Immersive sim Consortium: The Tower crowdfunding on FIG (100%; tier discounts inside)

After an unfortunately unsuccessful Kickstarter, the devs at IDGI are trying again on FIG

Edit: using the discount links being shared in the thread offer a $10 discount on the $50 and up tiers
Also, the first Consortium is currently on sale for $3.99/60% until April 20th. These threads have some GAF impressions on what made that game unique and worth checking out

The experience of The Tower is one of absolute freedom of movement, speech and action, within a single-location, sandbox environment. There will be no cut scenes, and full control will never be taken away for “gamey” reasons. Immersion is absolutely paramount, and to that end the world within the Tower will feel realistically alive and reactive to however you choose to approach each and every situation.

A branching, “waterfall” narrative and dialogue system should appeal to those looking for a truly replayable experience, and will ensure that your decisions are plentiful without feeling cheap or obvious.

Diplomacy is a key way of traversing the narrative. Choose to speak anytime and anywhere with the push of a button. While rather difficult, you will be able to play through the entire experience without raising your weapon. Trick, bribe, scare, hire, or simply convince potential combatants to disarm, all while developing relationships with your crew, other Consortium officers, the London Police, and any other characters you meet throughout the experience.

I'm in for round 2.

LET'S MAKE THIS HAPPEN PEOPLE!

Wait...

Did they use the exact same pitch video from the KS?

Glad they didn't give up entirely, the idea is promising but it just doesn't seem to be "catchy" enough with a lot of people.

Backer #16 on KS, Backer #177 on FIG. We better fund it this time.

Also I have 3 discount codes for the 50$+ tier, if anyone who's not a super backer wants to jump in just ask.

People are quick. (Super) Backer #204 here.

As I said in the previous thread, it seems super backers have coupons to give out to friends that give a little discount. (Mine gives 10$ off the 50$ tier, don't know if that's what everyone got.)

Backed again, and since I was a Super Backer (i.e. I backed the kickstarter campaign before) I also got these 3 coupons for a $10 dicount:

now three of your friends can get a discount. They’ll get up to $10 off of the $50 CONSORTIUM ROOK Bundle or higher by using single use codes in these links (their discount is applied in the second step of the pledge flow with an automatically selected discount Extra under the Bundle):

Anyone feel free to use them.

Thanks, used the first one.

Had a question though. The info for that tier lists the rewards, but in the extras section, selecting through rewards like the soundtrack increases the price. Is that just if you want extra add-ons?

Correct. That's if you want to add on extra rewards to your pledge.

I don't like that they are asking for 2/3rds of what they asked on KS. It can't be the exact same game because corners need to be cut.

I'm in again, hoping they can bring this to the consoles.
And I'll definitely get round to playing the first one if this does get made!

Wasn't the first one in Canadian money and this is US dollars?
Would that make up the difference?

It is actually the same amount. Our Kickstarter was priced in Canadian dollars (As we're a Canadian company, located in Vancouver). We were asking for $450,000.00 Canadian. Fig only deals in US dollars, and we're asking for $300,000.00 US. Additionally, Fig doesn't take a 5% cut like Kickstarter does, so we'll end up with more development funding in the long run.

No corners being cut.

I'm pretty sure I filled in the superbacker form a while ago. Have not received a link yet. Resubmitted just in case.

edit
Had gotten spamfoldered.

So does Fig award the money regardless of meeting the goal, or is it similar to Kickstarter, where it's only given if the goal is met?

That's good to hear. Didn't think the KS campaign was in CAD.

It's interesting in all of the Kickstarter projects there have been, immersive sims have been very rare. I can't even come up with a handful. It makes sense why few devs want to get into that, they're incredibly complex.

Got my super backer pledge in. Trying to decide if I should put anything in on the investment side. I did for Psychonauts 2, although they still haven't collected the money for non-accredited investors. I want this game to succeed more, but it seems like a riskier investment. Looks like the minimum is $250, it was $500 for Psychonauts.

Well, 12% of the goal is a decent start. Will back for $20 in a few days. I'd backed for a physical console version if there was one.
