Toa TAK good lord you are very annoying. I thought it was only on the other thread with me, but it seems it is with everyone.
Legit laughed at this, thanks.

And yes, true to life, I am very annoying.
You probably missed the Original games then.
Oh yes, the original Call of Duty game where it included a Hollywood-style car chase (which is also in 2), solo infiltration of a Nazi base, and going in and out of a German sub in a four man team as the Brits.

Call of Duty has always been coded in that kind of style. That's what makes it fun to play.

I don't even know how to respond to that.

But I don't get why you draw the line at women. Multiplayer modes always take a lot of creative freedom. For example, you brought up BF1, which is a game that many people have noted takes a lot of creative freedom when it comes to weaponry. The number of automatic weapons that you see in the multiplayer mode is simply unlike anything that was going on during that period. That was a war primarily fought with single shot weapons.

That's what's ridiculous about the whole issue. DICE didn't want to have women in multiplayer because it wasn't historically accurate, but they had no problem with maps primarily being fought with automatic weapons, as if that's even remotely historically accurate. They decided that it was okay because it made the game more enjoyable than running around with bolt action rifles. Sledgehammer has decided that for some they'll find their multiplayer more enjoyable if they can play as a female character. And unlike with BF1, that won't actually change how the game plays.

those wapons were around at the time, though.
it is not like, they put fictional weapons, or weapons intruduced years later in the game.

and again. French resistance group with females would be totally fine.
or if the red army was in this game, which had female soldiers.

Where was I? Well I was displeased with the non-faction specific weapons, dog streaks and the ability to run around with a Browning HMG. But, the game (and MP) still had just enough of a historical vibe to cop WWII feels (still preferred the maligned COD3 at the time tho).

For the record, I welcomed the inclusion of female characters in Ghosts (last COD I spent significant time with) but yeah, someone who doesn't want female Nazi troopers in their MP is clearly just a misogynist, right?
ha, ha.
same here.

only used guns, according the the faction I was playing at.

Kinda want to see the Nazi Zombie mode exo zombies was the crappiest out of the clones. The infinity ward one is okay but still is leagues behind treyarch.

I do look forward to the campaign and multiplayer even if the zombies mode is crap again.

Honestly they all should just let the Treyarch dlc crew do all zombie maps just make a new story and let them do the gameplay.

Battle of the Bulge and Hurtgen Forest. Yet people will stay say it's recycled horseshit. I feel sorry for them.

•Gore confirmed

Good, good.

•The Battle of the Bulge will be in the Campaign

Not too surprising, but good to have confirmation. Now that I think of it, I can't remember the last FPS that depicted the Ardennes Offensive. CoD: Finest Hour? MoH: European Assault?

•No playable Axis in Campaign

A shame, but expected.

•No infinite sprint

Hooray!

I don't find unlimited sprint make much of difference in terms of pace of the game, it's just annoying to keep pressing that left thumb-stick.

I think it will have a greater impact in multiplayer than the campaign. Not being able to at full tilt without rest surely has an effect on the flow of online matches.

It makes a major difference. Just the difference between Battlefield 2142 and Battlefield 3, and the difference between the original Battlefront 2 and EA Battlefront; it massively changes the pace of the game because everyone can just rush everywhere and not need to worry about cover when they run out of sprint.

Really hope Sledgehammer is doing an original take on Zombies with it's gameplay instead of being just Treyarch zombies.

I'd love one with Walking Dead type of zombies. Slow but hard to kill.

I'd really like Divisions to not be like Synaptic in Infinite Warfare, where one division is so much better than the others that there's no point to using anything else.

Since Sledgehammer is developing WW2, how do people view AW in hindsight? I took a long hiatus from CoD; MW3 burned me out, and I didn't pick up the series until BO3 so I don't have direct experience. The impression I've received of AW seems to be a well-received SP, and a MP with good ideas ruined by bad execution.

What were specialists and combat rigs? Haven't played CoD since BO1, so I'm not familiar with the changes made in recent games.

They were essentially "character killstreaks" that gave your character a weapon/power after a certain period of time. Think ultimate in Overwatch if you are familiar with that. Some of them were extremely OP or just plain unfair.

This was essentially an instakill in a radius of an area that you jumped to

This one let you time travel back a few seconds (Like Tracer's power in OW)

This was basically a OHK golden gun

This was a OHK bow and the arrow also had explosives attached to it, so if you missed you could still do damage/kill someone.

There was also a flamethrower that lasted way too long at ate people alive, among other things. They basically just gave the people who were really good and would rack these up quick even more kills to dominate everyone else. These were all from BO3 btw. The Combat Rigs in IW were very similar.

All of these on top of regular killstreaks? Gross. I was hoping WWII would, if anything, minimize the impact of killstreaks.

Guess we'll have to wait for the MP reveal to know for sure.

They're not really killstreaks as supers are on a slowly charging timer. In BO3, more skilled players can earn more charges of their super, but even Timmy No Thumbs can mash their bumpers for a free kill with Gravity Spikes once or even twice a game.

I'd say the majority opinion in the community is against supers in CoD. While certain supers were annoying, I've had fun with supers, and they do help bridge the skill gap for newer players.

This was honestly one of the more fair specialty weapons.
You really had to be dead on compared to other regular weapons(lower auto aim)
Fire rate was low and you only had a few shots.

It legitimately worked best as a sniper.

On the other hand the bow is slightly slower but does the same thing, has a wider hit area and then explosives on top of that.

While this will be the first cod I buy since the first black ops, does anyone else notice how fake the explosions and effects look in this game?

Is it because the game engine hasn't changed in over a decade or what?

AW has one of the better campaigns, I'd say its a potential top 5 contender. MP was more of a mixed bag and I'd say the majority, at least on GAF, didn't like it. A lot of it was due to how the movement system worked. I personally really enjoyed it, far more than BO3 and Infinite Warfare anyway, but I understand I'm in the minority.

Speaking of BO3 and IW, I really didn't like specialist/combat rig systems in those games. I get hero shooters are big right now but CoD is better of without it imo. I really hope WWII tries to veer away from it.
