TITANFALL 2 |G2.1| "Whatever The Fuck That Means"

Outstanding game. About 4 hours into the SP and played some co-op online in Frontier, really fantastic game. Love the freedom of motion and art design and BT is great, sound is great, everything just going really well. Love how the weapons are not all repeats of each other but all feel very unique and with their own style too.

Big fan of this series and Respawn now, likely will double dip on PC and also get original for PC too.

Love the game and will definitely go for a new title if we get a 3rd game. Very happy with this purchase.

Once again to reiterate: If you leave a game of FD because the shield go down once, you are an asshole and everyone hates you.

Just 2-manned a normal difficulty game after the harvester took 1% damage on the second wave and two people left, and nobody else matchmade in. We never failed a wave and made it through 2 of the remaining 3 waves without the harvester taking damage.

I think what needs to be done to speed this up is to pop a new harvester and leave off where you were and have your titans ready to spawn. I've experienced this a couple of times on the hard difficulty, came down to me and one other dude.... I was like, "See you on the other side man..."

The mode is fun but you have to commit a large chunk of time to it.

Starts weak but that's kinda the point. Once you get kills you can "level up" her Core to get more bonuses. Leveling her core restores her shields to full. She also has an Execution which restores her shields to full, and an ability that gives her shields when she hits an enemy with it. So basically I keep my shields up and pop out to rocket enemies whenever my rockets are up, then go in close and melee execute to get my shields back up.

What's the best class ability you guys think? I love the Grapple Hook's mobility but the Holo double seems pretty cool, too. I tried using A. Wall but usually just forgot I had it.

Even after the nerf, I have to hand it to Phase Shift because it allows you to survive situations you otherwise couldn't

Stim's a lot of fun because it instantly accelerates you to LUDICROUS SPEED, which is silly and fun, and useful for those times where you just can't get momentum, or when you to just run up to someone and punch them in the face.

I find Holo to be most helpful IMO because of how the ai is programmed to react to it. If you send out a holo pilot, and ai that is nearby or was targeting you will always turn and target the holo, which gives you time to breathe, shoot, escape, whatever.

Ok, so just started playing with Monarch in Frontier Defense. Can someone please explain how to play with him? Coming from other titans, this one seems kind of weak.

First of all, you want to use the Overcore and Energy Thief kits, they will greatly accelerate the upgrade process.

As for the upgrades, if you want to do damage, you want to either do a chaingun build:

Arc Rounds -> Rearm and Reload -> Accelerator

or a burst damage build

Missile Racks -> Maelstrom -> Accelerator

Ronin's Highlander kit suddenly makes a lot more sense with Frontier Defense, aegis upgrades for sword core doing more damage and regaining shield on damage given and enemy titans having much less health than player ones.

You can probably last an entire wave if there are a bunch of (non-nuke) titans for slicing
though you're still a jerk if you take said kills from a Monarch wanting batteries

this game's pretty good, but it's a shame that there's no one playing, i need to play with 200 ping just to find a match and it still takes 30+ seconds minimum.

so this just happened lol

Man what are people doing in Frontier Defense. Not calling their titans? Not using their cash? Not defending the generator? I mean I am playing on easy and I am not a genius, but damn people are failing hard.

Respawn released a pretty neat Frontier Defense tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8wS8NQ0XW-w

I think that's mostly only people on the easy difficulty, if you feel ok with your own ability try going for normal, you might find better teammates.

So does Monarch's superior chassis get rendered obsolete by the aegis health upgrades? I hit the first one and it only gives me one chunk of Titan health now. I guess it still turns off my crit point but it seems like Acceletater is the way to go?

Same thing happened in the first game. These modes need to be scaled for solo play imo

Frontier Defense is bananas! This game is fantastic, what a gem.

I love that this mode is free and adds so much fun to the damn game. Played 4 matches on Normal tonight to get into it and only failed once with some pretty bad team mates. But it was still fun even losing!

Man, don't know if it's me or the game, but the game controls weird as hell right now.

Game doesn't feel as responsive as usual.

Right? I thought I'm fucking crazy because it feels a bit laggy and stuttering...

Do factions affect gameplay/matchmaking? I've been playing the first faction since buying it last week, yesterday I leveled it up to G2 and gave the next faction a chance to level up and god damn, I play horrible since then. Never made it to the top 3 since then, not one single match over 100 points and many players with G10 and up.

I can't find a rise 24x7 game to save my life, sat there on PC in matchmaking for over 10 minutes. No big deal though, double XP seems to apply to just simple attrition game as well.

Also noticed the scoreboard had a few extra bonus things now: "Elite squad member" gave me an extra credit, not sure what that is, and double XP and match complete both gave a credit although that mighta been there before. Overall really nice, 5 minute attrition game gave me 14 level credits with happy hour. I only play one game a day but already gen 7 level 18, should hit gen 10 in a few weeks.

No, factions don't alter gameplay, it's all in your head lol

Also do Ion and Monarch's laser attacks do more damage/restore more shields if you hold them down longer?

General Titan Core nerf is baffling. As is Monarch's nerfs. Damn near cripples the Titans that need it the most. Just dumb.

I thought something was off, how much did they reduce it by and what was Monarch's nerf?

and yeah the r-101 ttk is kinda crazy

volt seems useless

l-star may not be the best weapon but it's by far the most fun non-grenadier weapon

i want a pvp playlist with only stim, epg, and l-star

Tried to use the Hemlok, CAR, and Flatline this week, still feel like if I am not using the R-101 or G2 I am getting wrecked.

:^)

Its nothing major, but combined with the Core nerf its pretty significant since thats her whole deal.

  • Reduced the strength of the slow effect of Energy Siphon.
  • Slightly reduced effectiveness of Arc Rounds against Vortex Shield and Heat Shield.
