Amazon have that weird thing going on where they have a 'pre-order price promise', but in reality can (and do) just cancel your order, don't they?

Not 100%, but if Amazon lists the price cheaper, then you're charged the cheaper price even if it goes up. Same as when the price is listed higher and gets cheaper before the product ships, you're charged he lower amount. I'm more curious as to the response that Microsoft and Sony will have with the prices of their systems.

Yeah they do. Preordered MGS HD for £20. It was £20 for months, and a month before release they canceled most of the orders stating a pricing error.

Pre-order Price Guarantee.

Means nothing if they make a mistake and got the price wrong. They've already canceled pre-orders for me saying they made a mistake.

Anyway, this seems way too low, I'll wait for Nintendo to officially announce the price.

Edit: It says it ships in four weeks lol, no doubt this is a mistake.

Pre-ordered. In case of it goes higher.

If the price is drastically higher, they will cancel your pre-order "by accident" and tell you to order again at the higher price. If you then enquire about getting the price you originally pre-ordered at, they'll own up and say it was in fact cancelled on purpose.

Don't even bother trusting Amazon's pre-order price guarantee, since it's worth hog shit.

Black isn't even available at launch, is it? Strangely, they still won't allow you to pre-order the White.

Obviously they've just placed the Black in the database, and assigned an estimate price and random release day to it.

I still placed an order though, just in case.

That's for the controller evidently, coming next month! They might have a console to go along with that later on.

maybe they sell the GamePad as a separate item?

kidding... but well, Wii is currently 99 (well, it isn't apparently, only the Olympic one, lol) , so it'll launch at double the price of Wii. it rather makes sense considering they are targeting the mainstream...

what's really interesting is July 14th release date; will be super crazy if they really release it in the next month!

is it possible there's an error and this is removed? has this happened before?

Nintendo does not announce UK prices, it's up to retailers.
It's an EU thing. Manufactures aren't technically allowed to tell retailers what to charge for an item. The EU is really harsh on anything that even looks like price fixing. So, Nintendo will never tell us the EU price themselves. They're not allowed to.
