Cloth Map is a video series that explores how games impact the lives of people around the world. Games are a universal concept, but can take drastically different forms from culture to culture. By exploring these differences, I hope to not only expand our definition of ”games," but also remind ourselves that no matter our background, everyone on Earth loves having a good time.

First time I've ever subscribed to a Patreon. Drew's a great guy, and his North Korea/Iceland videos are two of the best in Giant Bomb's history, and that's REALLY saying something.

Wish I had money to back this. It's awesome seeing people break away from big game sites and do something with a scope like this.

The travelogue videos are some of the best content on Giant Bomb, so I have no doubt that this will be fantastic.

This is so great. Drew is fantastic, between him and Danny we're living in a golden age of game docs from all kinds of perspectives. Easy decision to back him on Patreon.

I will undoubtedly throw money at this. NoClip has been fantastic and I can only imagine how good this will be. Good luck, Drew!

Great news, hope he can achieve all his goals in this project, Drew is an amazing guy and the Iceland video shows how great at stuff like this he can be.

The Iceland and Korea travelogues were cool as shit, glad to know he's going on that same line

Also perfect time to turn that meme money into Patreon Powerbucks

This looks amazing. I also like that he spared himself from only focusing on video games because that opens the amount of cultures and viewpoints he can cover.

So if I'm understanding the pitch correctly, this is a travelogue that'll peer into, for example, the wonderful worlds of: nordic lawn games late in the evenings of midsommar, after-school board game clubs in NZ, little old ladies sitting around smoky mats in Japan gambling at mahjong, an uncle's weekly bridge night, that sort of thing? I hope so!

Not gonna lie I honestly thought this was going to be about being able to buy custom cloth maps from video games and I was super excited.

He's a great guy but he was the least knowledgeable about video games at Giant Bomb (and that's saying something) so I'm not quite understanding why someone would pay to watch him make "explore the people, places, and cultures of the world through the lens of games".

Looking forward to seeing what Drew has in store, sounds like a really cool project. Wishing him the best of luck!

Personally getting abit financially tired of all these Patreon's in gaming though. There's a subscription for everything these days, I have them coming out my eyeballs.

This seems really rad. I love all the new ideas coming into the gaming industry, pushing further than just basic review/news commentary (though I still love that stuff too)

This sounds crazy ambitious! Hope this works out, it sounds like it'll be really awesome if he can fund a few trips. I haven't watched the North Korea video he did but the Iceland and South Korea stuff for Giant Bomb was sweet.

not really keen on paying for his vacations

I mean, hey, we don't know that this isn't a big scam, I guess. If you're really that worried, don't subscribe to the Patreon and see how the first few videos work out. I'm willing to give Drew the benefit of the doubt and then some on this, though.
