Opening the thread with a Street Fighter V tangent was unnecessary and you know it.
Glad I'm not the only one who noticed the shade. Anywho, looking forward to more Arms content.

Honestly, Balrog or Dudley would be awesome guest characters.
Well dang. Can I still get them if I boot up Splatoon 1, or was it time-limited?
I don't anticipate Little Mac being added, tbh. Maybe a character inspired by him, like an ARMS-universe take on him. But not the OG Little Mac himself. His arms don't stretch.
Was that only in Japan? It's cute but I don't recall acquiring those.
No shade, dude. I loved SFIV (on a casual level anyways) and will get the new one for my PS4 Pro once the complete edition is out.Glad I'm not the only one who noticed the shade. Anywho, looking forward to more Arms content.
Honestly, if "Surprise" turns out to be a guest character, I feel like this lovable chap would make the most sense (at least IMO):
All memes aside, he actually fits the design of ARMS like a glove considering his whole shtick is his stretchy arms, lol. I always thought it'd be kinda weird to see Little Mac with extendable limbs.

I thought about this, but I wonder why they went with the wrong spelling of "tail" then.Maybe the twin tale one refers not to the hair style, but a creature with two actual tails like a Nekomata?
How about

Oh man, what if Twintale is an actual animal that runs around on all four legs while fighting with its two tails? ARMS' first quadrupedal fighter.I mean, the hairstyle is also spelled tail so I don't see how that matters. Most likely just poor english on the part of Japanese programmers
I'm guessing a few of these are placeholders for existing fighters. It's not like Nintendo ever intended for this list to get out.
I'm wondering if some of these strings were doubled or aren't intended to represent unique characters. Ninjara is obviously Ninja, but could also be Chain, Twintale is too similar to be mere coincidence, and Robo is also Byte and Barq.
Seems like a situation where plans changed down the line for some of these.
Yeah it got a Squid Girl costume set:

Unfortunately we already got a hard no on Luffy from the producer.

It doesn't seem like it's due to change anytime soon either.
As you may have heard, ARMS is doing very well, having sold 1.1 million copies in just two weeks. For perspective, Street Fighter V only reached 1.7 million after 17 months, and that's with access to an install base of 60 million users
Is there a reason why they'd change the codenames mid-development instead of just using the (other, equally short) codenames they already had in place?Yeah, this is what I was thinking, too.
The octobot fist makes a lot of sense as a weapon, it would just have to be attached to an unrelated fighter. There's no Blind fist currently so it'd fit right in.If there's a Nintendo guest character, I want Octavio

I can see the possibility with Chain, Robo and Twintale. The other six seem unrelated to anyone else, though.
The game sold 1.1 million in two weeks, which is amazing for a new IP.It's too bad the game sold badly and has no legs.

Oh snap! You might be onto something. :-OWait. Doctor "C". "Coil".
Doctor Coil?
Oh snap! You might be onto something. :-O
Might actually be 17 total, since as others have noted, a few of the codenames could be redundancies.20 would be damn insane. I'd be impressed if they managed that

I think this is the most well-reasoned prediction yet. :-OMakes sense to me: mad scientist with Tesla Coil ARMS. Perhaps wielding the rejected "Chestlok" model mentioned in the ARMS Labs Journal?

Man, you're full of good ideas! Especially that Twintale theory.Chain could be Ninjara's Sensei. Robo could be anything robotic. Twintale could possibly be a "bizarro" Twintelle made by ARMS Labs' experiments on her hair?
