Gon is my least favorite protagonist out of the four.
Killua > Kurapika > Leorio > Gon.

I can agree with this. I actually like them all a lot but some characters do edge out the others. I might swap Kurapika and Leorio from time to time. Killua is absolutely my favorite though.

Agree completely.

The manga is more interesting when it focus on any of the first 2 characters you listed.

It's not surprising Togashi has never made an adventure with Gon alone, he had always on hi side. In fact, now I think about it, lots of times where Gon and Killua were together, Killuas's perspective was more used.

Now what's the next step in your master plan?
Gon starts off as your basic shounen protag archtype but once we get to Greed Island and beyond he becomes a lot more interesting. Hell some of the best character moments are from Gon not being able to handle all of dark emotions during the Chimera Ant arc. I thought 116 of the anime got this down so damn well with his rage nearly boiling over several times. The fact he doesn't handle things like Goku or Naruto or any of them but actually loses his mind over what's happened is a great change up.

I can never remember ep numbers. Is that when he's first reunited with Pitou and Killua has to talk him out of Janken punching her and Komougi into oblivion? Him losing his shit and repeatedly calling Pitou a thing was messed up. I'll also admit to liking Gon way more than Naruto and Goku as well. Goku would just befriend the Ants while Naruto would fist bump them fools on sight. Lol now I'm wondering what would happen if Meruem winded up like Piccolo.

So...Naruto'd become bros with them too? Or punch them on sight? o.o

Well this is the week everyone. The week when we find out if HxH is going to go on hiatus for another year or more. We had 10 chapters last year before the hiatus, let's see if we get that amount again.

I've been working my way through this show. Usually I don't watch shonen anime (only really watched DBZ and Pokemon growing up), and anime in general is tough for me to get into but I make exceptions here and there when I want to try something different.

Anyway, I'm actually enjoying Hunter X Hunter 2011 quite a bit. The show has a nice sense of adventure and a solid cast of characters. It's also really well produced and oozes quality.

Gotta say though, I'm NOT a huge fan of the Greed Island arc right now. Just got to the dodge ball part which has been somewhat more interesting but the "collecting cards" aspect has been kind of a drag. I know it's a change of pace but it's not the kind of thing that really got me into the show.

Looking forward to the Chimera Ant arc because people seem to think highly of that one.

Greed Island is mostly just a JRPG grind/level up arc. You don't start noticing more about it till after you watch it twice, has some foreshadowing bits in there in my opinion.

Boy are you in for a

Which ones?

People can bitch all they want but I think the Chimera arc has better pacing than the current DBS arc. It just seems like it's going nowhere.

It's way too quick for me and aimless

But yeah Chimera arc pacing I'm guessing works better binged than anything
I will admit that I've only experienced it by binging the anime, but at the same time. Shit happens in these eps. Nothing really happens in Super except for advanced jobbing.

True so did I so I figured that's is and something I noticed because I remember you do get a long stretch of the palace adventure and it takes it time to set up everything for the better and lets stuff breathe

Super hurts more since I'm read YYH AND remembering what tension and weight feels like and Team Toguro > Pride Troopers

Oh please Toguro could solo The Pride Jobbers as far as I'm concerned. Dark Tournament is GOAT shonen tournament arc.

Come on Togashi we need more, there's been no ominous weekly message so he should be good!

Makes no difference, but it was 9 chapters in 2014, then 11 in the last burst of 2016. Me, though...I'm hoping it could possibly be a repeat of 2010 (20 chapters) or, better yet, 2011/2012 (30 chapters)

Or 2007/2008/2009 mayhap (10 chapters, shorter hiatus, 10 chapters again, then another slight hiatus with 10 more chapters)

Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.
According to a TOC translation, Togashi's message is that he'll be back before the year ends. That's something at least.

As expected. I'm totally down for 2 volumes a year if he can pull it off, I was happy with the prospect of one a year.

I'm surprised he lasted as long as he did. The dude is (1) in his 50s (2) is/was in poor health (3) under creative pressure and (4) is fuck-you wealthy.

Take your break you beautiful man. You deserve it.
