He's been working w/ mmg.

Either way i think he's set. Apparently he's deep in the game in a lot of other shit, he just goes by other names when doing them. I think it was Fader that i read that on.
I'm still confused about what he actually produced on GFID. The intro, which doesn't have a beat iirc? He got paid for tha shit lol

That's why I love Game Theory. It's a very dark album that takes some chances and has a frantic energy to it. I really like How I Got Over too, even though much of it is typical Roots in terms of compositions; still it does have some dope beats like Walk Alone and the Newsom sample on Right On.

Roots peeked on Game Theory. Fantastic album. Undun was amazing the first time I heard it, but I never went back to it. Which is the last couple roots ablums for me. Fade into the backgroud very quickly.

If you didn't hear it earlier, I put it on youtube for easier access. I know you have expressed a liking for when I rap like I have mental issues.

Sidd X - Nobody Fucking With You

Peter I want to redo the one with your beat before I put it up anywhere, it was the last song I recorded that night and I was hammered and tired by the time I got to it. I know I can do way better.

When keepin it real goes wrong. Very, very wrong.
I wonder how long it will take for a hip hop album to be as good as kendrick's latest.

The gift/curse of How I Got Over was that all of the best songs were singles. The Fire and title track pretty much shit on everything else on there, save for maybe Dear God 2.0. Still leagues better than undun, but again, I'm not saying it's bad, it's just I have no reason to go back and listen to it. Shit ain't memorable.

Haven't listened to Game Theory, but I've liked pretty much all of the songs I have heard from it.

finally listened to dreams and nightmares. better than expected. same old shit lyrically. tired of dudes talmbout their futures. that shits so fleeting. it doesn't hold up on later listens. that said beats on this are hot, features are picked well, there's some good songs...but its missing that x factor.that depth. personality.

What did you think about Traumatized?

Listening to Blue Chips right now. Liking it. Reinforces the idea in my head that the right production-rapper chemistry makes all the sense with rappers like Bronson, Royce, etc. and that's the reason why Rare Chandeliers wasn't as good as all his other tapes.

All the talk about The Roots and no one mentions Things Fall Apart? Easily my favorite, on par with Game Theory. Phrenology is also underrated, by the way. Their only weak album is The Tipping Point.

It goes: Game Theory = Things Fall Apart = Come Alive > Illadelph Halflife > How I Got Over > Do you Want More??? > Phrenology >> Undun >>>>> Rising Down >>> The Tipping Point.

I don't think I've heard Organix, so not counting it.

I would swap Things for Illadelph.

Meek is far from shallow and is very lyrical, Especially considering the lane he is in

It could be my album of the year
Ive never listened to a westcoast mix til today. not sure why bc 13 BANGS. tybacedgod.

Love the whole flow of the mix

Wouldn't change a thing about it

I'm not saying he's not lyrical... I'm just saying that while its a good album it doesnt tell me that much about Meek himself. What makes Meek Mill's story interesting or provocative? I'm not really pulled in by the whole thing. So it's good, not great for me. it had bangers tho

Exactly. He does absolutely nothing to stand out. Nothing. He's a generic ass rapper with a generic ass lyrical content and generic ass concepts. He's background music at most. He can get a play here and there, but that's about it. He has potential though, if he ever decides to figure out what he's about and stick to it. His flow is nice and he has all the backing in the world. He may put out a great album one year, but that year isn't 2012.

He is that odd neither zone, I think Skeme and Ace Hood edge him out in terms of bangers and hes not as consistently deep as the TDE guys.
