Everyone who saw the footage said it was really cool so be patient and don't judge the thing on poorly captured pics that you weren't even meant to see.

??? @ the screenshots. The backgrounds/trees/terrain all look terrible. Hopefully that's just because it's console version and PC is different otherwise wut. AC Brotherhood/Revelations looks amazing on PC and way different than those shots.

He's saying Ubisoft should stop being pussies and release HD footage online because this stuff is always going to leak so it's better to see the game like that first instead of these leaked jpg compressed youtube-esque screenshots.

I understand but it's to attract people at Ubisoft's booth. Would you wait in line for something you could see in better quality while being in the comfort of your home?
Also, it generates interests (maybe not on GAF) for people to see this exclusive stuff that was shown to a selected few.
It'll surely be released after PAX.
If they wanted to draw people to the booth, they should have set up demos.

I'd rather they work on the actual game then deviate and halt a part of the production to create a demo that'll do as much good as a gameplay video demonstration does.

They already made a demo for the press to play earlier. They could have just as easily used that.
You will be in the wrong fashion and get promptly bitch slapped.
We all know how lazy Ubisoft is. Every single year they release a AC game. I don't think it will be THAT different from other Asscreed games but we will see. From that other screenshot it seems Connor walks exactly the same as Ezio...

Brotherhood and Revelations were the cash-ins, and people still liked those. AC 3 was always designed by Ubisoft to rejuvenate the series after taking a big risk with yearly development for the prior two.

I don't, but I expect a videogame character to have a walking animation that has personality and is fun to look at.
Also, they completely re-did the walking/running animations in AC3. But based on what I read here, you guys already saw that through those crappy screenshots right?
First thing that came to mind when i saw the screens, but they said they remade 100% of the animations, so it might be a coincidence.

I guess you didn't bother researching the game at all, cuz then you'd know that the core ACII team has been working on ACIII for over 2 years now. Other teams made the majority of ACB and ACR.

By the time this game comes out it will have had almost 3 years of dev time and I'm pretty sure it uses a whole new engine so it won't look like the last 3 games.

well, i wanted an interesting setting that was tastefully handled, so it kind of fell at the first hurdle, but i'm not counting it out yet

It's just that sometimes stills that are taken directly from a video might look blurry, which seems to be the case here.
That, or the screenshots released so far are from the PC version or are bullshots.

You should've seen the thread when the first info and screens for Max Payne 3 were released.
They were cursing it, spitting all over it, called for its demise. Now GAF can't wait to play the game.
The first batch of screens for every single Assassin's Creed game to date have been bullshots.
But it's not only the blurriness... Textures are plain but geometry is especially baffling.

They're not using a whole new engine, They're using AnvilNext, just beefed up version of the Anvil engine that they've been using for the previous Creed games.
The 360 versions don't ever look dramatically better so I'm pretty sure that the screens look the way they do because they've already stated that the game is complete and they plan on spending the rest of the year polishing it.

Too many people here just plain old don't listen. I've already described this video in detail and touched on a lot of what people are questioning here and it's like everyone is wearing agenda-tinted glasses. 'this game looks and plays exactly like all the others based on one shakey cam theater screenshot' - thanks for the detailed anaylsis
What games exactly are the bottom two screens of ? I am guessing one of the shogun titles, man I want to play those! But I suck so bad at strategy : (
It's damn near impossible to say anything worthwhile in the ACIII threads without it going ignored. We'd apparently rather talk about whether hoods fit in the time period and 'Merca, Fuck YEAH!. All information practically goes unnoticed and has to be repeated dozens of times before it finally catches on.
