Kinda crazy to think that we are 5k away from a new studio.

Of course that 5k might as well be 20k. But still.

50k was a pipe dream when EZA first started. Was never going to happen. "How the hell do you make 50k on Patreon? Impossible".

But fuck me, its close.

I can definitely see year 3 them being 50k consistently.

And to think, they were happy with 10k, haha.

I've fallen off EZA a bit in that I pretty much only listen to the podcasts and don't catch any streams (last was the Outlast playthrough), but got dam I'm excited for E3 coverage.

You don't have a hall of greats without, y'know, putting the greats in. I was entertained throughout and 2 deserving games got in. Although if Final Fantasy 7 isn't even nominated next time, screw 'em!
They could've started with them there.

Blood is secretly one of the best Allies at comedy, because he does silly things with such unwavering seriousness. Case in point the Earthbound video.
Personally he makes me cringe more than the rest because I respect him more lol.

I'm enjoying the HoG streams even though we're still in the beginning of the process of getting all of the shoe-ins in, but maybe if there's a big enough outcry they'll do a mass induction of some sorts? Majority vote from a list created by all nine or something?

Nah, I like the discussions on the actual greats. So if that gets put to Patreon, I shall anti-outcry, ha.

I want to see how it shakes out in 5 years. I'm in for the long haul.

I'm a big podcast fan, and I've really been getting into Easy Allies recently. They're wonderful!

So far, I'm listening to the main podcast, Zelda Talk, and Friend Code. But I have a question: what are their other podcast offerings? I browsed the "Shows" section of their site, but it was hard to tell which shows are video only, and which are also in podcast form. And are there discussions about new podcasts being added in the future? It sounds like Friend Code was recently added due to a stretch goal.

Frame Trap, which is their longer fortnightly podcast that is less news focused, talking about what games they're playing now. RSS: http://feeds.soundcloud.com/users/soundcloud:users:217517146/sounds.rss

Reaction Shots for movies. EZAnime for anime. These are monthly.

Tabletop is also available as a podcast, but as it's story based, you may need to start from the start on that one.

Fantastic - who are the main members for Frame Trap and Reaction Shots?

Ben hosts Frame Trap and Huber is almost always there with the other two seats rotating between the other allies (and an outside guest one time!)

Reaction Shots is Ian and Huber and a guest

EZANime I've never listened to, but I think it's Ben and Brad and another seat too?

Thanks Hasney! I really appreciate the information. I'm not super familiar with Ben or Ian yet, but if I grow to like their personalities enough from the main podcast, I'll give these two shows a try.

Bosman v. Wozniak is basically a podcast for Kyle's weird bits but it's also ending soon

Speaking of Tabletop

what a delightful, "take a breath" episode 59 is
every character gets some rest
lots of great conversations
"I'm not strong enough"
positions the plot on a clear trajectory
Puffs! Puffs! We are Puffs!

They have two tabletop shows available as podcasts as well.

Tabletop Escapades is a Dungeons and Dragons campaign with Ben (DM), Brad, Kyle, Huber, and Ian, it comes out every Wednesday.

Fiasconauts is run by Ian, who is usually accompanied by Kyle, Jones, and a guest (not sure if Kyle and Jones are locks but they've been in every episode so far). This one comes out the last Friday of every month (and each episode is a totally new story so no worries about catching up)

I've never played, listened to, or watched DnD or any other tabletop game before these two shows but they're honestly one of my favorite things EZA does. They are SO good.

Edit: Whoops, I missed the Tabletop mention in Hasney's post, thought this would all be new information. Oh well!

I've already kind listened to about 30 episodes of The Adventure Zone, another D&D podcast, and I don't really like it (despite that show getting high praise). I'm not sure if Tabletop Escapades would be for me, but Fiasconauts sounds interesting. What's it about?

You might should give Tabletop Escapades a shot. It's very character acting focused and while they do get into battles and combat it's much more character misadventures than anything. Ben is an amazing DM and The crew does great RP. And Huber is always the wildcard that takes things in unexpected directions.

Fiasconauts is essentially an improv game. Each episode is standalone and they take a scenario establish relationships and a light framework and go nuts.

This is a good one to get started with IMO. It's still my favorite.

nope. the eza hype for Arms seems to be really low

I would wonder if they'll have more talk about it next week after they stream the testpunch. Though I do think it's also because Blood is the major supporter for ARMS in the group so him not being there certainly hurt the chances for the conversations steering to that.

I think the hype went down when Kyle basically broke it to Huber that Arms is Wii Boxing 2 with regards the motion controls etc.

So I know I've been very critical in this thread about the Allies, and unfortunately I didn't have time to respond to some comments directed back at me (especially from Ben) as I was crazy busy, but seeing them so close to 45K, I'm checking patreon everyday and if in 3-4 days we're sitting at 44850 or more I'll definitely sub back for the month to get them past the threshold. I can't sub much, maybe 20 dollars max and it would be a one-time sub, but it'd be great seeing them hit that so they can do E3 trailer scores.

On the note of criticism again, just watched the FFXII video along with last week's podcasts and again have confirmed that unfortunately the Allies views on games are drifting further and further apart from my own making me less and less inclined to be checking them out as I'm screaming at the TV now in disagreement 80% of the time. Stuff like FFXII has a great political story or that each character develops very well in the game is just perplexing for me.

Also Huber likes the feeling of a party and not of a main character and loves when a game keeps its own dictionary without explaining it overtly but still dislikes FFXIII

After Kyle recommended Links Awakening to the Hall Of Greats it got me interested since I have never played a top down Zelda game, should I start at Awakening or Link to The Past?

Kinda crazy to think that we are 5k away from a new studio.

I can definitely see year 3 them being 50k consistently.

And to think, they were happy with 10k, haha.

They just need maybe 2 really solid in-between goals, and I could genuinely see them getting there. Maybe a $46,000 goal and a $48,000 goal. After that, people would be like, "well, I mean, they're so close now that I might as well pledge/up my pledge."

Im hoping after E3 the coverage during and after will bump it up.

The better one. #KyleIsRight

Edit: Just remember that they plan to only go forward with the studio if they can keep steady with the numbers. Don´t expect the studio a month or two after hitting the goal.
