TEKKEN 7 |OT| How I killed your mother

Stick control is great for DND sidescrollers confirmed.

Makes sense then, seeing as Shadow Over Mystara came out in the arcades. So many quarters. Good times.

That 90s nostalgia tho.

Just be ready to go to arcades and wonder why your IWR combos aren't working because the stick is mushy...

SFV netcode code can be hit or miss, but when it's working it's really good, it actually handles long distance games way Better than Tekken 7.

This is definitely not true. I can play people in eu in T7(PC), while east coast to west coast games in SFV are hit or miss

Anyone have a good entry-level (read, less than $100) stick they like?

My old hori FS3 is bound for the great parts bin in the sky and I'm debating between the Mayflash F300 (tighter stick, larger base, but you have to pass through a ps4 controller) and the Qanba Drone (slightly smaller and lighter, stick is looser, but it's a fully authorized PS4 controller).

Man, our arcade was great. They would clean and replace it on the spot. Kept spare parts in the storage.
Ours were run by stoners and Breaking Bad types. They were cool when it came to responding to complaints etc, but the atmosphere was 50 shades of shady.

Einsteins was tiny (where Namco decided to have the 99 TTT1 regionals for some reason). So tiny a single fart could clear the joint.

Le Fun, 2 blocks down, was the one that had the living carpet.

Powerplay arcade at the mall/dorms across the street was always empty and got the games 2 months later.

All 3 were guaranteed to have something wrong with the cabinets. One had an issue with buttons not working. Another one had the 1p or 2p side sticks broken. The remaining one had the bum who hadn't showered since the last president, digging around for dropped quarters.

Yea. Those were the days.

Oh. And I had to walk past the Scientology center if I ever wanted to switch arcades.

Lots of crossing the street back then. Yep.

Probably not what you want to hear, but I would stick it out with your FS3 for a little longer and save another $100 for a high quality stick.

So I've been searching pools for a good amount of time and I don't think I saw a single Akuma. Were the nerfs that bad for his popularity?

I'm playing Tekken for a couple of weeks now (since release) and there are still some annoying things that probably could easily be fixed:

- controller settings will not be saved across different game modes (S1 sets his controlls in versus mode, has to do it again in training)
- no controller settings for S2 in training mode: S1 can open the control options and there is even a "Player 1" headline and space to right on the screen, but there seems to be no option to adjust the controlls for S2, leaving him without useable shoulder buttons
- customizations will not show up for S2: I customized my characters in one sessions. The other session my buddy starts the game and in the character selection my custom presets are not available.

Is this known to Bandai?

In short: S2 really is sitting there like an idiot.

Can't you set up the controls on the main options and save it across the board?

Getting the kids ready for bed, I can be available in 30 minutes.

Hey not sure what happened with the connection there, but I have to take care of something now I should be back in an hour if you can play more.

I haven't played any Josie's yet so hope to get in some more later!

Can anyone help me out with Miguel? Most of the combos I find online involve SAV mid-juggle and that's something I can't pull off yet. For example I with uf4, df1, SAV df1 I can never get the sav df1 to hit. Is there a trick to the motion or is it just practice? (Stick player btw)

From what little experience I have with this game, I'm gonna guess that you need to practice just the part of the combo that you can't nail down yet. Practice the sav df1 over and over again until you can consistently get it to hit, then try the full combo.

edit - I'm launching the game right now to practice that exact combo for you, but in the meantime, remember that in Tekken some moves (and especially stances like Savage) require your character to recover from their previous move before the game will accept your movement inputs. You might be entering the movement too early.

double edit - I'm looking at a bnb combo vid for miguel and it's making me think that you left out a d/b+2 from your combo. It should be uf4, d/b+2, df1,f~, df+1, d/f+2,2,

There's not really a trick at all, it's super easy? d/f+1 hold forward for like a quarter second then move down to down-forward and mash 1. There's not even any timing involved as long you remember the transition. It's not like it can even really miss unless you're extremely late? You don't have to wait for the SAV transition animation to finish if that's what you were doing, and please tell me you weren't doing the SAV manually lol.

If you're really having trouble, this gets you decent damage without SAV:

u/f+4, d/b+2, d/f+1, d/f+4,1, d/f+2,2 S! ff+2,1

Played few matches tonight and it was good fun until some dude decided to start playing ads over the voice channel at a stupidly high volume. I assumed it was something on my PC and alt-tabbed out between rounds to close my browser but it didn't stop the sound and I couldn't click back into the game window so I had to force stop it in task manager.

I hope that's not the behavior to expect from the player base.

Was trying out Lucky Chloe and realized that her just frame string can be done just by holding the buttons instead of timing the presses. Also her RD's damage and the ending animation changes if you just frame 3 for every hit.

Tested out Leo as well, used to play her a lot in T6 and Tag 2. She seems to have low damage potential now, and I'm a little sad that her damaging combos now are mostly variants which include lots of ws 3, f+4 etc. They just look visually unsatisfying compared to her old B! combos.

Uhhh is there voice in the game? I've literally never heard anyone talk in like 100 hours of online

Yeah, Leo's combos are super ugly in this game. It's why I don't play her any more.

I'm not sure why the ad stopped playing as soon as I force stopped the game.

I haven't heard anyone else in other matches or private matches either.

So I don't really have any idea...

If you didn't get it from one of my older posts on this thread, please ignore me lol

Back when I was trying to play Tag 2 on a stick, i was having trouble with this. Thanks. Will save this for the day i decide to try learning stick again.

For other Miguel players playing on a controller, i made a video on how to do it on a pad.

I switched out my Sanwa JLF for a Seimitsu ls-56, and it's much better for me. I can do korean backdashes more quickly, I think a stiffer stick is better for Tekken, while the Sanwa is better for street fighter. But the Seimitsu stick I got has a squeak which is pretty annoying, which is common.

If you don't mind me asking, does your stick have a square or octagonal gate?

I'm the other way, I much prefer his combos now, and the wall carry is totally absurd.

You can get over 70 damage from BOK2 or DB3 as well.

I use a square gate which I like for fighters. I do have a octagonal gate haven't tried it out for Tekken though, I use it for shmups as it reduces the throw even more.

Lili is so annoying to fight against, her moves seems to be short range but it's very misleading, her flips are confusing and her wall carry potential is insane... Her voice is annoying to listen to as well

Any tips against Lili?

New patch out on PC.

The patch is available as you read these lines and stabilizes the following issues:
  • Fixes an issue where the leaderboard only shows until the 97th rank and players can't jump to their own ranking.
  • Fixes an issue where players can't resume the game after minimizing the app's Window.
  • Updates the matching version to ensure hackers will not be matched with legit users anymore.
  • Fixes Nina's Ivory Cutter, Eddy's rage arts and Miguel's power crash move.
  • Fixes an issue where sometimes both controls are assigned to 1P in VERSUS battle.
  • Fixes an issue where the keyboard becomes unresponsive after reconnecting USB devices.
  • Fixes issues where customized Kazuya's 3D model partially disappears.
Don't hesitate to keep on sharing about the issues you meet with the game in the Steam forums so we can work on.
Thank you and goud luck with your next challenger.
