Gosh, this gif cycles way too friggen fast....

I love that they use Katekyo Hitman Reborn, one of the best animated classics of our generation.

Also they use the best Natsume image

Maturity, bitches.
P.S. Note that Ninja wrote "Idolmaster" and not "The iDOLM@STER" so for all the iM@S fans in here, what he said doesn't actually apply.

Stop arguing about which terrible anime to peddle onto onlookers and just watch Kemono Friends instead.
WUG Zoo > Kemono Friends

Yeah, that's right Narag. I'll never stop!

Majin Bone 52 END

That was great. The show continues to impress to the very end by having the final resolution in the final episode not be about a punch, but a personal plea. Between the steady escalation of intensity and complexity, the commitment to having the characterization drive and motivate the action, and the resolve to keep character arcs going at all times, this has some of the strongest writing I've seen in a long-running anime. Except for the one recap episode, there are no throwaway episodes; every episode has a purpose in furthering the character drama and the overall narrative. It's incredible how this show takes a mobile card game and the basic structure of a battle shounen and turns them into an interesting and meaningful tale about humans, and their ability to change.

I have to give high praise to Konosuke Uda for overseeing this. A 52 episode Toei show isn't going to have great resources to work with, but Uda did his best with what he had, ensuring generally solid direction and effective storytelling. I really liked Ryo Onishi's adaptations of Murata's designs (except that Liebert's Nepos outfit was rather goofy, but whatever); despite being vastly inferior in production values there was more character in these designs than the adaptation of Murata designs used for the One Punch Man anime. Using the CG work of Dimps for a large portion of the show paid off as well, as it made for exciting action scenes that were great to look at, with strong camera work and some neat effects.

A real gem.

Majin Bone's CG powersuit fights take a while to get truly creative, but once they hit their stride they have better camerawork and choreography than most CG mecha anime produced for adult audiences. That alone is a fairly impressive claim for a kids' anime, but what really sets the CG apart is the great mocap (well, it looks like mocap). Scenes in the Cocoon can be dialogue-heavy, and the attention to gesticulation and character acting that matches the dialogue preserves the characters' personalities even when inside the suits. It's the closest thing to authentic tokusatsu that I've seen in anime.
and add my shilling for the soundtrack (Don't let that card in the picture mislead you, it's not about cards).

Gamers! episodes that don't have the requisite number of weird Uehara faces or Tendo bullying aren't any good.

Also, Uehara is kind of a bad friend. He was trying to hook him up with Tendo the whole time but didn't consider telling him to try the She's All That Transformation that every other character successfully used to become ultra-hot. The fact that more than half the cast went from mousy and unremarkable to dazzlingly gorgeous via an overnight haircut probably should have been explicitly called out as ridiculous within the show, actually.

Rough plot outline for an episode of Gamers!

Hoshinomori gets angry at Amano in their gaming app and uses a racial slur in a heated moment. As a result, Amano becomes convinced that Tendo is secretly in love with Misumi from the gaming club and is leading him on to set him up with Aguri so that she can break up with him in order to date Uehara as part of a scheme to get Misumi to notice her. Amano confronts Konoha about the racial slur, but she doesn't know what he's talking about and slaps him, which is secretly witnessed by Uehara, who becomes convinced that Amano is being scolded by Konoha because he is cheating on Tendo with Chiaki as part of a gambit to get closer to Aguri.

Gamers! Episode 10 rough plot outline:

Hoshinomori gets angry at Amano in their gaming app and uses a racial slur in a heated moment. As a result, Amano becomes convinced that Tendo is secretly in love with Misumi from the gaming club and is leading him on to set him up with Aguri so that she can break up with him in order to date Uehara as part of a scheme to get Misumi to notice her.
English please.

Bought GetBackers during the Sentai sale, figured I'd rewatch it since it was something I really enjoyed as a teen... it's... not holding up for me =/ Sometimes you just can't go back.

Re:Creators 16

Onsen episode with one interesting piece of conversation on whether Altair doesn't see the beauty of the world that they perceive. Whatever the reasons may be, it had to be monotonously filled in by Meteora. It's as they say, Meteora peaked in the recap.

The final arc is in place I see. Probably the most interesting element is what Alice and Magane have going on or will.

delet this

No. I will not.

I take offense with this.

It just means you have an acquired taste.

That post is gonna offend someone. I went throughout the anime rainbow with it.

Also others can tell you about my shit taste and how I dislike The Tatami Galaxy. But I watched it all the way through because I make good on all my watchbets!

I'm confused how Gundam is like the others. I first watched it as a kid, giant fighting robots are still cool.

It was a poke at Nintendoman mostly. However, I was saying if you like the series. Meaning you watched more than three Gundam shows. At that point you've just watched too much Gundam for one lifetime.

Seriously tho, Oreimo is great.

I...enjoyed watching it too. Because I am trash. Though I hate that I watched the last OVAs that ruined all the fun of the show. It was a little too on the nose with the title. I thought it would be like any other mainstream harem where they would avoid going the wrong route...

I knew you would react! Hahahahahaha.

(I only know...like...five or six characters in that photo...)

You know what people should do? Watch something they've never watched before. Something they have had no intention of watching.

Something outside their comfort zone. Go into unfamiliar territory. Look at something you might not normally watch. Something that may not seem targeted for your age demographic.

Maybe watch something from Toei.

Maybe watch something that predominately has CG fight scenes.

Maybe watch a show that I've been telling you all to watch for almost two years now and nobody even gives the time of day because every new show that Nintendoman58 really enjoys in here is assumed to be bad and boring by newcomers by default.

I mean, I'm just saying!

I know. People should and watch a show where people compete by slapping cards out and listening to poems.

I'm just saying... ;P

The first anime or Brotherhood?

Both.

Pretty sure that's a fake summary based on recent events.

I would have kind of thought that was obvious given the fact I highly doubt Chiaki is about to shout a racial slur over their gaming app. I mean, I get the fact no one can see you winking over the internet but jeez lol

wow guess gundam build fighters sucks now. oh well more room for heybot

You can tell Heybot is a good cartoon designed to sell toys to kids by virtue of the fact that most the toys are on hilariously deep discount now.

I was almost actually tempted to order a DX Heybot from AmiAmi the other day. I gather the International Heybot Mafia caught wind of this and bought up all the just-Heybot sets, though.

People seem to like this manga, if I'm remembering correctly?

I wonder if the Heybot anime is more popular overseas than in Japan.

(Of course, I use the term "popular" loosely in either case.)

So I read the whole 1st volume of the manga many years ago and I really was not sold on it. Like nothing hooked me into continuing beyond their everyday life. Maybe I'm missing something, but I'm not sure what's unique about this series.

Just making sure, I'm not being malicious and stuff, hahaha

I am really close to saying "fuck it" and laying Cross Ange on the line for Majin Bone.

I'm honestly desperate at this point.

Like, what else can I do?

Beyond the Boundary -I'll Be Here-

I like KnK as much as any sane person does but the movie was a dreck. It's been a while so I can't quite point out all the flaws but the stupid amnesia subplot made this a tiring rehash of the tv show but with melodrama ramped to laughable levels. I'm pretty sure they also contradicted the backstory established in og series. I can't quite recall the specifics but the villain was also an utter idiot. This is a story that could and should have been finished within the TV show but KyoAni wanted their money and they castrated the series for it. Truly the Evangelion of our times.

Darn all the heybot toy videos looked fun.
