this video really shows what is wrong with modern gaming.
who cares how detailed the headlights of a car are.
you never see them when you race and if you do, they are far away
and what makes it even funnier is that the models in the menu/replay sometimes look better then actual gameplay.
is the damn game fun to play ?
(old man yelling at sky)
Remember when GBs QL and some other folks docked GTS a bit because they thought it graphically didnt compare? What game did they play? This article shows that GTS punches well above its weight in many categories.
Well done. Looking forward to the HDR comparison video next.
What? When has NFS ever been just about the racing?GT and Forza are games for car enthusiasts. The reason why these details are there is because people actually look at the cars in photomode or in the garage.
These games aren't like a Need For Speed where its just about the racing.
This is supposed to be car porn.
The impressive thing is the console game came on top
PD are just some wizards.
GTS is easily more technically impressive but I would argue Forza looks better
Why didnt they wait until the One X was out?

I think you are looking at image quality vs the overall package. For me, Forzas image quality, AA and textures are a lot better. While GTS has the edge in lighting and everything else - at least for me. I cant deny that GTS looks fantastic on my OLED, but Forza does too.I've been playing Forza 7 since launch on PC, 4k Ultra.
Unless something is up with my Pro and copy of GTS I can't understand how anyone can say it (GTS) looks better.
Even FH3 to me 4k ultra looks better.
My eyes must be in backwards or something.
HDR head to head is a glaring glaring omission...
It's clear one is an entertainment product out to make money and the other is a passion project.

What cane be said.
They both have it, but DF doesn't really know much about HDR, so it would resort to them going.
It looks nice.
Which is not what DF there to do.
I seriously have no idea what the hell this means.
Why didnt they wait until the One X was out?
Did he pay Sony and PD to play GTS with passion? Both released their respective products because they are passionate about racing and also to keep funding that passion.I seriously have no idea what the hell this means.
I don't know why it's taken this long for people to realise what's going on. It's been blatantly obvious since Forza Motorsport 7's reveal...and it's been blatantly obvious how Gran Turismo's conditions work for ages too. That was an impressively comprehensive video.
It's interesting to see what different corners are cut in each game.
Forza 7 has semi-dynamic time of day, but time only moves forward as you progress through the race (for some reason), and all of the environmental shadows are static.
GTS has fully real-time shadows and more impressive global illumination with set day times to choose from, but no dynamic time of day changes.
Then there's funny stuff like GTS reusing the exact same reflections on the player car for all cars, no matter where they might be in the track.
In the end, what I'm left with that is that I'm really impressed with how GTS looked like in the video. Maybe one day when the thing actually gets enough content it'll be a worthwhile purchase.
And it also showed wet/rain with Forza?
HDR implementation throughout the whole game(s) vs a limited number of wet weather tracks in Forza (next to nothing in GT)? So yeah, HDR is a glaring omission...
In many things, yes. This doesn't mean it looks a generation ahead at all, though, like it was mentioned in the other thread.
I don't recall GB making any complaint about the visuals. Actually that was one of the few aspects Jeff praised, multiple times in fact in the QL.
They didnt? They used a high spec PC with all graphic settings maxed. Why compare Pro to regular Xbox ONE S?
Why compare Pro to regular Xbox ONE S?
For the purposes of our analysis, we looked at Gran Turismo Sport primarily running on PlayStation 4 Pro using its higher resolution 1800p checkerboard mode, while in the case of Forza 7, the lack of Xbox One X code made us settle on the PC version with all settings maxed out and resolution set to native 4K
Maybe a HDR followup when X1X comes out?
Objectively wrong.a shameless cash grab.. I'm talking about Forza.
Yes, as I said, they don't really know a lot about HDR content.
Also you can't mix HDR content in a youtube video.
It just shows the game is built for Xbox One and not specifically made for PC.
The game punches exactly at its weight for PS4 as the shortcuts in the video show, as well as other shortcuts not mentioned like the limited draw distance in the rear mirrors.
The only one that matters. Shouldn't be a contest after that lolDisappointed they didnt do comparison on the pit crew animations.
Objectively wrong.
Objectively loot boxes used to cost extra money.
Yup, it will be growing for years. Expecting it to be the first Gran Turismo title to become a cross-generation title.is GTS meant to be a GaaS type of game?
Feels like weather was completely left out.
Why would the X1X change HDR implementation?
so does HDR.
Loot boxes cant even be paid for yet. The games progression is far too generous even with them present, so what point are you trying to make?Objectively loot boxes used to cost extra money.
