Trump to widow of dead Sargent: 'He knew what he signed up for'

So, John Kelly's account yesterday of Congresswoman Wilson's "empty barrel" grandstanding and taking credit for "getting the money" for an FBI building was a complete and total lie.

The Sun Sentinel found footage of the speech.

Absolutely outrageous and infuriating.

I just watched this. I expected more of General Kelly and he should apologize for attacking Congresswoman Wilson about this speech, about her "listening in", attacking her character (empty barrel), etc. I really lost a good amount of respect for him yesterday.

This is what Kelly said.

In reality she told a nice bipartisan story about working with John Boehner and Marco Rubio to quickly get the building named after two fallen FBI agents.

Is there a transcript? The video player isnt working for me

When you don't like "certain" people it's really easy to fabricate false memories of things they've done/said.

It's adorable that Kelly thinks that a building like that only costs $20 million, it actually cost $190 million. The dude is completely divorced from reality.

Maybe he was referring to some other speech she gave to the FBI in 2015.

Wilson wasn't even in Congress when the money for that building was appropriated. Kelly is straight up, bald faced lying.

The sheer audacity for Kelly to stand up there talking about the good old days when "women were sacred" and then tell a totally fabricated story about a black Congresswoman that paints her as a hysterical self-promoting kook.

This pisses me off more than most outrageous Trump White House lies.

And still not answering why the WH has conspicuously not spoken to the widows of African American service members.

Kelly is just another Trumper enabler using him to engage in his personal political goals, but just underestimated how shit Trump is.

So Kelly is standing by his account that is plainly disproven by video evidence.

And we're supposed to trust he's one of the "adults in the room" on North Korea and Iran?

So completely side stepping the direct evidence that Kelly was spouting Trumpian Fake News

He's really gunna throw out this "empty barrel" shit and has the audacity to talk about a politician making everything about themselves.

That's fucking rich

Quote of the thread. In the end this whole thing is despicable People jumping on it, Trump's replies, everything about this is just sickening. This country is a dumpster fire of hate.

Was reading the "twitter moments" about Kelly's press conference. All the tweets from journos were fawning over Kelly.

Our weak spot for critical damage is anything military.

The one universal truth about working for Trump remains that you will shred your reputation and credibility by doing so.

Mattis is Teflon. He’s the only one that anyone still has any respect for.

We've known Kelly is a piece of shit, everyone just forgot about the heinous shit he was doing in DHS when he was appointed Chief of Staff.

If anyone was harboring any hopes there were any decent people in this administration I really hope that this has made them rethink it.

You can't be considered a decent person if you're a part of the Trump admin.

Literally standing around and watching the country burn

Don't forget that, if the rumours are true, Kelly also lied about Johnson's death

And he was where he wanted to be, exactly where he wanted to be, with exactly the people he wanted to be with when his life was taken.

If it turns out it was true that he was left behind by mercenaries and left to be killed and mutilated...

I just hope his career will end the way his reputation was destroyed in a matter of hours.

If Kelly knew that it was a possibility that Sgt. Johnson was left behind when he said that... That's fucking gut wrenching.

Lara Trump, who doesn't work in the White House, was on TV claiming she's seen the transcript. Why and how is she being shown something like that?

I feel like I'm going crazy here. What the hell is this?

A Trump telling the truth would be like seeing Bigfoot riding a unicorn chasing down the Loch Ness Monster. So basically kind of rare.

I think this is eventually going to force Trump supporters and Republicans to admit that George Washington and Jesus were Muslim/Libtard coastal elites because they've taken the snowflake position that "Honesty is the best policy" when, in fact, a Real Christian American lies all the time, and that's completely fine.

Kelly: HOW DARE A CONGRESSWOMAN TALK ABOUT A PRIVATE PHONE CALL, IS ANYTHING SACRED?!

Soldier's widow releases family's call with Trump.

The widow of an Army staff sergeant who was killed in Afghanistan earlier this year shared her call with President Trump days after her husband's death with The Washington Post.

Natasha De Alencar, the widow of Army Staff Sgt. Mark De Alencar, who was killed in a firefight in Afghanistan in April, described her conversation with Trump as a "moment of niceness" during an otherwise turbulent and heart-wrenching time.

“At that moment when my world was upside down and me and my kids didn’t know which way we were going, it felt like I was talking to just another regular human,” she told the Post.

I'm glad it helped her when she was going through her loss. I can't imagine what it must be like to lose someone thousands of miles from home.

Are we all aware that when Kelly was heading up Homeland Security, he demanded ICE report at least three "egregious crimes" from illegal aliens from the area where they made arrests, and if they couldnt find any, that they should report an egregious crime from another location?

Leaked DoD emails expose Trump's lie

Roll Call | Exclusive: Pentagon Document Contradicts Trump’s Gold Star Claims
In the hours after President Donald Trump said on an Oct. 17 radio broadcast that he had contacted nearly every family that had lost a military servicemember this year, the White House was hustling to learn from the Pentagon the identities and contact information for those families, according to an internal Defense Department email.

The email exchange, which has not been previously reported, shows that senior White House aides were aware on the day the president made the statement that it was not accurate — but that they should try to make it accurate as soon as possible, given the gathering controversy.
Not only had the president not contacted virtually all the families of military personnel killed this year, the White House did not even have an up-to-date list of those who had been killed.
Capt. Hallock Mohler, the executive secretary to Defense Secretary James Mattis, provided the White House with information in the 5 p.m. email about how each servicemember had died and the identity of his or her survivors, including phone numbers.
Trump had said in a Fox News Radio interview earlier that day that he had contacted the families of “virtually everybody” in the military who had been killed since he was inaugurated.

“I have called, I believe, everybody — but certainly I’ll use the word virtually everybody,” Trump said.
Trump has clearly been active in reaching out to military families who have suffered the ultimate loss, as the AP reports show.

But the White House-Pentagon email scramble Tuesday undermines the veracity of Trump’s statement about his record of contacting all Gold Star families. The internal document also sheds light on how the White House staff, on this and other occasions, has had to go into damage-control mode when the president makes inaccurate statements.

(Roll Call is a DC paper published by The Economist https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roll_Call)

Someone at DoD isn't happy...

Where the heck did you come by this prior respect? He was a shitbag when he was in the dhs too.

If I knew nothing about Trump, I'd say he sounds like a semi-normal person here.

Too bad he's an abomination.

At first I thought it was the widow in the OP responding and thought we had gotten it wrong, but it's a different widow.

Not a bad call, but that's the problem with condolence calls: you can't screw even one of them up. The office of president requires you to get this one right every single time.

You didn't lose respect for him when he took the job or when he would be silent with everything Trump has done?

I have a Navy SEAL in my family, and my uncle was special forces. They nor none of their friends ever said anything political around me. In fact they seemed to go out of their way not to be political.

That's why I am always wary of people who claim they are service members and praise some politician. Aside from American Sniper guy (I met him in DC back in 2005-sh, or thereabourts), they've always been liars.

I hope the Fake News Media keeps talking about Wacky Congresswoman Wilson in that she, as a representative, is killing the Democrat Party!
