Wii U Games 2013

How do you like it compared to Origins? I thought it was pretty fun but overall much eaiser to 100%, kind of disappointing in comparison to the amazingness of Origins. Great game, don't get me wrong. Just not GOTY for me like Origins was.

So far I like it a lot better than Origins. I played Origins on Vita so it was a completely different platform though. I haven't made enough progress to really make up my mind but so far so good!

I think MK8 has to release in March if they want to have any chance to reach the 9 million WiiU units sold in this fiscal year.

Well, they DON'T have that chance to begin with. They're maybe at like, 4 million right now? If they're lucky they'll sell another million between now and March.

Mind you, if they do I'll be cool with it. Nintendo winning is a good thing.

Hey guys, didn't know where to post this so I thought i'd ask here.

With the Lego CIty Underground Wii U bundle in the UK, is it a download code or a disc?

Do you really expect them to sell over 5 million consoles in basically 3 months?
even then, their fiscal year ends in March, considering Spring starts in the same month you're leaving to MK8 the massive almost nuclear job to sell them in matter of days...

The only reason I ask is that i've seen conflicting information like this here. It states in teh description it is a code :/

There is even the disc box picture on the bundle box. And when there is a download code it is stated clearly on the box.

I should have my Lego edition turning up today or tomorrow so I'll find out soon.

Great game. Really blew me away at the time. I finished the story (like 20+ hours) and have 100% just 2 sectors in the map. Still have to do the other sectors and replay all the missions with all the powers. Lego games are great to 100%.

Very well written, so funny and charming.

If you check the thread on amazon it says that it is a physical copy.

The physical box is also on the actual box. I find store descriptions not very trustworthy most of the time.

CHeers for the info guys, i'm torn between this and the NSMBU/NSLU set as i'll be buying the Wii U with SM3DW so don't know if I need another Maro game straight away

I completely agree.
Donkey Kong Country was not the game they planned on getting those sales.
I think they probably planned on originally two titles: MK8 and Smash Bros to make it happen. Its not like people will have to buy consoles the day those games come out.
They are hoping people buy the console in anticipation of those games in the period from Xmas to March.

It could be why Reggie is going to the VGA awards to make such announcements,
or, there will be a direct coming in January.

I would be very, very surprised if Zelda comes out next year. We've had two Zelda games at the tail end of 2013 already and even by Nintendo's standards, releasing another one only a year later would risk ridiculous over-saturation. As a major flagship title, I suspect they'll also give it more than two years' development time.

The WiiU had two Zelda titles?
I think you should see it this way:
This last Zelda is meant to wet people's appetite for next year's Zelda.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Iwata even said this in the Nintendo Direct. Additionally, it'll give EAD more experience working with the Wii U and hopefully make Zelda U even better.

So I have a question:

I have Nintendo Points in my local currency, which is SEK. But I have a UK account on my Wii U. Apparently I can't redeem these points on my UK account. Do I have to create a new, Swedish account? And if so, what disadvantages will it create (or could in the future) having two different users on the same machine?

It didn't "mega bomb". ;)

Should be at 400.000 - 500.000 units by now.

And it's one of those titles which will sell forever anyway.

What, really? I haven't heard anything regarding how the Wii U version sold. Do you have a source for those numbers?

I agree that it's a title that will have long legs.

Picked up Splinter Cell Blacklist at 25$ from GS. Won't be getting around to it till after I finish SM3DW, Sonic, WWHD though.

Leaves me with Rayman Legends, Deus Ex, and Mario & Sonic to finish up my collection through 2013.

It was in the NPD Top 10 was it not?

Well deserved if it did that well, it's a gem of gems, the humor is hysterical, you can explore a ginormous city with no load times while doing so (the long load times are when starting the game and between missions).

This is is a game for the Nintendo crowd, perfectly matched. And I got it for $20 at Shoppers Drug Mart in Canada! :D

Bought Rayman off of Amazon for $24. I'll get Lego City too at some point. The Lego games are great, and I'm glad the Wii U's getting Lego Hobbit also.

Not really a games related question but here it goes: what (liquid) should I use to clean the GamePad's screen? I have always felt like it's a little dirty or rather just not as clear as my 3DS XL's screens for example. Is that normal? I wish I could explain the issue more clearly but I've always felt like the screen was dirty out of the box.

Touch of water or screen cleaner is all I can really recommend. :p

I know it's such a weird issue (because I could swear it was like this out of the box!) but I guess I'll try some screen cleaner from wherever.

Nintendo says to use water only, for whatever that's worth.

How to Clean the Wii U GamePad Screen
Description:

Step by step instructions on cleaning the Wii U GamePad Screen

Important Note!

Do not use any solvents or cleaners of any kind.

Do not submerge the system in water or other liquids.

Do not pour water directly on the screen.

What to do:

Slightly dampen a soft, cotton cloth with water ONLY and wipe off the screen.
Using a dry portion of the same cloth, wipe the screen dry.
Using a loop of transparent tape, dab at any remaining dust or smudges.
Repeat if necessary.

Famitsu, NPD & a good guess for Europe. :p

The bundle should push it's sales furthermore.

Edit:
I wan't a new Nintendo Direct.

Well if they are going to announce something that matters at VGX I think they need to have a Direct next week telling Nintendo fans to tune in. Otherwise I'd say it's a show that doesn't reach many Nintendo fans.

Plus now with ALBW and 3D World out of the door it's time to start hyping the next big thing from Nintendo. Donkey Kong is one. What else?
