Haha, etc. I could pick an FF I don't like and say the same thing. Plenty of people enjoy 13. Plenty of people don't. Like every game..ever.. If you don't want to support them, don't buy this or Versus or anything of their's. That's the only way they get the message.

I don't get why they just can't spruce up the high-polygon one (mainly the hair, but other bits too) and always have that in-game.

It's my favourite game of all time and I'm sad to say these screenshots are really disappointing. I didn't expect a remake but Square are usually obsessed with getting the best image quality possible. I mean, FFX had stunning graphics back when it first released, but it doesn't look like that much has been done here.

Maybe the Vita and PS3 versions will be different (with PS3 obviously superior).

I hope this is just early development and they spruce it up some more.

Final Fantasy rides the crest of a nostalgia wave. When there's little of interest in a series' future, it's no surprise desperate fans would be left only with it's past to discuss argue over.

I seriously dont get this.

They are wasting their time with STUPID remakes instead of putting their effort into new games or into games which were announced decades ago.

Why not trying to revive or reboot older series from the SNES-days?

Whats the point of doing all these stupid remakes???

Is it just the money???

They already earn a lot through social games and their other stuff.
So why not just doing their job and please the fans and try to get new fans on board?

Because people want to play FFX in HD on a handheld or on their ps3.

Why do you think the people working on the remake would be people working on a new game?

This can be said about any company..ever. Their number one goal is to make money, not please fans. When the two go in line, great, when they don't, they still put making money over the others. SE is a Japanese company. FFX is a big deal in Japan. They are pleasing their primary customers. And they will make money. A win-win.

It's the exact same thing with Valve and Half Life 3. They'll do it when they want to.

I know next to no info has been given (hopefully E3 changes that)

But I'm assuming this'll have cross save on vita and ps3 righ? I think that would be pretty cool. Also Square randomly deciding to release this on Xbox as well would be cool. The more people who can play the better.

Valve isn't a publicly traded company.

You can be sure if it was HL3 would have come out long ago.

They're not strapped for cash though. When they need it, they'll pull out your FF7 remake card. Till then, let them do what they want. We don't exactly have a choice minus voting with our wallets.

The FF7 Remake card sounds like a death sentence if they fuck it up. And given their recent track record they probably would.

I can't wait for this. I got stuck in FFX and never beat it, but I was 10 or 11 and it was my first non-Pokemon JRPG so I'm thinking that I can probably get through it this time.

Can definitely look better, but I don't care.I'm still super pumped for it. I hope they add some cool new content. Also this would be one if the few games where I'd shell out some extra cash for a nice LE.

So your problem isn't so much that they're remaking games as it is that they're not remaking the games you want them to remake. :)

Anyway, I'm really pleased with this news. FFX is one of my favorite RPGs and I'm glad to hear that the Vita version hasn't been cancelled.

I just wanted to quote this and say again, look at some of the replies just on this page. People genuinely happy for this game that they could have picked up and played anytime for the last 13 years. Even people who'd pay above and beyond for some limited edition. Demand is there, people will pay, and they're happy to. There are also people who probably have never played 10 and use this (like Persona 4 Vita) as an easy way in. So, doing their job, pleasing fans, and getting new fans. Square is a smart company.

True. Thanks, I was racking my brain for exceptions, or marginal cases that still stuck to the rule (ie Ico HD having new content that hadn't yet made it to the US) and this is a useful parallel.

Oh, and guys.

We've been assaulted by way too much Lightning for the past several years now. I really wouldn't worry about the Thunder Plains being a problem.

I wouldn’t mind if they tweak the Chocobo race to make it a bit easier. I was able to dodge all the lightning bolts, but couldn’t finish the Chocobo race no matter how many times I tried. I needed to ask a friend of mine to finish it for me.

Well, iam not gonna buy this.

Its ok to offer all these old games again as a digital title like the ps one games on psn, but the whole thing with HD/trilogy/classics is simply a rip off for fans.
have a look at the silent hill hd collection, prince of persia or sly collection: did not receive enough treatment to milk people 40 bucks out of their wallet.

have a look at remake of resident evil 1. the gc version was soo ÜBER.

when you compare ffx (original version) to the hd version, and if this game is still going to be released on the ps3, it wont catch up.

Neither do I. It's more the complaints about the graphics who grind my gears here. I like how demanding the fan-base can become, but it sometimes reaches the realms of spoiled brats if you ask me. Chances are, it will get better more by the time, after a decade of debacle.

You also need to remember that there are a lot of people who never had a PS2 and therefore never played the original FF X. So this gives them a chance to play one of the best in the series (IMO).

I do agree though, you need to be careful which remasters you buy. I wanted to buy the Silent Hill and PoP remasters, but stayed away from them when I heard how poor of a job they were.

But usually you need to be worried about something like that when the remaster is contracted out. As far as I am aware, the remaster for FF X HD is being handled in house.

Prince of Persia and Silent Hill were crappy, buggy ports with tons of graphical issues.

And, I could, conceivably, finish all three prince of persias before I reached the halfway point of FFX.

I'm fine paying 40 bucks for this portable. Honestly, they could release it as is and the benefits of having it portable would be enough for me to justify its cost.

I just want something new. Not everyone can feed off re-releases of old games. It can give some the viewpoint that a company can't produce any new idea's and concepts and relies on past successes.

My standards are considered high because there are many who in fact have no standards or assume they do but know nothing of the standards they claim they have.

Some could say my standards are so high because I actually expect Square to lay off Final Fantasy and explore other area's. Different IP's or even some of the old one's they outright abandoned.

FF isn't the only thing they can make or in this case, re-release.

I'm not gonna buy this either. I haven't bought a single HD remake this entire gen. They're cash ins. But again..look around..a thread of people who will rebuy a 13 year old game at full price. Same thing with Wind Waker HD. There's an audience. No company can please everyone. Some people here hated 13 and want to buy this. I don't want to buy this and loved 13. There ya go.
