I can't even imagine what next gen God of War (or whatever Santa Monica makes) is going to look like. They should make a spinoff set in the same universe with a main character who isn't so boring.

I can agree the demo isn't super obviously superior looking, but they've really improved all the fire/particle FX and animation. I think in the end this game will look better, but probably not by so much that everyone agrees on which is the best looking GOW game.

I always thought, and still think, Kratos is one of the greatest characters there is. don't understand the hate at all really.
I don't think he is the best character but he has some memorable quotes and moments. I loved his debut in GOW1 in the opening cutscene where jumps off a cliff attempting suicide..

Ok, can someone who purchased Total Recall blu-ray tell me how you got the demo? If it really was just on the disc then I will go out and rent it from red box (I actually liked the movie, I just don't buy movies very often).

From the demo, its got some really good and clean IQ. The framerate though wasn't. Felt like the game never even went past 30fps and chugged in a lot of places. Hopefully that was just because of early demo code
The hate is due to GOW3 where he becomes a one dimensional caricature of a god killing machine. People find it juvenile.

Looks good although it looks to me like its similar to Halo 4 in the slight change of tone/scale compared to GoW3.
You'd be sliding your index finger along the touchscreen/touchpad to swing your blade and kill the monster, instead of pressing a button in a QTE.Imagine what their PS4 game will look like!

As far as I'm concerned, God of War 3 is still the best looking PS3 game out. I hope GOW:A retains the same IQ quality, because I wasn't overtly impressed with the multiplayer beta (graphically).

No different from Kratos killing all those greek character in gow2. Gow2 have that one spartan soldier that still anchored kratos down a little, but in the end he lost that one too so it made sense that he is at the most extreme in gow3.
Even then they still try to give more personalities to kratos with pandora, maybe even too much because its so blunt its like shoving it to your face. Gow2 kratos have more flat personalities than gow3 kratos imo.

This doesn't quite reach that at all, but what I'm saying is it looks Sony Santa Monica have improved the particle effects, motion blur, animations, the sharp and clean IQ, and even Kratos model himself over GOW3.
It's not drastic, but I can tell an improvement, IMO.

I still dont get the general Kratos hate. "Why is he so angry and killing everything?" Even people who have played the first game ask this and its baffling since we all know why and it makes sense. Hell I love GOW3 because the cliffhanger on GOW2 was so fucking epic/badass and GOW3 intro delivered within the first hour of gameplay.
Day 1. I will support this franchise because its so good. Those who also state "im tired of GOW!!" like its a game out every year well its not. GOW3 is like 3 years old now, Damn it.

It's been hinted that the plot revolves around the furies torturing him with visions/hallucinations/nightmares/flashbacks(?), which means the devs are freed from adhering strictly to the continuity of the fiction in terms of settings, enemies, and Kratos' abilities. At least I hope that's what they're doing.
My short predictions -
In GoW:A Kratos will break his oath to Ares and cause shitstorm of magical consequences, and we will most probably find out much more about Athena's plans of world domination.
My current theory is that after GoW3 ending she will gather the essence of fallen Greek gods, go to Rome, and resurrect them in Roman pantheon. No matter what happens we will get one nextgen God of War game.

Well Santa Monica had an ending beyond what we saw in GoW3 but they ran out of time to properly implement it. So they opted to instead create a more ambiguous ending and polish up the entirety of the game for launch.
I think they are taking it up north to the Norse, originally I said the Egyptians but that was semi covered in with the Greek, and seems to be a bit explored in Ascension.

I think it's a conjoined twin thing rather than a skin-wearing thing (although the bigger head doesn't look very lively). But yeah, nobody has commented.
This should put some people at ease for a bit after worrying so much even if it's just a 30 second video. This gives us a good tease and I'm sure plenty more is to come but they definitely aren't going to make the same mistakes that they made with GOW3.
I'm genuinely excited that I don't know much about SP since I have faith that it will be fun.

Did a search and apparently you are partially correct. In the US it is on the bonus feature blu-ray disc so you can't even try to rent and get it. But in Europe you simply got a voucher with a code. Maybe someone from EU-GAF will be awesome.
