I don't think the poster even knows about the rumoured Super version.
The rumor is that "Super" would be the name of a big update and would be free to everyone. If such a thing happens, it probably wouldn't be until Season 2 is over.
For season 2? Nope.
Nothing is debunked yet but, I'm starting to think I better quickly stop getting my hopes up. In theory, season 3/super would drop in December, right? So, that gives capcom 4 months to get all of this ready.
-New select screen?
-Other UI upgrades like different meter artwork?
-Season 3 balance changes
-Super addition engine changes like new v triggers
- Maybe 2-4 characters to make it a "jump" from season 2. As in, start Super off with more than 1 character at the start of the season like they did with Akuma last year.
I mean, unless Super is just Super in name only and really just the same as the Season 2 slow trickle, how are they going to add enough shit to make it seem like a new version with so little time left? Who thinks they can pull it off?
And yes, I know, they've been working on it almost all year, but everyone knows they've been stretched then with MVCi and CFN 2.0.

There won't be a Super release... what the leaker said is a compilation of the season characters in a new retail release.
It is only additional content for SFV... not a new release.
Yeap... that is indeed a compilation with season characters plus updates to a retail release... it is not a new Super version even if they call it a Super update.

It is a Super version, it just isn't standalone and is added as a free update instead.
Err, why not?
They need to relaunch at this point and with the added single player content, UI overhaul (hopefully), sounds like a good time to do just that.
Free for existing users, added bonus for new users.

Quick question, when you say heavy metal, what sort of era/style do you mean? Are they like Black Sabbath 70s heavy metal, something closer to 80s Metallica or Megadeth, or what?
In case you couldn't tell with the differences in model quality between SFV and MvC, it's pretty clear there's nearly no dev overlap between the two games.
But it's very likely we're actually getting Super announced at the end of the year. Things like CFN came up first because those are kinda priorities to the UX that can't wait for a massive update. Other things like new mechanics have probably been sitting on some private server while they build other shit.

It looks absurd but I like it.
Gief, Birdie, Hugo the big guys have "stylized" proportions that make sense in the SF world.
But Abigail doesnt, he looks like a character from another game.
But i respect Capcom for tryin' something new.
Kind of don't hate his alternate costumes. The added bulk to his head from the welding mask on the one and dreads on the other kind of balances out his ridiculous bulk.

It's still the middle of Season 2. Your best bet is to wait for the Capcom Cup at PSX.
And even if they actually call it "Super SFV" I wouldn't expect that big of a change.
Capcom knocked it out of the park in my opinion yesterday showing off Gamora and Jedah in MvC:I... I went from being on the fence for that game, to leaning to buy...
And then all the good will Capcom earned with those reveals went right in the garbage can with the Abigail reveal.
I mean, if you're going to put a Final Fight character in SFV, make it one people actually want!

The Neo Geo game was much better than it had any right to be for such a crappy movie.
But yeah, Abobo was already brought up.
Closer to Metallica than Black Sabbath, but more complex and less in-your-face than classic 80s thrash.
Using YouTube "dislikes" from salty fanboys as a indicator for success is too hilarious. At least Abigail is original if anything so I'm looking forward to see how he fares.
