Welcome to the Ballroom Episode 2:

Yea, I am just not feeling this show, it isn't a bad show per sae but take away the ballroom motif and this really is a pretty standard club/sports show. It isn't being helped by the art design looking downright creepy and painful when dancers are in motion. Also, the production values here are lack as they are trying to pass a lot of still shots as action. It is safe to say that Ballroom is on the bubble for me at the moment.

Yeah, this continues to be really damn good. Hell, I thought it was even better than the first episode. There was no action at all, but that web of truth and lies and spywork had me glued to the screen. Also raises some new very intriguing questions.
AOTS candidate for sure.

Excited! This and Made in Abyss are the only 2 shows I am watching. Is there anything else this season that has been great? Even though it is really early.

Those sound effects in YuYu Hakusho sure are terribly outdated. It's strange when the art holds up perfectly fine and the direction can be quite strong, too, just for some punching sound effect to sort of kill the moment.

I guess it's to be somewhat expected when watching an old show but it has rarely been this noticeable, so maybe the sound design was lackluster even back then?

Might wanna give Magical Circle Guru-Guru a shot. It's a comedy that constantly throws back to old game mechanics. I think it's cute, but of course, as a comedy, your mileage may vary.

Now we're talking. Actual spy stuff instead of a bunch of action. It's tricky figuring out who you can trust. Lots of great shots, especially when Ange was on the side of the building. Now I have a good read on most of the characters. The Princess interests me a lot in particular. This show is delivering good.

Well there's Fate/Apocrypha if you like Fate.
And the 4th Symphogear season if you like Symphogear.

None of those are officially streaming anywhere (yet) tho...

Well, and My Hero Academia Season 2 is still going strong.

Princess Principal Episode 2:

Okay, was I the only one getting Hitman flashback while watching this thing? Damnation that was an excellent episode turning a high risk spy mission into a series of real time power dynamic shifts and pulling it all off was indeed masterful. Also, that feeling when this show has better ballroom dancing then the show about ballroom dancing.

When is Rie Matsumoto going to direct more stuff? Is she doing Kekkai Sensen 2?

She's not doing the second season.

I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't direct at BONES again, at least not for awhile. Word is that a lot of people at the studio weren't really happy with her in regards to how Kekkai Sensen's production fell apart due to her inability at the end to not finish the storyboards.

Mid-season redeemed. Good to see Yukari and Julio still shitting on each other. Actually Julio was the best part of this episode, and in hindsight has really been carrying this show since he showed up. Really good development on his part, and he did it while still remaining a believable jerk. It felt like the episode was building up for him to become a Precure. In fact, I want that. Cure Julio when? The non-Ichika Precure got to do a few things, so that's an improvement at least. Bibury is a meh mid-season boss, but being swallowed by her doll was cool. Good on Noir for at least trying to snipe his enemies. Ciel's despair came from her own doing instead of being forced upon, so I can appreciate it. Neat transformation for Parfait. Very nice fight debut for her, and she's got a great attack.
Hold on, Julio's dead? Please don't be dead. I actually like him.
Stylish ed, and earlier than expected. I hope they can build on this momentum.

Yeah, this is actually fun now. It's shallow popcorn entertainment instead of anything deep and sophisticated, but fun regardless.
Ernestis earnestness towards his hobby (lol) really drives the whole thing and leads to amusing reactions.

Alas, episode 1 was still terrible and that rushjob still looms over this entire thing, but I feel like we're kinda sorta starting to get to know some characters now?

There's been rumors that Matsumoto is going to be directing a movie project produced by Toho, but no concrete information yet.

Ah, thanks. I was sloshed a few days back and threw on Kyousougiga to watch while I passed out. At some point I forgot how good the whole thing was. So much information packed into the scenes.

This continues to be great. The "controversial moment" was so much of a non-issue that I can't believe it was even mentioned. If the MC was a boy it wouldn't have been.

Gintama 7-8

Pretty funny! And I guess it's supposed to get even better? Also Zolo voice actor is here. Gin able to eat a lollipop so fast smoke emits lol. I liked the Gin isn't the main character gags from episode 8 a lot.

Kekkai Sensen 1-2

I kind of started it on a whim, as there's more of it on the next season and because its ending is very charming. It has a lot of quirky characters, the setting is pretty crazy, pretty much anything can happen, and I really like how stylish the show is. It, basically, balances between crazy nonsense and a cool action show. I think my only signifcant problem with Kekkai Sensen is that it's a bit too hectic, the first episode was definitely overwhelming and it seemed like a ton of things happened and I couldn't understand everything. Even after the second episode, I'd be lying if I said I fully grasped what has transpired so far... Nevertheless, it's okay so far and I'm enjoying the action.

Btw, so many Gintama voice actors... And with the setting of a city where different species coexist, you could fool me that this is actually an alternate version of Gintama.

I just watched all of Akiba's Trip over the last few days. It's not a very good anime at all.

I just want to know why Carls Jr advertisements is suddenly a thing lately in anime? Have watched 2 different shows in the last month or so with official Carls Jr ads. Is it even a thing in Japan? I guess it must be.

Aoyama-kun Episode 3

This episode really fell flat compared to the last 2. The jokes are already getting stale. Can't keep doing the same shit and expect a laugh. Hopefully the next episode doesn't falter cause I'll probably drop it if it stops being funny.

Clue me in on this controversial moment.

Edit: Oh, I found it.
I don't usually get aroused by animated, low detail naked little kids so it never occurred to me that someone would have an issue with that.

Fate/Apocrypha Episode 3:

Right then, I suppose this is continuing to build things along and honestly I just don't have much to say about this episode good or bad.

Fate/Apocrypha 3
- The plot progresses slowly but steadily. Though, it's kind of weird the Berserker situation is still the same as the last episode, even if it seems like it will be resolved on the next one this time. Can't wait for the cat girl to appear properly.
- Very cool fight, it gave a good taste of the servants' powerlevels. Action animation continues to be above average.
- Red Saber scenes continue to be the best.

Fate/Apocrypha 03

Episode taking the time to give us a little bit of insight in some of the servants which I appreciated. Also loved hearing Mordred whine because she wants to kick someone ass or just fucking do something.

It's kind of funny seeing Mordred working with someone who is arguably a lot like Kiritsugu but they actually get along because unlike Artoria, Mordred's a cocky, self-assured bastard who doesn't mind playing dirty even though she's strong enough that she arguably doesn't need to.
