Anyone else reminded of Boyd Crowder (Justified) from Trevor's appearance? I was half-expecting him to speak with the twang of a Kentuckian.
I think you mean Shane Vendrell.

I'm starting to wonder whether or not the press saw actual gameplay.
No mention of the HUD, inventory system, etc.
Either that or they have a gag order.
I have no respect for the gaming press but I can't believe they're that oblivious.
The GI article said that R* told them the HUD in the demo was purely placeholder.
With all of Dan Houser's "We're still working on _______" comments I can't say I'm 100% confident they'll hit Spring 2013.
yes, today i had the horrifying thought of GTAV being delayed to Q4. "we need more time to polish, we want to deliver the best game we can blablabla".
you all know it's going to happen.
Is Carl Johnson in the game?
No. None of the characters from GTA III, Vice City, or San Andreas are in the game. However, a couple of familiar faces from GTA IV may visit the west coast.
YEEEEESSSSS!!!

Come ooooon Yusuf!
Will there be races?
Yes. GTA V has all kinds of races from the looks of it, including dirt bikes and triathlons.

Will Las Venturas and/or San Fiero be in GTA V?
No. Rockstar chose to focus on making one proper city, Los Santos, rather than splitting that effort up into creating three.
Michael's face is weird...especially his mouth. It almost looks like he doesn't wear his dentures lol.

Yeah the first trailer. The first what? GTA5 trailer? I don't think so, it looks the same.
When i read about the wanted system still not being in place and that they were still "thinking about it" i got the same thought. :\yes, today i had the horrifying thought of GTAV being delayed to Q4. "we need more time to polish, we want to deliver the best game we can blablabla".

I hoped they would overhaul it, it wasn't horrible in IV, but RDR introduced the witness thing (that you couldn't directly port in a GTA, but something similar, why not?) and in general, get rid of the omniscent police, i don't want a star if i fire a gun in the woods."Is the Wanted system different in this game?
When I asked Dan Houser about this in the interview, he said he wasnt exactly sure how it would be changing yet. They are tweaking it a bit, but probably not much."
Your answer.

That's a good point, plus the president (i think) of Take Two, in a recent interview, stressed out how important it is for them to release in non-crowded windows.Doubt it. I think Spring 2013 will be locked. They have to launch them because 'next gen' will likely drop in the Fall.
It might be June 18, but it will be spring. (IMO)
Most of GTA4 was a built up area, so I doubt a cop will suddenly appear in the woods when you're hunting...maybe a park ranger? And we have silencers now.I hoped they would overhaul it, it wasn't horrible in IV, but RDR introduced the witness thing (that you couldn't directly port in a GTA, but something similar, why not?) and in general, get rid of the omniscent police, i don't want a star if i fire a gun in the woods.
Absolutely. Sounds like there's quite a bit to see outside of the city. Specific quote about it from IGN's interview today with Dan Houser:Ok so just the one city, i'm cool with that, but will there be maybe a little village or dwelling with a couple houses, a farm or something when you venture outside the main city limits into the rural area then?
This world -- the range of height and between north and south and east and west -- is huge, and it's a real strength. It felt California. Oceans are there and tall hills are there. We wanted those in the game. For us, this kind of world, that was a big properly-realized L.A. and a huge slab of regionally appropriate countryside, felt like the most interesting match to do something new with. Doing other cities just didn't seem appealing. Doing small towns is very appealing.
There's a bunch of small towns and villages and whatnot in there to discover and play around in. Doing other cities, though, felt like it was going to create problems we didn't need. It wasn't going to add to the experience. Of course you could do a game with a bunch of cities now that could be pretty interesting, but we didn't think that was going to be this game. This map is going to be spectacular to people when they start exploring and playing around with it.

They say so in the article. There's several small outlying communities, apparently.

The dialog people criticize is almost entirely in cutscenes and conversations, never in the "kill 50 baddies" sequences. And can a real, professional writer write dialog for those scenes, even if the player goes and blows up a train in the next scene? Yes. I think that the first half of Uncharted 2 has pretty good writing and great character interaction, yet the protagonist runs around killing hundreds of dudes.
Rockstars Proprietary engine is called RAGE (Rockstar Advanced Game Engine).
Has nothing to do with the ID game of the same name.
DH; Always improving, yes. A year ago we have a new platform for motion capture, the best company in the world, Giant, they only work with three or four clients. We are the only company that has games, others are, you know, like James Cameron. They have a very good facial animation. It's amazing when you see the technology that exists now. So all that's new.
As for RAGE, we are using a new version and the results are spectacular. We are also using an updated version of Natural Motion's Euphoria, which is updated constantly ,the guys from Natural Motion come to our company and we work shoulder to shoulder with them ... We are definitely using the most updated versions.
is RAGE licence, any non-R* games using it ?
That one was before they got the actual PS3 specs. Sony tricked them.
Yeah, we've gotten basically no real gameplay information. It's crazy that people can say their hype "is maxed out" already when we still barely know anything about the mechanics.
