My face while playing Castle Rock

The game looks gorgeous on my projector, though I'm not sure what to think of the soft colours. I don't think it's as vibrant as Origins, but I've only played the demos of both games. The touch control section was surprisingly enjoyable. It was pretty darn easy, but I guess it was more a tutorial than anything else. I'll definitely be picking it up sometime next year, because the gameplay is top notch.

Also, I'm not too sure, but I think it's rendering at 720p. It did look a bit blurry at times, but it might just be my projector needing refocusing. I may be wrong, but either way I'm not too fussed as it still looks bloody amazing.

I did notice Rayman got pretty blurred during the fast paced parts of Castle rock. Still looked good but it almost seemed designed for a 3D effect (that I cannot see)

Not too sure without actual capture footage, but all the press stuff has been 1080p.

Also, a poster here from the first page did some direct captures, and the videos are all available in 1080p.

It was nice to see that Teensies in Trouble was different from the kiosk version, even if they totally nerfed the difficulty of the rotating spike maze as a result.

The new level was totally awesome, especially the music. Hearing the enemies hum Ride of Valkyries as they were deploying their parachutes was a riot.

Just started downloading the sonic demo, it's already at 7% with 50 minutes left, started 5 minutes ago.

Rayman demo is half that so I wonder if it'll take 30-40 minutes

quoting myself :p

but since 10:42 am, its been an hour and 17 minutes and the Sonic demo is finished and the Rayman demo is 85% done, really good speeds this time around, compared to the system update 2 and fifa demo :D

my brother is online on an ipad watching netflix and i am online too looking at neo gaf, wonder how fast it would have went if we both stopped being online

The art style of Legends really pops, imo, moreso than I feel Origins did. While Origins was a pretty game, its art felt like a generic cartoon, rather than something genuinely distinct (for much of the game, anyway).

If Ubisoft can sort out some of the other little niggles I had with Origins, this could be a GOTY contender.

The Castle Rock stage had me smiling the whole time. Very fun demo overall - I think I'll have to buy this.
Same. After I played through it on the kiosk at the store (a week or so prior to Wii U's release), I immediately walked to the counter and preordered it.

Dear lord, the background in the beginning of Toad Story left me speechless. It's so fucking beautiful. And the gameplay is excellent, though I am happy that the Murphy segments are not the majority of the game. It wasn't bad, but it was annoying and can take you out of the experience.

Castle Rock 60fps version hidden in this post. It is up on Rapidshare and I have 30 GB a day, so it should be enough for everyone for now. You don't need an account and should download with full speed. File size is 90MB. Also on YT. New version with 15MB bitrate added, clocks in at 227MB.

Edit: I really liked the demo, the Murfy section was fun. I wonder if a speed run version of the Murfy missions would be better as it gets more hectic.

Just like Origins, any music track with these ,,comedic'' noises and other chipmunk shit is unbearable. Much worse than the New Mario BAHs.
The rest was good though. Murfy sections are alright, if they stay optional.

Anything special happen in the demo if you get all the collectibles?

Nope.

I really wasn't expecting much from this, but I am absolutely stunned at the quality of this demo. My face during the Castle Rock course must have been a picture, especially at the end when I was blasted out of that cannon. Brilliant stuff.

So, how do these levels work in game? Are they randomly varied, or does this demo represent gameplay from various modes? I wasn't aware of the touch-screen capabilities in single-player, so the first level took me by surprise, even if I was initially a little confused as to what the hell was going on.

Anyway, I look forward to picking this up, and in the meantime will be sad when I deplete my demo uses to 0.

I sadly agree with this, lol, although we seem to be heavily in the minority.

But whatever, ultimately it's not a big deal to me, and the music itself is lovely.

Thanks for posting that. Looks great, can't wait to play it when I get home tonight.

Nope.

I couldn't disagree with this more if you paid me. I loth the NSMB BAHs. They literally bring the game's quality and fun down for me. No other music is that bad.

I also like the Rayman music, but everyone is entitled to their opinion.

downloaded it last night, thanks miiverse, game is seriously awesome, cant remember the last time visuals really impressed me, like playing a cartoon. is it 1080p/60fps? if not it feels like it. Touch stuff was great, game was just fun to play. I wasnt planning it, but I may have to get this.

anyone know if the demo supports more players?

it's 1080p. and 60 fps.

and always has been. my brain explodes every time someone questions this.

That is one pretty demo. Solid frame rate too, and pretty fun to boot.

I have a fair amount of interest in this guy, now even more so. Show me some good reviews now and I'm in.

Download and Installation just took 15 Minutes, so no complains here.

it's downloading now. by the time I had exited out of the eshop, it was already 4% done. now why can't the system updates download this quickly? it's already at 77% and I started it about 10 mins ago.

slightly annoyed that there's a demo limit though, I was hoping to show this demo off to some friends over the weekend. guess I'll have to limit the number of times I play it. pretty shitty of ubi or nintendo to implement a demo limit.

The idea of demo limits makes sense, but what would make more sense?

Limits should only be imposed once the game is actually available.
before a game is released it should be unlimited me thinks, or significantly increased.

because no matter how many times you play it, you still cant buy it.

I bet they would have done so if it were possible to enforce a limit only post-release. I commend anyone who actually uses up these full 30 tries, though :p

Got around to playing some coop and contrary to the overall sentiment here I'm looking forward to more murphy levels!

does this demo allow multiplayer? has anyone tried it?

yup and it's great (when you power on an additional controller in the main menu, it spawns a new character next to rayman). Platforming with the wii remote/nunchuk is going to take a bit of getting used to though, nothing beats a d-pad.

Castle Rock sold me on Rayman Legends. so, so good

yep same here. I was skeptical but not anymore. Going to place my preorder soon

Murphy sections were also a suprise. It sounded like they were going to ruin the experience but I found them not too intrusive and funny

demo is really easy though. Hopefully retail's a bit more challenging

the levels do feel really short though.

like a mobile/portable game rather than a console game.

They will have been chosen for that reason, origins had some levels alot longer than this but overall they werent overly long. People said this is the demo that was in kiosk so will have been chosen for short bursts to show off the game as quickly as possible. Looks stunning really stunning cant wait.

Here in Belgium, you can pre-order the game for €39,99, while stuff like Batman/Mass Effect/Darksiders is €55. lol

downloading now, I only played one of the levels in the store demo kiosks, so it'll be nice to get a more in depth look.

the fact that you have to search for the demo is pretty stupid though, they really need to get a "demo" category up on the main page to help promote this.

I'd go one extra step forward and say the eShop icon should blink whenever there's new stuff available...that would make things easier
