I'll still bump Weezy once in awhile particularly some of his mixtapes and Tha Carter II and III.

You may not like his style/voice or the fact he's Pop now(which he is) but dude put out some fire pre TCIII.

Haven't listened to TCIV yet.

i'm not gonna lie i enjoy no worries from lil wayne. he goes all in on it and then just goes super saiyan full retard mode towards the end.

he used to be pretty decent imo. now he's just entertaining, laughing at (and sometimes with) him now.

Slow Motion was that shit in high school after I thought Juve was long done.

But no, even without the drugs they would've never reached Wayne's status.

Wayne officially reached pop star status with Mrs. Officer IMO.

Juve and BG were also the real faces of the Hot Boys when they came out. Juve was basically the "star" and BG was would most considered the best rapper of the group. Wayne was just the dude who was better than Turk. Which just meant he was partially alive.

Nah- ms officer and lollipop were poppy, but Wayne was still making decent music and actually rapping. I don't mind when rappers shift lanes to make a radio single if the rest of the album delivers and for the most part c3 was good.

Yeah Tha Carter III is more varied than he's previous work even if it's in a different lane. I think to enjoy Wayne in this day and age you have to accept that he's switched lanes. Even if that means it came alongside a slight drop in consistency and quality.

they wouldn't be as big as lil wayne but i think juvenile did have a shot with slow motion. if he stayed with cash money and stopped with the dumb shit and just kept putting stuff out i think he'd be a pretty big name still.

I cant imagine juvie making an album that'd get received as well as C3. The thought of that is just amusing.

It's not amusing if you were listening to Wayne come up and desperately wanting to be Juve. Listen to Go DJ again. That Wayne was on Juve's nuts so hard he owes that fucker rent. And he did have a very well regarded album - he's a 3x plat rapper. If it had been Wayne in those days and Juve in the days of ringtone bullshit raps, Juve would be in his place.

I was. Thats why imaging a commercially successful Juvie in todays musical cimate (last 5 or so really) is amusing to me.

dude doesnt do any press or engage w/ fans. any of the shit that regular (desperate) celebs do. But the rants keep his name in the news. Nobody actually takes them seriously though. At least smart people dont.
