But HSF2 isn't ST. Because ST is god. ST is life.
ST is overstated and the changes made in HSF2 are for the better
Gotta save something for the next SF2 re-release
HSF2 appreciation, VF avatar. You're my kind of people hikarutilmitt.
The original Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo didn't have the bonus stages either.
Man this is one of the biggest bummers ever. I am tired of SFII and would never buy it again, but if this was a colelction of SFIII or Alpah? I'd be there day 1.
Why is SFII getting so much love? I didn't even like the original release of this remake/remaster.
Maybe I'll bite if under $10
This game is going to bomb hard, and deservedly at that price point. What are they thinking*?
*Assumed for the sake of argument.
I go where I am needed.
And sometimes places I'm not needed. Or wanted. Or actively not wanted to be at.
That and, frankly, I'm kind of serious. I love ST even with its flaws (same as I love 3S) but HSF2 made so many good changes that kind of needed to be made, IMO, that I don't understand why it never went to become "the" SF2 game for tournaments. It doesn't quite do away with some of the series' more ridiculous things, but those are mostly engine-wide and changing them changes the game.
After the sales of Super Bomberman R it isn't crazy to expect it to move some units at the current price.
USF2 might show up at some tournaments this year which might encourage some long tail sales.
They can always lower the price if it bombs.
I think sadly those with the loudest voices didn't want to have to learn a new game and have their dominance challenged by new ideas and a new influx of people who were finally able to play an acceptable version of SF2 on a mainstream console instead of having to keep around a Dreamcast and a CD-R of SSF2X or be in an area with an active arcade scene.
Well, I'm still waiting for a decent comparison of the PS4 and Switch versions of Disgaea... so until I figure out if I wanna get that, I'll probably just pick this up on Friday. I know it's overpriced. I don't care.
Maybe USFII could get some side tournament action, but I wouldn't expect a major esports push for USFII with SFV still being a thing. After the sales of Super Bomberman R it isn't crazy to expect it to move some units at the current price.

The game plays well on Switch. The only difference is resolution, I believe.
It's not crazy to expect that but I'm personally not optimistic. This one's got the smell of death about it. I'm not sure why a casual player would opt for this when they could get Minecraft, Thumper, or a bushel of SNK fighters for less. There's also high-end FG competition from Injustice 2 on competing platforms. I just don't see the hype for this one anywhere.
But yeah if they drop the price, it'll probably do all right in the end. I know I'll reconsider getting it. It's still SF2 at the end of the day.

It's sad because there's still not really what most would consider a perfect port of ST. The DC version was kind of close, but even that had some weird crap in it.I think sadly those with the loudest voices didn't want to have to learn a new game and have their dominance challenged by new ideas and a new influx of people who were finally able to play an acceptable version of SF2 on a mainstream console instead of having to keep around a Dreamcast and a CD-R of SSF2X or be in an area with an active arcade scene.
Those people didn't like the actual PS2 port of Super Turbo that came out a couple of years later either.
and animate worse than MK
3. You meant to tell me that 2 new characters ..... are a waste?
Me 3 months ago: I'll probably pick this up because I'll be starved for games
Me now: OMG I have so much to play I'm probably gonna pass
Anyone else feel similarly?

Yup they diddid the remix the tunes again or am i misremembering what it sounded like? that character select doesn't sound good
Well yeah, it's still SF2 animation frames
Even if it does get some side tournament action, I wouldn't expect Capcom to mention it all that much. They already have one, soon to be two, major modern fighting games to push in the competitive scene. Also fair, though I would assume side action would be a given since this is the only "newish" fighter available on Switch.
Capcom gotta make up a convenient excuse for not supporting the Switch in the future.
"durr hurr switch owners didn't even buy fucking street fighter, clearly they only want nintendo games"
Is there a country where it is priced cheaper? Best place I found so far is amazon.co.jp again, at 37.
SFIV 3D was on sale a lot so there is that. Hopefully that means maybe in 6 months many can pick it up for much cheaper digitally.
The games not going to bomb.
What's the best, latest Streetfighter game to get if SFV is a disappointment? My last game was Super Streetfighter IV. Is this, and Ultra SFIV worth it? Or is SFV worth a shot?
SFV is a great game hamstrung by interminable loading times and overpriced DLC.
The main game is dirt cheap, you should buy it.
Definitely buying this.
Portable ST is something I"m up for.
.What's the issue with the Pro Controller? I was gonna use that for the game.:/
Ok, I'm not buying it. I love Street Fighter, but this game is so expensive.
But the biggest problem isn't the price, but the content.
HSFII for PS2 have OST from CPS1, CPS2 or 3DO available - this version have only CPS2 and weird remixes.
The worst part for me is the sound effects, they are insanely bad. So the new style options isn't viable because the sound effects are shit. (in HSFII the sound effects were based on CPS-I if you choose a character version from SFII ~ SFIIT or CPS-II if its from SSFII or SSFIIT).
HSFII also had different styles for each character. Ok, this made the game unbalanced, but c'mon, instead of creating these two new characters that nobody asked, they could made alternative versions from each character (like KOF 98). Could be "Ultra" and "Classic" versions.
Boy, even the opening is trash, they used that classic Ryu sprite + a brand new Evil Ryu's ilustration that is new and not made in pixel art. This is bullshit, it's poor, it's just lazy.
The biggest problem for me is that I would play with old style (graphics + sound) all the time, and 40 dollars for this? no thanks.
(and I would be wishing playing with CPS-I OST).
