Knicks fire Phil Jackson as President of operations

Phil wanted to get rid of Melo
He was about to do New York a favor
Now Melo will sign the super max

Enjoy New York

Phil got paid 60 million for being a disaster, smh my life ain't shit

Finally... a glimmer of hope. But it's a $60M mistake and Dolan should go as well. That's the only hope this team has - a future without Dolan and Melo.

Lol. Fuck Phil for trying to force this outdated offense in 2017, as if the game is being played in the same way today as when he was coaching.

Like yeah, we all know Melo has some issues but clearly they were a worse team since Phil took over. This is the best news Knicks fans have had in years IMO

Always thought he was overrated. He won all his titles by having some of the best players in the league on his team. Not a surprise that when he didn't have a ready built team he'd struggle.

A lot of good this will do when in fact the true poison on the organization is Carmelo Anthony. He's been their poison. They will continue to be too stupid to realize it, naturally.

They had to do it at this point. The players have turned against Phil. Not just the team, but the entire league it seems after he beefed with LeBron. LeBron & Friends run free agency. Knicks were never gonna get good free agents to come there with his drama and triangle baggage.

Still a lot of work to be done to become a destination again though.

Sucks that Pjax didn't work out...but fuck it, reboot until it works. Kinda tight they drafted Frankie Nickels and not Dennis Smith Jr, though.

Next logical step: Process v.2.0. Knicks fans you know you want it.

I've been begging for a Knicks Process since 2002, man.

I've watched the Hinkie Experiment with awe and jealousy.

The Knicks have fucking sucked since the Clinton administration. What's 4 more years of shit?

Better late than never. I definitely thought he'd be here to open the season, but it doesnt change the fact that Dolan is still in charge. The game passed Phil Jackson by a long time ago. You need shooters in today's NBA and he went out and signed a ball-hogging point guard and Joakim Noah.

Now they just need to shelve the ideas of trading KP and resigning Rose, trade Melo for anything, go young and develop a team that can space the floor and move the ball around.

Did Phil even want the job before he got offered that big money? Also why is Dolan not being thrown under the bus with him. I don't foresee the team becoming relevant again anytime soon even with Phil gone.

Dolan is in a permanent state of under the bus. It's the defat that never has to be stated.

Unless there's a tape of Dolan going on a racist tirade at one of his Straight Shot performances, the owner doesn't get thrown under any buses. The owner owns the bus he pays someone else to drive over people with.

I don't want Hinkie. People give him way too much credit when he was never able to develop talent and despite having all of the picks in the world he passed on an Isiah Thomas.

Do the Knicks need to rebuild? Yes. Do they need to do so in a way where the sign NO VETS? No.
