There are two or three other gameplay changes I know of that will probably be met unfavorably by this community. I'm not sure which change is the worst, though.
Seems like MvsC in name only. MvsC3 already began to strip the series of the awesome Bengus cohesive artstyle for everyone, Infinite seems to take it even further with Anime Megaman X next to ULTRA REAL RACOON. Outsource that stock art and run that factory line.
Also 6 DLC characters jesus fucking christ. Bold move to openly state "We're gonna fuck you dry" with your 2nd trailer.
They really need to stop mentioning him by name lol. It's like they're just doing it out of spite by now. I wonder how big this roster is going to be, to me that is one of the biggest deal breakers.
If Ryce is right & we get the X-Men/F4 characters as DLC in, say, the 2018 Character Pass, there'd be no need to hand off movesets to other characters.

Once I saw Rocket rocking his movie prison duds for no explicable reason other than "Yo its from that movie!" then I knew of course there will be no Fox characters.

I won't be surprised if they do some bullshit like "you can only use certain special moves if you have a gem and without a gem" or some other carny shit like that. Like "yeah Ryu can't do a DP unless he's got a certain gem" ugh.

Now all I can hope for is a fun game. Fun and open, as long as people can express their character and gameplay how they like to play and not have to play in a cookie cutter manner I'll be happy.
Lord Sigma has returned. I must not yield in my faith.
I'll be shocked if this game has story mode ready day one. Release date seems really quick since there hasn't been any info for so long. Be interesting to see what other info slips through the cracks
It's possible this got a greenlight sometime in 2015 and they simply developed it in silence until that PSX reveal , September would mean it's going to get at least as long a development schedule as SFV. I'm assuming it's being made by the same team that did MVC3 , it's already been demonstrated they've re-used a very large portion of that games animation and Eighting (I think that was the studio's name) has merely been subcontracted by capcom in this case. In other words - probably as much work as making MVC3 in the first place which was a 32 character game with a dozen backgrounds and every mode you could think of. SFV used a new engine with incredibly high poly character models compared to what this seems to be going for , lot's of extra physics at work too.
Don't get me wrong - September does seem early and I'm raising an eyebrow of +5 suspicion after what happened with SFV but they had to have learned from their mistakes right ?
Hopefully all this simplified control nonsense is just that , game was already simple enough to play as it was. Dragon Punch motions in particular could be changed to just a quarter circle , make button 1 for hadoukens and button 2 for shoryu's . Not hard. 100% reliable too. I don't recall Marvel 3 being far off from that either.

I'm still fanboying out over the fact that X is in the roster at all let alone headlining the Capcom side with Ryu, but now we have...
COMMAND MISSION X ALT
THE X DIORAMA STATUE IN THE COLLECTOR'S EDITION
ULTRON-SIGMA
AND HEY SIGMA IS IN THE ROSTER TOO
Oh... oh my god. I don't even care that Command Mission X and Sigma are pre-order DLC; as much as I hate that practice and would normally steer clear of supporting it, the fact that the hardcore Mega Man X fan in me finally, FINALLY has stuff to be happy for and excited about after all these years is enough.
Yeah, gonna have to go for that Collector's Edition. I need that X diorama figure and Command Mission X alt costume. I'll probably resell the other three figures and the Infinity Stones, though - maybe even to other GAF members if there's interest!
One significant concern I have, though, is that we still haven't heard X speak. Hell, Rocket Raccoon straight up talks to him at the end of the new trailer and he doesn't say anything in response. I get Sakurai's reasoning for keeping Mega Man silent in Smash 4 even though he has a voice, and I know Mark Gatha (the voice of X in X8, MMXCM, and MHX) is no longer doing voiceover work, but come on... X can't be silent! He's not supposed to be! I hope I'm just being an obnoxiously annoyed fanboy about this and there's nothing to worry about...
I still find myself wondering if Zero will return from MvC 3. If so, awesome, because being able to create a team of X and Zero... holy shit, all of my childhood fanboy dreams are being realized!
If not, that's cool too - Zero's had more than enough time in the spotlight, and besides that... it's X's time to shine, baby! Let Zero help deal with the small-fry threats like Galactus; X should only be called upon when shit really hits the fan.
Yes, I'm enjoying this way, way too much as an X fan. Let me have my fun; those MvC 3 days were dark indeed...
EDIT: Gah, I'm the top post on a new page? Bad luck...
I'll be honest, I never liked doing DP inputs because they were annoying to do but taking it out completely is stupid. Give us the option between easy mode and normal mode for the controls like MVC3 did.
I'm still hopeful for the game that being said.
Edit: Also nice to see Roger Craig Smith voicing Chris again! I always preferred him as the VA!
