Not to say that I'm in hopes that Roshi does get eliminated next, but I'm actually crossing my fingers on it. Something as simple as "Roshi is the 2nd to be eliminated" would at least be reassurance that anything can still happen and not be as predictable as we might have first thought.
We can take a safe guess that Goku and Gohan probably would make it to the end, but everyone else is a bit harder to say.

Crazy theory, he's gonna become a god of destruction somehow. Wouldn't be surprised if he put out champa or beerus out of comisssion.
Feels too obvious. I don't think he'll be eliminated.
He did have an easy time controlling the Hakai energy, so this might not be too far-fetched.

I don't think that argument really works when we also had episodes focused on other characters who didn't get eliminated.

I've been meaning to say this forever but the whole "this character gets focus so they will surely be eliminated soon" is way too predictable and I'm glad it hasn't been going (entirely) that way so far.

So far the only one who has suffered that is Krillin. Everyone else has either gotten development/ stronger for later portions of the arc, or doing what's expected of them and defeating their opponents.
There's no way Roshi is getting eliminated in an episode where the NEP says he's getting eliminated/ going to die.

they already showed they had something planned.
Sometime at the end him and Whirpool will reveal they've been working together all along, and Goku with someone else will have to fight them.

There's still those two invisible color swaps from Universe 4. One of them, "Damon", had their description leaked months ago and it has some skill where it shreds its skin for a self-destruction attack and can reappear from the skies or underground, so it doesn't seem like their only trick is that "invisibility" (I guess he might just be hiding underground for now).

Well this is the BIG arc for Super, hinted at since the Battle of Gods movie back in 2013, im interested to see what happens after the tournament too but the buildup has been insane for it to be over quickly

This tournament isn't all about power. Tien might have a particular skill or unique insight that helps in detecting whatever those threats might be. I don't feel the authors gave us that little piece of information for nothing. They have something in mind for Tien.
Here's what I love most about the tournament of power thus far: they've resisted the temptation to go around creating a bunch of ultra powerful hits, Gokus and Jirens. They are being wise in how they have chosen to demonstrate the power of the other universes. Not everyone is a Frieza, Goku, Android 17, Vegeta, Gohan, Toppo, Hit or Jiren. These other fighters have been showing how formidable they are in their own special way. I wonder what the big fight is going to be for each of the universe 6 saiyans.
Because the face in that art looks fucking awful.
No Dragon Ball Super writer has ever had this thought once about Tien, and it's an insult to Dragon Ball if they have.

Maybe not sacrifice himself or die but still getting knocked out by the end of the episode. It also looks like they'll go with his love for girls again so this may be the episode for him.
Hopefully that's the case.
I know right? The reason I can't get behind Gohan in Super is because he looks weird 90% of the time, and I swear I'm not exaggerating here. Just go for his Z model and call it a day.
