so im watching the lonestar stream since someone posted it for yoshi, the female host makes me cringe. *reading off cue card* "so how do you feel your TvP will fare in the upcoming games against protoss, demuslim?" "well i dont think i play any protoss but if you mean in general then i think pretty good" "heh, ah... okay, well thanks demuslim!"

Hahaha, I'll never be as good as Hazaro <3 I was just bored and figured it was something to do, was originally only going to send the link to some friends, but then I thought I might as well share it with gaf as well <3

Doing pretty well today...getting matched up almost exclusively against Plat players and winning most of the time. It's weird, when I play late at night I get Protoss opponents almost every game, but when I play during the day/afternoon I get tons of Terrans. Luckily, I think I'm starting to figure out how to hold off a lot of early Protoss attacks.

I'm not sure exactly how to respond to FFE, though. I usually go Muta/Ling off 2 bases then double expand while harassing/denying their third, then transitioning into Roach/Hydra or staying on Muta/Ling until Broods depending on what I see. But if they FFE, it's very tempting to just plop down the third very early and then go Mutas...but I usually die to a 6/7/8 Gate attack before I can get a significant army out to defend, even when I scout it coming.

I've thought of just sticking with my plan to make sure my Mutas get out quickly and going from there, but I keep running into people who double/triple Stargate or 4Gate me so I can't even find out how it works :p I know the standard is to get 3 bases very quickly and then spam Roaches to defend their timing, but I hadn't really had a lot of success with that the last few weeks - I'm unsure if I should just saturate all 3 bases, then go all Roaches, and pray he doesn't start attacking until I get a decent number out (Ret style), or if I need to cut Drones in order to get enough Roaches out in time.

The counter to 6/7/8 gate pushes is 3 hatcheries early and mass roach/ling/spine.

Yeah, guess if I scout it I'll just throw down a Warren and start pumping Roaches as I can.

One thing I noticed that he does is when he boxes with his mouse, he starts from bottom right .____. AWKWARD.

Some tips!

1. Turn off the thingy that lets you see how long the game is!
2. Higher your mouse scroll so you can follow the action easier!

Heheh, honestly I didn't think about it that much going in, and then suddenly realised I didn't know what name to use, that's definitely one thing I can be better about next time :)

You're right in that it's hard to fill in the first minute or so of the match, but you should find relevant stuff to talk about. Obviously this is much easier with a co-caster, but you can never have dead air. Either talk about the players, the map or both (race strengths/weaknesses on the map).

Not sure how serious you are about the whole casting thing, but overall just be more confident and remember your voice is your medium, so you need to project as much personality through it. Pitch and tone are as important as the content of what you're saying.

Good start though! Wish I knew more about the game so I could take a stab at it, but I'd be better served as the colour commentary that points out the obvious and sets up the jokes.

We should cast the match between Jasonng and Spl1nter so I can make a joke about how Spl1nter hasn't returned to Korea since immigrating to Canada back in '98.

Not very serious, just doing it for fun really, it'd be cool to get a little better as i'm going along though so thanks for the advice :)

Not hard to do. I have a license for X-Split and a microphone. Could probably pick up an actual microphone so we can all be heard without making out over microphone.
