Bioshock Infinite |OT| No Gods, Kings, or Irrational Games

How did the research work in SS2? Do you just find research material as you wander around the world?

That I wouldn't be opposed to.

You would pick up items (organs, etc.) from dead enemies, and you could select one at a time to research. The bar would passively fill up as you went about your business. At certain percentages of completion, the research might require a specific chemical element, which you'd have to get at one of the various storerooms spread across the station. So the process was almost entirely in the background; you just needed to pick up and carry the right items for the duration.

Some off-screen ps3 footage, looks good to me.

edit: it's the opening segment

Your prerogative, but you're fools for waiting so long to play the game then instead seeing it via shitty offscreen vids of someone else having the experience you've been wanting to.

True that. Holding off until Los Angeles release party.

It's still driving me insane.

Watching a featurette or something is one thing, but watching someone else play an entire segment and spoiling that part for yourself?

Not for me.

Yeah I never got this mentality too.

*waits 5 years for game, spoils it in last week because of impatience*

I'd still love to know how games get leaked so easily these days. Like how does it leave the development studio and end up on the pirate bay etc. before it even hits shelves

For the record, I am just watching a bit of the intro just to see the PS3 version because that is the version I will be playing. Seems great, despite being a low quality recording.

So confused and worried, Game sent me an email saying my Songbird edition order was cancelled. Yet on the website it says its shipped, I'm unable to reorder due to "sold out".
I've had it preordered since the songbird edition was announced :(

Why would they do this....

Maybe you should ask why they are able to do this. Why they are able to? I mean Sony nearly always sends stuff that can work on certain firmwires (its called dex), so even if the reviewers sell it, hand it, it does no good to piracy. Maybe you should ask to PR departments of the companies why they send retail signed games to people. And instead of just standard promo disks why they send special boxes filled with goodies, retail copies and sometimes hotel invitations. Also maybe you should ask why they invite people to Miami to play preview builds as well. So many questions should be asked before that one. Maybe exclusive interviews and 9mbergoes should be asked too...

Edit:

Games Journalism!

No integrity whatsoever.

The lack of integrity is on behalf of PR companies and the system as well.

Last Edit: This is the integrity of the PR companies as well as gaming journalists. I can add a hundred like this one if you would like me to. So before devs should talk about the press integrity they should talk about their producer's integrity on exclusive reviews and exclusive interviews as well... And maybe about their PR departments too.

Here is your INTEGRITY

This is bullshit, guys. Somehow we're all on a high grade gaming forum and still act like we don't know how they work. Don't post spoilers -- that's the obvious part. Beyond that, don't post PS3 links in here. Don't quote people who are discussing unreleased elements of the game. If someone is doing that stuff, let you're eyes pass over and let the post fade. Don't boot it along for more people to trip over.

Sorry, but I've been waiting goddamn years for this. I don't feel like I should have to "bailout," I want to discuss the game.

EDIT: And shouldn't the IGNorant review be released late tonight (EST)? It says 12:00AM on the 21st. That's later this evenin' in my book.

I always thought the leaks have always come from somewhere in the distribution channel (some person working in shipping/someone bought it early from a mom and pop store etc...). I mean with DD, you never hear of day 0 piracy for the PC SKU..

Spoken like someone who scored an early copy for free.

"Its not my fault, its theirs!"

Is the Greenman gaming the best deal for PC? $60 for the game, Bioshock 1 and another game plus Xcom and $14 cash back... I own all the other games but still...

That is probably the best deal right now, yeah.

Currently polling second in Australia's federal election (first in the Gold Coast), this feral may one day be your Bogan King.
Okay, so I just watched the Creating Elizabeth trailer. Is the soundtrack that string heavy?

Not gonna get into this in public, especially as you've privately told me to "fuck myself," but this is some skewed thinking -- and its orthogonal to the issue. I truly doubt I need to say much more, though, when you're equating a company inviting media to a press event to view a product on one hand, and a media member accepting a review copy with several layers of security protection and then making it available for piracy.

Is there still move support and such? Not sure what platform to get it for. Standard trouble of achievements/trophies, 360 controller triggers/dual shock, engine performance etc. PC is not an option probably.

Derp, I looked at the game cover xD

Good thing you weren't here a few hours ago. Considering I didn't even know the name of the lead female character in the game until last night, I'm a bit salty that I might know how it already ends.

Alyx Vance.

Joking aside, I'd feel the same way if I had been on full media blackout for anything and something similar happened. It's a quick way to potentially be deflated.

Is such a thing even possible?

So are you saying the ending was posted here?

What you posted as a reply is not a discussion of sharing a game for piracy due to obtaining an early copy, it's about the integrity of PR. It's not even the same discussion.

Try again.

Bioshock 1 wasn't all that string heavy, it was more 1950s style music

Bioshock 1 is incredibly heavy on strings, the composer did that on purpose because they have sort of a watery sound to them.

Is string heavy a bad thing?

If the implication is that the music sounds too similar or something, I would strongly disagree. String music of the Bioshock infinite era differs greatly from the 50s Bioshock era.

The early 1900s have a very hearty sound that is a lot less "classic" in it's make up.
