Just a quick update. The last batch of Bubblegum Crisis Premium Blu-Ray Set will be on sale on Animeigo website for the last time. If you never got them yet, might be a good time to get them now.

I think I've found my Konosuba substitute. The show is really fun and the reaction faces are priceless. So far, even the side characters are pretty entertaining.

Thanks for telling me about your secret weapon.

Jesus re:creators, you can't even do a hot spring episode right. What are you good for?

If you liked Usagi Drop I recommend watching Barakamon, another lovely slice of life anime that's excellent.

Yeah, I added that one to my CR queue around the same time as Usagi Drop. One of the next things I'm probably going to watch.

???

What are you talking about? There is no such thing as an Usagi Drop manga.

No. Such. Thing.

Well actually there is according to the CR comment section!
I don't think I want to read anything about a teen Rin wanting babies with Daikichi :/
What a bizarre direction to take the story.

Japan has a long, weird story with incest. I can name several manga/anime with incest elements, and I think I can name zero from the Western world.

It's there. Going through Dune again reminded me of this notion because nobody ever talks apart Paul Atreides getting turned on by his naked little sister or how a powerful faction wanted his kids to fuck to keep their bloodline pure.

Adam and Eve.

Christ I just realized the irony of TURIN TURAMBAR posting that.

Is this an elaborate ruse? Have I been rused?

I guess Turin's point is that a lot of the West's historical literary incest roots haven't made it to mainstream pop culture fiction whereas in Japan it's par for the course?

Anime and niche otaku entertainment aren't really mainstream pop culture. Game of Thrones on the other hand...

The History of humanity's connection with Incest is not localized to any single culture even to this day with Game of Thrones from as old as Ancient Egypt. Creepiness need not be stuck to Japan.

Game of Thrones is "medieval times" and if there's one persistent belief about "medieval times" it's "there was lots of incest and it was totally normal!".

But you wouldn't get like, Eromanga in the West... I think??? I don't read enough YA to be sure of this.

I think the article as posted accidently put the ".cc" domain in places where the writer meant to put the original ".com" domain.

At any rate, this is a good lesson that password recovery features can be exploited with a determined enough hacker. "Hacker" might not even be the right word to use here; as described, this takeover could have been done by literally anyone savvy enough to fool a customer service representative; no special technical knowledge required.

I can't really blame Funimation for pulling back on their theatrical releases. Releases of solo anime films probably don't bring in that many people. That said, it really stings that In This Corner of the World is playing just down the street, but it sold out immediately.

Guys, it's so pretty.

I wanna see it. ;_;

Maturity, bitches.
Not the first time I've heard someone got hacked because their mobile phone company was slack.

So, it wasn't hacked "traditionally".
Hacking isn't some cool guy typing a million passwords a second like on Swordfish. It's very often just this, finding information leaks and exploiting people. It's why phising is so common.
