The Flash: Tom Felton not returning as series regular


Tom Felton will not be returning as a series regular for the fourth season of The Flash, EW has learned exclusively.

Felton joined the show as a series regular in season 3 as Flashpoint creation Julian Albert, Barry’s (Grant Gustin) prickly CSI lab partner who turned out to be Doctor Alchemy — though he was unaware of being an acolyte of Savitar. He was also a love interest to Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker).

At the close of season 3, Julian was still a member of Team Flash, but with Barry now trapped in the Speed Force, and the show jumping ahead at least six months, it appears that Julian has left the team. The character was missing from the new season 4 footage in the recently released trailer, which was shown at Comic-Con, an event the Harry Potter alum also didn’t attend.

As of yet, Felton has not booked a return to the show — Floriana Lima, for instance, will return for “multiple episodes” of Supergirl next season despite not returning as a series regular — but as with all actors in the Berlanti-verse, there’s a chance we could see Felton again if it makes sense for the story and his scheduling permits it.

Yael Grobglas being in a comic show, I wonder if she'll be more comic or not. She had decent drama chops back in Reign too.

Too bad about Felton, but hopefully he'll appear in some episodes. I'm glad we are getting Danny Trejo and returning to a lighter tone this season.

I'm catching up now finally. I just watched 5 episodes of Legends of Tomorrow and finished season two. It was much improved upon the first season and I liked the different period pieces. The one where they went back to the dinosaur age and to the moon were pretty good, and the finally wasn't bad either. I liked them having to go back in time and meeting themselves. Have they said if there'll be any new heroes on the team next season? Will Amaya be back?

I also just saw three episodes of The Flash and got 5 episodes left of the latest season. This musical episode have had to be one of the absolute best episodes in the series. I loved it and it made me feel good. I also liked the whole proposal thing where it actually came out of fear rather than love per se. I'm now on Abra Kadabra and be seems like a real fun guy.

After this I got 9 episodes of Supergirl and 7 episodes of Arrow left phew. I shall do a better job of staying up to date next season.

That's great to hear!

So I've heard season 3 of The Flash was shit but having watched from episode 17 forward today I gotta say I've really enjoyed it. The gorilla grodd stuff was weak but so many other things have since been real great. And damn does Flash's suit in 2025 look awesome. I love it with its gold accents. I hope they use that for season 4.

Looks like your wish may just come true. Also yeah I think the end of season 3 really started to pick up in quality in comparison to the first 2 thirds of it. A bummer, but that paired with the self awareness of where and how the season went that the show runners are exhibiting leaves me very excited! I also just bought my first Flash comic, Rebirth Volume 1.

So they're filming a Supergirl fight outside my building. Saw a National City police car parked outside last night and today, there are a bunch of cameras.

EDIT: And from my window, I am staring at a bunch of destroyed cop cars, a bunch of rubble, and Melissa Benoist standing on the side with the crew, waiting for them to call her on.

I'm catching up on Arrow and watched five episodes last night, and it's getting really good. I like the whole idea of punished Oliver (although I am sick of his self-blaming ever since the first season) but hope for a more upbeat Oliver come next season. Adrian is pretty cool when out of his suit and just doing his civilized thing. Anyway, I am up at the episode where he is retreading and running away it seems. Will finish it either today or tomorrow, and get catch up with Supergirl as the last DC CW show.

Watched 9 episodes and finished the second season of Supergirl today. Generally it was bad all the way through. Everything from Bad Superman and his makeup to the white martians, to Superman that had nothing "super" about him to Cadmus and their intentions. What a huge disappointment. The Guardian was a bad development for Jimmy Olsen and made his character less interesting and I really want them to just abandon the DEO completely but I know they won't do that. I wish Supergirl would be more about the optimism of a girl of steel fighting street crime and having fun making National City a safer place, but instead it's all about the extraterrestrial and threats like mother Luther and the Daxams. Very disappointed.

I do hope that Cat Grant is back to stay for the third season, and I won't mind more Alex/Maggie relationship but they need to give Maggie an arc and make her have something worthwhile to do instead of just being this moral compass and support for Alex. Kara and her friends need to get straight back to CasCo and do some more journalism too.

gonna pull the "Kara no more!" card and try and make her abandon her whole human persona? I guess now we going dark.

Choose three to five heroes from the shows to replace Superman and stop DCEU Zod during his rampage near the end of MoS. Who do you folks choose?

Battlefield conditions:

Location: Metropolis.
Prep Time: 5 minutes. 10 minutes maximum
Morals: Team has morals on. Zod is how he is during MoS.
Everybody on your team is in-character meaning they will only act accordingly to things they do in-character.

Obviously they have good teamwork.
If you choose a non-metahuman then they will fight with standard equipment.
No battlefield removal, no time travel, and if you choose Barry you are allowed 1 remnant.
No implied power levels, no limits fallacy, etc., ie; Firestorm can just turn Zod into jelly beans!!!!
