Fargo - Season 3 - Brothers, Bridge, and Backstabbing in 2010 Minnesota - Wed on FX

Recently caught up and while I don't like the show as much as s1 or s2, I still find it entertaining and different enough from most of what's on TV.

The shot of Yuri with the wolf mask coming after Nikki was great.

Emmet really is a terrible criminal, even with the coaching from Varga.

Poor Sy, his world just isn't right anymore.

-He was probably already in the library, didn't break in only after cop left. Probably broke in while the station was closed previously.

-St Cloud police literally have probably never seen an attempt like that, still don't know what was in the syringe, and yeah sometimes electronics do temporarily have issues. It's not weird for them to be confused by a potential elaborate conspiracy.

-Emmit had to leave the scene of the crime immediately to establish an alumni.

-Emmit was over eager in trying to establish that alibi, was clearly somewhat drunk, and likely in a state of shock from just killing his brother.

-Varga knows that Nikki can point a finger at his goons so it's better to just kill her to minimize any possibility of blowback. He also knows that she can point to a feud between emmit and Ray about the stamp, so it would basically make Ray a viable suspect if that whole plot is discovered, which obviously Vargas doesn't want.

The most unrealistic thing is that the prison bus did not have a police cat escort in case something happened to the bus. That oversight was worth it though imo for the action and surprise of the scene, and intrigue if Nikki can get out of it. Imo at least.

Basically nothing you said is actually contrived though. If you don't think cops tend to just stick with a suspect even if there is compelling evidence of another suspect I don't know what to tell you. It's how people get wrongfully convicted all the time.

alibi ;)

I haven't started watching this season (going to binge it like the last two times) but is this true? If so, fuck....*looks at avatar* it seems all anthologies are destined to become shit at some point

No, it's not. Seems like people love holding S1 and S2 in such high regard and downplay this one in comparison, while, for me, they're all pretty good and original, and with the same quality. Im liking this one far more than 2, actually, which i found disappointing at times

THis season may be my favorite so far.

I don't think 1 is as great as people remember, and 2 was very good but had some sublimely shit writing at points. This has some dumb low points too but the overall plot is engaging to me.

This is nothing like season 2 of True Detective, it's not as good as season 1 or 2, but it still pretty good.

Why does Shea Whigham always get stuck playing these big dumb asshole characters? His role in Fargo has got to be the worst offender yet. The guy with the syringe would have had to have run right fucking past him and he still thinks it's all fake news.

He has one of those faces for an asshole character I guess.

He will be redeemed as Light's cop dad in the Death Note movie.

Oh yeah, he was the asshole chief in Agent Carter too. Lol

He was a measured preacher in True Detective
A lovable father in law in Vice Principals

He has had a decent amount of variety

I think it started with American Crime Story, where they used one or two (I think?), then Atlanta came and used multiple. I think USA allows them too with Mr. Robot. I guess the advertisers that they get for those shows either dont care anymore, or never did.

You gotta wonder what kind of advertiser would have issues with "fuck" but not with tampons in desk drawers. Hopefully more and more shows start using fuck so we can stop bleeping it, it kinda blows my mind that at some point "shit" used to be bleeped, too.

So the police offer had trouble getting into the area where the chick was being held. But after the scene, where the police officer sits on the toilet, somehow she is in the area with a gun to prevent the guy from stabbing the chick with a syringe. How exactly did that happen?

Syringe guy was dressed up as a cop, he probably convinced the guy at the desk to go on a break or whatever and went in to do his thing, and Gloria Burgle (lady cop) went in to investigate once she walked by and didn't see front cop guy. Its a bit of a stretch, but the only way it works. Its a little iffy given that you could literally see the cell from the outside area.

The whole flaw is that it made zero sense for syringe guy to even be there, if they went to the trouble of framing her that should have been enough. No cop is gonna believe any story of "CRAZY RUSSIANS BEAT ME THEY PROBABLY KILLED RAY" until, you know, they get proof of third parties involved. Just another point though for the bad guys being pretty terrible this season.

I wonder what the payoff will be with the chief not setting off motion detectors and having trouble using the radio. You just know they're going to pull some kind of supernatural thing.

I finally caught up on the last two episodes and after that ending to episode seven I can't wait for tonight. This show continues to be great. Michael Stuhlbarg and David Thewlis continue to steal the season, they're both so good.
