I'm not saying Eren and Mikasa will never end up together. I'm just saying that seeing that scene as Eren acknowledging her romantic feelings with romantic feelings of his own is not how I saw it at all. Dude is dense as fuck, albeit it's a bit justified since she's basically a sister to him.

What kinda sister leans in for a kiss?! Do I gotta post a gif of the scene? Lol She was even giving him anime love face with the blushing and sparkly eyes.

Eren acknowledged it and stopped crying. Then turned to face the Titan that killed his mom.

And he isn't that dumb either.

One-Punch Man is the only manga where people are normal ages lol

Saitama's 25, Tatsumaki's like 28 or something

It's sore freshing

Anime adults always someone who's bossy for female, jaded for male or weirdo for both sex.
It's like they can't imagine any other kinds of personality.

Yeah, it's a Bro/Sis relationship. To romantically pursue someone you were raised w/ is... really icky.

Mikasa gives no fucks. Neither does Barry Allen.

I didn't say Mikasa felt that way (It's more of a mix, where's he both family, but she loves him), I said Eren did. At this point in time, that's his family, ain't nowhere near romantic on his side. I mean hell, the dude turned away from her at the last second, completely unaware she wanted a kiss.

The fact that these PTSD child soldiers aren't fucking like bunnies is the least believable part of the show tbh.

Just astounding nobody's tried the "you don't want to die a virgin, do you?" play yet.

Nobody (as in, the viewers) got time to see all that horniness lol

I'm not sure how much shipper-pleasing romance you want in a series where kids kill kidnappers trying to sell a girl into sex slavery.

When would they even have time to? There's like no down time.

12 episodes just wasn't enough, two nights and done. Anime only viewers, I feel for y'all.

By the way, I was reading through this thread from start just cause I wanted to see the reactions people had, and it's blatantly obvious there are people in this thread pretending they haven't read the manga.

Y'all need fuck off real quick. It's almost as bad as the TWD threads.

I keep seeing people say that season 3 will be season 1 length, but can't find a source on it.
The volumes in the teaser definitely indicate a show in the 24-26 ep range, based on how much material they're covering. Only question is where the stopping point is, cause there's a few available.

Can't think of a single anime where the main character isn't completely oblivious to the girl that likes him.

Do SAO and Akame ga Kill! Count?

Also it's blatantly obvious that Mikasa wants Eren's Titan-dick.

All of that said, I really don't care for the romance angle and would be happy if they completely dropped it outside of where it can get played for a gag here or there. (Goddess Historia moments, for example.)

I am so glad this anime isn't bogged down in fanservice and romance crap.

I wouldn't even say Eren is oblivious to Mikasa's feelings for him. It could very well be interpreted that he'd rather ignore them completely.

Wasn't Eren into Annie? Or was it Bert? I can't remember.

No one.

I mean, as far as anime goes that last episode was a fairly explicit reciprocation of Mikasa's feelings for Eren. But yeah, I'm also glad that romance isn't a major focus of the show, I just hope that doesn't change going forward.

I liked that scene, too, because of the subtext that it was the end of the line and Mikasa was saying how important Eren is to her as they were about to all die. She starts thanking him as Eren glances at everyone behind them who are about to get eaten.

And the relationship between Ymir and Historia, romantic or not, has been pretty important this season. But getting bogged down is if a love triangle involving Jean/Eren/Mikasa or something became a focus; man that would suck.

I certainly don't want fanservice nonsense, it just is conspicuous how little acknowledgement they even make to sex / romance. Reiner's "gotta marry her line" was good but it was notable for being one of the only lines like it. Even just some stuff like that, acknowledging that sex exists, could be good.

When would they even have time to? There's like no down time.

That's not even kind of true. Nobody was boning down during that snow adventure flashback? Training took ages! What's everyone else up to while Ymir is reading cans of tuna and accidentally blowing her cover?

Well, when he struggled to transform to fight Annie in Season 1, Mikasa suggested it was because he had feelings for her. But meh, never really went anywhere.

That's true. But Mikasa is crazy/obsessive like that. She was giving Hange the death stare after talking to Titan Eren for the first time.

A cool part about Mikasa's feelings for Eren are just how unhealthy they are, too.

Speaking of that, though, we never got to see the ending of the fight between Annie and Miaksa. Lame.

Yea people give her character grief for being basically all about Eren 24/7, but it's not that big of a deal imo

You have several other prominent female characters that aren't crazy over Eren, so all good as far as I'm concerned.

This is the real travesty.

I thought the implication was that Annie won?

EDIT: Then again I just assumed that the person in the quick flashback was Mikasa and not Eren.

It's shonen anime. Sex doesn't exist. The parents just mysteriously have children after getting married.

I hope we get more scenes of Beast Titan. Just rewatched the scene where he disturbinly killed that one guy by asking him questions then commanding the other Titans to eat him.

And why is Mr. Blondie 16 Abs sitting on his head so casually?

....

Hurry up season 3!

Maybe... but Eren and Mikasa are great together. I do admit that her saying, "Eren" so many times has become a meme.
It's gotten a bit annoying honestly.

Also, episode 37 is the last one? Damn, that was fast. I still can't get the full thing on Crunchyroll though.

It's like real life AoT, any one of us could be a titan manga reader!

Season 3 is gonna be 24 episodes of nothing but Mikasa's rock hard abs.

Rewatching old episodes and yeah.... she says "Eren" so many times that I gotta wonder just how many times Eren's name must appear in her script. It's a annoying yet kinda cute meme.

Blondie is the Beast Titan.

??? No way. He's standing on top of the Beast Titan. How can you stand on top of something that you hafta be inside to control?

Re-watching season 1 and some small scenes have much more meaning now. Like the scene with Keith Shadies 'skipping' over a few trainees because their faces look like they've already seen hell, and you get a shot of Reiner, Annie and Ymir. Or the various scenes where Reiner, Bertholdt and Annie group together. Or that scene where Eren turns into an incomplete titan to stop a cannon ball and people from the other side of the wall observe the rising titan smoke. There are many close-up shots of Reiner's bewildered look.

These are small details you'd never pay attention to if you only watched Season 1 but they already knew.

Which means the Reiner / Bertholdt titan stuff was already known when the anime started production, so I'm guessing 2012-2013? At this rate we'll never catch up to the manga will we?

You don't want to catch up to the manga. You want the manga to stay ahead until completion.

On how far they were though, I recall seeing something like "Attack On Titan Anime will be airing this saturday" on the part of the manga where Reiner is throwing titans at the survey corps.

Also, Isayama works alongside WIT very closely when they make the anime, and he has the entire series planned out.

We have covered up to chapter 51 out of 94 chapters and there are 2 side stories to adapt. I think 13 episodes once a year will work just fine.

I didn't understand you-know-who's motivation at all. Did I miss it? It's a cool reveal tho, especially now that I'm rewatching the first season.

Absolutely hated the Ymir/Christa storyline. Irrational decisions left and right. Annoys me to no end.

Don't worry, you're supposed to be perplexed by Ymir's behavior and motivations at this point. S3 will help immensely.
