Xbox One is huge

Okay so I measured the XboxOne based of the USB port on the side. A USB port is about 1.3 ~1.4 CM wide. With that knowledge I came to know that the XboxOne is about 25cm depth and 30cm wide.

Now for comparison the:
PS3 Phat: 32.5 cm (w) x 9.8 cm (h) 27.4 cm (d)
PS3 Slim : 29cm (w) x 6.4cm (h) x 29cm (d)
X360 Phat: 30.9 cm (w) x 8.3 cm (h) x 25.8cm (d)
X360 Slim: 27cm (w) x 7.5cm (h) x 26.4cm (d)
Original Xbox: 32cm (w) x 10cm (h) x 26cm (d)

Now from my calculations I get these dimensions for the XboxOne: 29.5cm (w) x 7.5cm (h) x 24.7cm (d)

Note that the scale difference between the left and right picture is about 2.111*

A lot of you are hypocrites. A lot of you have said we wanted a media rack look to our consoles and now we get it .. it is all boooos and groans.

I think it looks awesome. Right up there with the ps2.

That would make the one as small as a 360 S

This is my first time seeing it. Definitely looks like they designed it more to fit in with the boring conservative looks of all other home entertainment electronics rather than a video game console. And yeah it does look pretty huge.

It looks more than twice as wide as the controller. So my guess is roughly 33cm...

PCs are not big rectangles.

Yes, yes they are.

Either way, I like the design a lot. It's clean and sleek, not some arched bullshit or curved nonsense while every other electronic device I have (receiver, cable box) has abrupt edges.

I hate rounded electronics. I absolutely loathed the PS3 design, loved the Wii, and the Xbox Slim was getting there.

This is exactly what I want sitting on my open shelf rack. I don't think it's all that big either compared to other electronics. Shit, I owned the PS3 phatty and that was on par with OG Xbox.

It kinda looks like a bizzaro OG PS3: same overall look but very square instead of very round, and with the drive on the opposite side.

You have a collection of threads where people in this one asked for a "media rack look"? Or you just have a good memory?

I'm sad that both Microsoft and Nintendo went with the blandest console designs ever. The One and the Wii U both have no character at all.

However, I'm trusting Sony to put out a sexy device.

Looks as big as the PSX but not as classy

I think it would look good if it was half the height and 3/4 of the width it currently is, it just looks too chunky and not at all like a video game console(which is maybe what MS was going for....)

It looks like one of those things you buy to hold your VHS tapes. Can't wait to see all the old pics and gifs of the OG Xbox return for encore performances.

Can it even be laid vertically? It's so big it has to, I couldn't even lay it horizontally near my TV in my configuration.

Just checked the Sessler thread and the new controller is roughly the same size as the old controller. And the old one being 15cm wide, I'm sticking to my last prediction of this new console being at or about the 33cm wide mark. Definitely over 30cm though.

How are people calling it pretty? Looks like a PC tower Dell put out almost 10 years ago.
Seconded...
I red somewhere "sleek design"....
Son, that's the definition of ugly...
It's a fusion of a vcr and an htpc that aims to emphasize a large square object devoid of elegance and ugly as shit...
Not even considering spec, price, dem and whatnot...
Wii u design is great, ps4 acceptable at most...this? Fire the designer for the case....
