I'll be shocked if this game has story mode ready day one. Release date seems really quick since there hasn't been any info for so long. Be interesting to see what other info slips through the cracks

Oh wow okay, and i thought "hey if you can't even finish the missions how could you ever compete against other players". Silly me lol, you almost make me fire up the game again but too bad i don't have SFV and nobody plays SF4 nowadays.

You don't need to do the fanciest of combos to be better than someone. It's no different to football/soccer. I can do sexy skills but you might still outpace me elsewhere where it counts. Still, fancy stuff is nice to have if they can provide it, but at the expensive of what... Let's see.

So... the game is gonna have a Under night in-birth type of control scheme ? I knew playing akatsuki all this time payed off

Has to be a different control scheme, not a change across the whole game. It'd be really stupid of them to simplify inputs for everyone.

As someone who has constant input errors and is genuinely terrible at fighting games, this seems stupid to me.

Not all kids can dribble, so let's replace Basketball with Netball.

Here ya go

Fersis

It is illegal to Tag Fish in Tag Fishing Sanctuaries by law 38.36 of the GAF Wildlife Act
I wonder if there's a dedicated button to specials.

what are those?

Basically mash a single button to do a combo. In Persona it let you do a combo into special then super if you had meter. Thing is, some characters could utilize this for practical or optimal combos. The damage on them wasn't anything worth whining over either. For KoF14 they're a string of hit that can lead into a super if you have meter. The damage on them is poor and nothing to complain about.

My worry is just how dumbed down, or simplified, they want the game to be. After I get over that I find myself asking whether or not the game will be fun despite all of these changes.

I feel disappointed by MvCi at the moment, everything looks so sub-par compared to the MvC3 reveal which was over 6 YEARS ago. I don't care about the casual modes because people who play them will eventually just drop the game anyway, it's all the long-lasting things such as the animation, control scheme and gameplay depth that matters to me. Here it seems like they are just trying to make a quick buck due to the popularity of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Hype is going wrong direction but will wait to see if that's hopefully just a simple mode, the game has depth and or is balanced around it, or they get back in and retouch it.

Does make the game go from hype for me, to let's keep an eye on this. Only Capcom or Nintendo could manage these decisions b. But I suppose it's fair to wait for proof.

Why would Ryce mislead us though? He's been on point about everything thus far. I want to believe the DP change is just a "simple" mode as well, but why put the scare into us like that?

I don't want it to be true, but I'm bracing myself for bad news

Pandering to casuals and dumbing down gameplay mechanics is the absolute worse thing you can possibly do for a fighting game.

or any game not intended for it really.

It's still a buy for me atm (barely)but damn no DPs is stinger.

Worked wonders for MVC3 tho, which is massively simplified coming from MVC2.

That said, i do think MVC3 was the perfect level of "dumbed down" and do am wary of going even lower.

Sales man, sales. If you want to see more fighting games in the future you need those games to be more welcome to new players and casuals so more people buy the game and not just hardcore fighting game fans.

Just take a look at SFV, it sold like shit.

Keep in mind UMvC3 didn't do so well mostly due to casuals not rebuying an updated version of the same game. You gotta get their sales with one game this time.

If DP's are eliminated, then I see no reason why reverse DP's wouldn't be.

I'm having a real issue imagining how Strider will play. His teleports are reverse DP and Gram is a DP motion. How the hell is he going to retain his moveset with limited motions?

The simple answer is: he won't.

The optimistic answer is a new method of input will replace the old. Other than losing decades of intuitive fighting game controls, he still plays roughly how he used to.

Given the direction of this game up to now, what do you think is more likely?

True. I forgot how quick that turnout was. We basically bought a beta.

It also harmed the far-reaching potential of many Capcom fighters, pushing people to the "I'll wait until they release the final game" mentality and reducing initial sales.

No other company has poisoned itself more than Capcom.
