Man, I know this will never happen, but I'd love a "New Avengers" movie. Sony, Fox, and Marvel all team up to make a movie with Cap, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Wolverine, Luke Cage, and the others. It'll never happen.

Pretty much I just want Spider-man in a team-up movie, preferably with Wolverine.

Now that you brought him up, has there been any word on a possible Luke Cage movie? Idris Elba in contention for a possible role?

IDK a movie about people sitting around all day eating chinese food would be kinda boring.

Nice.

But really, if the rumours are true about Dr. Strange and Iron Fist movies, a New Avengers film isn't completely out of the realm of possibility. By the time they would be doing it, who knows, maybe Disney will buy the rights back or pay for rights to at least have the characters in a New Avengers film.

Having not seen the Avengers yet....

Iron Man
X2
The Incredible Hulk
X Men First Class
Thor
Captain America
Blade
Iron Man 2
X1
Blade 2
Punisher (Special Edition)
Blade 3
Spider-Man 2
Spider-Man
Hulk
Daredevil (Special Edition)
Ghost Rider
X3
Fantastic Four
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer
Electra
X: Wolverine
Spider-Man 3

Those CGI claws in the wolverine bathroom scene merits of being on the bottom.

For the guy who was asking: didn't arrive in time to see all the trailers but the UK screening (Odeon) had trailers for at least Prometheus (the first one), The Raid and some other shit I don't remember (probably for good reason)>

All you guys that have seen it, did you see it in 3D or 2D?

And for the 3D ones, please tell me it's not TOO shitty, i only have the option to see it like that :(

I saw it in 2D. There's like two effects that made me go "guess that'd look neat in 3D" but I imagine 2D is the superior option. It's a bright film so I wouldn't like to have it dimmed, either.

I don't think MiB is a Marvel property

Yes it is. Got it when they bought Malibu in '94. Marvel's in the opening credits of the movie.

Not part of the Marvel Universe, I don't think, but it's definitely theirs.

At my Odeon we got the first spidey trailer, MIB 3 and the Dark Knight 'collapsing football field" trailer. Didn't spot anything new in it.

Avengers is everything I could have wanted. Everyone got some cool stuff to do, and the talky bits were entertaining.

And the post credits was pretty intriguing :)

Pie and Beans

Look for me on the local news, I'll be the guy arrested for trying to burn down a Nintendo exec's house.
Seeing it tonight.

People ranking it above Iron Man are getting me excite, as that is probably my favourite comic book movie of all time. Infinitely rewatchable.

Cool. I didn't know that. I always thought MiB was a indie comic

It was, at first. Then Malibu bought the indie publishing company and Marvel bought Malibu. Then Marvel released a few more MiB comics and licensed it for the movies.

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.
Just watched it.

It was ok in my opinion, flashy and stuff. But then again, I'm not a comic book fan.

It's on the level with Iron Man. This has infinitely better action, but the way IM1 develops Tony Stark's transformation into Iron Man is something this film can't touch (although the way the Avengers finally come together has a similar kind of joyous release to the first time you see the completed Iron Man in action).

Yeah you won't get a lot of character development for individual characters, that's what their own movies are about. This is about them all coming together as a team.

Also this movie feels like its action scenes are longer than every previous Marvel movie's action scenes put together, and more satisfying too. As much as I love those movies it always felt like the action was super short.

how can you pick one instance of CG in that movie as being worse than the rest? *twitches*

It stands out because it didnt have to be all CG but they did it, and it was horrible.

That guy jumping into a moving helicopter was loltastic as well.

Saw it a few hours ago and was very impressed. Whedon had a lot of plates to spin and none of them come spectacularly crashing down, so mission accomplished. My one complaint would be that Thor gets left out in the cold a little. He's tied heavily into the story, but it feels as if he has about half a dozen lines in the entire film, and is generally just there to hit things with his big hammer.

this sounds like good thing :)

I agree generally, but there is some relief:
after all, he gets one of the biggest laughs in the film when Hulk punches him from out of nowhere. Not as fun as Hulk swinging Loki around like a ragdoll, of course :lol

Also his line
"he's adopted." got huge laughs in my cinema

I think I will enjoy this more than Iron Man. Iron Man has been the best one so far and I thought it was a very good film and entertaining but I don't hold it as some sort of gold standard for comic book films. I loved how he became Iron Man but the rest, I don't know. All these great reviews are making me extremely hyped for the Avengers.

I like Iron Man, but the praise being thrown on it is surprising. I prefer Thor and maybe even Captain America. And even before them I would place Spidey 2, X-Men First class and maybe even Batman Begins.

Punisher 2004 was good fun. Thomas Jane was a great casting choice and the fight with "The Russian was great. Plus it had that hot milf who played Howard Saint's wife. Unfortunately its hampered by setting the movie in Tampa instead of NYC plus adding those two terribly unfunny sidekicks.

War Zone while, I appreciate the over the top violence was a pretty crappy movie. I wish Marvel studios would try one last crack at the character instead of the Frank Castle buddy- cop show that is in development.

Jane was a fantastic choice, I'll give you that. Thought the movie was tame besides the fight with The Russian.

Just saw it, pure awesomeness.

The action at the end is one of the best directed action I ever saw, PERFECT!

No shakey cam, no ultra-fast cuts so you don't see shit, just one perfect flow for 2-3 minutes, too awesome.

Going back, once again, to my dreams of a Secret Avengers movie: if they were to do such a thing, it'd be neat if they replaced Moon Knight with The Punisher. It would require them to spend less time setting up the character at least, given Moon Knight is a bit of an oddball, and Punisher is both more easily explained, would give a bit of darker flavour to the line-up, fits in with the black ops theme of the team, and given his previous movies he'd strengthen the star appeal of the film.

Oh, and they'd have to get back Thomas Jane, of course.
