 CXP. That's the cap, 6 slots for cards, so you can 6 cards 10 points each or say 4 cards 15 points each. Most always say go 6 cards with variations on the cards, just make sure it adds up to 60!
There's also a Blue Meter next to your abilities, that's your Hero level for the game, max over here is 15. Each Ability can be leveled up 4 time, except your ultimate which is 3 only, if you add it up equals 15. You can pump the same Ability twice in a row before it can not be leveled again until you put a point into another Ability, then you get access to it again (this is to not having a Hero be maxed out on 1 Ability by Hero level 4).
Right now your main priority is to learn the game, the Heroes you like, and slowly build up the different currencies this game uses.
Reputation is the one that will take time, but it will come over time.
Remember we have 31 Heroes so far, that means, if you level all 31 Heroes to level 5 at least, would net yourself 62 Silver Chest and 62 Card packs!
From level 1-5 all Heroes rewards are unlocked, it's after Hero level 5, once you hit 6 you need to have their Mastery unlocked to net the rewards of 3 Diamond Chests, an Emote, and the elusive Master Skin.

No, it says, with Founder's pack (PS4) you will get all present and future heroes, essences (can't remember how many), Fernando items and 10 Chests.
When i've bought the pack, i've gotten all except for chests: it gave me 1 instead of 10.
(Sorry for my poor english)
Is it possible that you've bought the Paladins, not Paragon Founders Pack?

Really interested in this hero though. Want to see how the blind mechanic works. Also they can pull allies? Sounds like the kind of support this game needs. More skill based Supports that can save allies by changing their position.

I don't dodge at all though lol, that's why it's so weird. I can main with a lot of heros, never have a reason to dodge.

A lot of my confusion comes up with the cards. I think this is because (I figured out after my posts last night) that all that customization stuff was locked until I was a certain level. So everything is happening automatically when i recall and it's not really teaching me anything. Points vs CXP, power and its relative value, etc -- all a blur still.

When I started back last July with PS+ promotion, I was confused like, the fuck is this?
Why are some people have these cards I have no access to or how come they have minor strike times a bajillion while I have only 1-2 to my name
Remember your main priority is what your role is
If your a Carry (Damage) you want to be more powerful before everyone else, other side and your team
Support are there to get you quicker "online" meaning they give up last hits and cover you with cards that you shouldn't have to, so you feed quicker
Brawlers are just up close and knock your teeth in kind of playstyle. They either can be Tank or Jungler mainly.
Right now if your ok with this, don't touch PvP at all
Play against Bots, may sound boring to you, but I'm a desiccated PvE player, have roughly 1125 games of it played. I just enjoy making decks, seeing the differences and the bots as I said are good at annoying you from reaching thresholds quicker.
Grab 2-4 Heroes level up them to 5
Learn how theyre meant to be played. Earn their rewards, don't worry about Mastery (75,000 Reputation).
Earn those Silver Chests and Card packs
Log in Daily for Bonus reward (remember it's 22 hours countdown, so you get stuff 2 hours earlier next day if you can keep the timing, if not try to login within a certain time frame everyday say within 24 hours to keep getting free stuff)
Also every game you earn stars, these are a new currency to fill up your Star Chest over 3 days (72 hours)
PvE is easiest cause it nets you a win 99.9%, you earn 2 stars + bonus stars. PvP you earn more, sometime games are longer, so up to you.
To level up star Chest you need 15 Stars to go from Bronze to Silver, 35 Stars from Silver to Gold, 60 Stars from Gold to Diamond. So a total of 110 Stars needed within 72 hours. If you average 4 Stars per game that's 25 games!
Here's the thing, there's the Daily Quests, 3 daily quests you can complete to get a boost to your star accumulation.
Theyre very easy, most can be done in 1 match or 3 the most.
If you finish all 3 daily quests over 3 days, you'll get rewarded +10 bonus stars, so 3 days = +30 Stars. Also those 3 Daily Quest also reward you with stuff sometimes stars, coins, rep, or card material.
For you if you can hit Gold or Diamond every 3 days it will be worth it cause you'll get chunks of different currencies in this game to use and catch up quicker, up to you!
Also if you earn any of the lower 3 tier chests of Bronze, Silver, or Gold, you might get "Lucky!" and earn a Chest inside that Chest, "Chestception"
So if you open a Bronze it might have a silver which you open might have a Gold which you open might have a Diamond Chest, fun stuff!
So yeah TL;DR, play PvE, learn stuff slowly, play a few games everyday hopefully say 3-5 if possible, would be roughly 2-3 hours total time, keep earning rewards and bonuses. Accumulate!, worry about spending when you have a small stockpile. Right now just be a hoarder and let stuff be earned.
Then when your good, know the ins and outs, understand the game properly, unleash your stockpile on 1-2 Heroes and buy or craft cards for their decks, unlock their Masteries, use coins for their skins or Emote or whatever you likey

I know this isn't a priority or anything but a dof slider would be awesome in the theater mode. I go there to take alot of screens for the console screenshot thread and sometimes there is dof, other times there isn't. I have no idea what triggers it but it would be dope to be in control of it.
