Just bumped into Andy Murray and asked him whether it's correct he's donating his entire prize-money to Royal Marsden. Not correct.

Apparently he did it for Queens and some people assumed he'd do it for Wimbledon too.

Either that or they're just making up shit for the fun of it.

Kinda fucked up people assumed that. Now he looks bad because he isn't.

How do you fail to see how it undermines your point about putting golf above or on parity to Wimbledon? Even the government relegates golf.

Honestly, and this is just my opinion, I'd put things like formula one above golf even. Doesn't get a lot of participation, but viewing figures are probably higher in my opinion.

Heck, I'd put snooker above golf too.

Its only the final of Wimbledon that is currently Cat. A, for such a huge sport why isnt the rest of it? Look at some of the other sports in Cat. A too, the national for one. List means little.

Snooker bigger than golf? Pls. I guess darts is too?

but the rest of the championship is category b, same as golf...

The point about snooker and formula was just my opinion, but it seems at least one study supports me.

Anyways, it was nice discussing this. It's rare to have a civil discussion on gaf. Too rare.
Gotta rush to a bbq.

Delighted for Murray. Not my favourite player as I've said a few times - will always love Federer more, prefer Nishikori, Tsonga, Tomic and Del Potro right now - but I'm glad he beat Djokovic, and he did it in style. Certainly not as boring as some make it out to be, and the only ones who still pull the Scottish/British bollocks are salty turkeys who can't stand him for the reason he... gets a bit angry sometimes and he looks like a rat?

I'd like to see Murray go back to that hairstyle. Though knowing him, the weight of it might give him a neck "injury"

Yeah I was thinking the scousers look. It would suit him I think and give him some much needed court personality. He'd instantly become the most popular player in the game.

UKGB! UKGB! UKGB!

... nah we really suck at nationalism. Being proud of our achievements isn't very British. But it's nice to let go every now and again!

Hmm, I remember watching an entirely different closing montage on the BBC today. imo was far more moving. It showed all the Wimbledon credits and lots of different footage from Murray as a child mixed in with it. Remember thinking it was pretty epic at the time. Still pretty cool though.

That was the end credits for the men's final; the one posted here was the end credits for the whole tournament.

Could only find 2012s for the specific post-Final montage. It'll turn up, I'm sure.

(All this got me digging out some of the Epic Montages from the Olympics, god, I love the Beeb.)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tpt6liq9cyo is the one you're thinking of. (No, wait, that's 2012)

It was actually for the whole tournament. Because it was showing a montage of all the matches including womens etc. showing Federer/Nadal/Serena get knocked out. I'm gonna have to dig it out of the internet from somewhere xD

It'll be on iPlayer for now, at least. If I remember, I'll have a go at capping it if someone more competent hasn't done so by then.

I love it, they got at Henman for not showing emotion and now get at Murray for showing too much.

Bunch of pricks.

They do this all the time.

England national team in football..."No Passion"...as if passion is the missing ingredient to ending Englands football drought...o_O

Finished editing. Where can I upload it where it won't get jacked straight away? If I put it on dropbox you can all direct-view it in your browser I believe, so is that ok?

OK, I sweated out all the salt (literally), lol.

I just hope that Djokovic and Murray don't meet as often in slam finals. They are the most boring match-up out of the entire top 4. But since they're probably gonna be 1 and 2 for a while, I guess I shouldn't hold my breath

Ha no worries. I'd only mentioned Rory as a fleeting example, I didn't expect I'd have to then start defending golf as a sport :p He probably will get one some day, just not yet.

That's okay, as a Murray fan I still have absolute faith that there is no-one in the current professional circuit that he can't lose embarassingly to.

i'd say the US open is certainly gonna be a rerun

Thing is with Del Potro is I just don't have confidence he can win over 5 sets on a hard court with his current fitness. If he wants to take out Murray or Djoker, he has to be ruthless and do it quick.
