Sony has 3 of the 4 top selling systems. Pretty impressive if you ask me. :)

Next week they'll have 3 of the top 5, still impressive :)

Here's a line comparison between GBASP and DSL only during their first 198 weeks. You can see a bit past the half point GBASP slows down considerably, due to the release of the DS.

That graph is unreal.

True... though all three combined are still selling less than 50% of the top selling system.

Link to the Past, I'm not complaining, I'm just hoping New Super Mario Bros. gets one small chance to shine. Super Mario 64 doesn't count.

New Super Mario Bros. is the king of kings, and deserves at least 1 WEEK as a true game being atop of the DS best sellers in Japan before Pokemon snatches it

Are you saying Pokemon isn't a true game?

is there some sort of time paradox occuring on gaf?

Well, it's gonna be the best selling single title... better than nothing.

It will never be known as that. It'll always be the 2nd best selling DS title in Japan.
Then again, you think it'll hit 10 million worldwide? It's at 6 million rite now

I didn't mean to call Pokemon a non game, it was more of a remark to Brain age 2 which is currently #1 (taking the throne from Animal Crossing... I still ahven't gotten over that).

Hello fellow gaf-analists. In a former thread i remember arguing with barf the mog over his statement that went something like this " the psp would sell a million in japan in the 6 weeks leading to the end of the year", so im assuming mid november. How much has the psp sold since then?

Yeah, but you're biased against Brain Age 'cause you suck at it. :) :p

That's the problem, right there. I find it better to just ignore most of his comments in sales threads.

Whats that mean? It was rumoured, and from the looks of that picture it seems possible.

If you have something witty to say, then get on with it already.

More than rumored, its was wished by Nintendo fanboys over the Internet and that's all it needs to be said.

I believe I said it deserves to sell 1 million units. Remember? Later when I found out what the week's PSP sales were I blew up and said the Japanese didn't deserve it anymore. My feelings are still the same. In any case, I was comparing it to last years sales numbers where it sold over 800k units in the last 6 or 7 weeks.

Don't get me wrong, I love the DS, too. I just don't like the way one system is shunned while the other is loved by all. It's like the N64 all over again....JAPAN DIDN'T DESERVE THAT EITHER!

I bet it does actually... though Phantasia PS1 sold over 600k iirc.

I suppose it'll depend on the kind of legs this one ends up having. Hopefully, it's not as short-lived as Abyss' was.

Just a thought, people. I know everyone keeps saying that the Wii will end on two days of Media Create tracking....shouldn't it actually only be one day? Just double-check my math, but shouldn't next week's only track:

November 27th (1), 28th (2), 29th (3), 30th (4), 31st (5), December 1st (6), 2nd (7)

Am I missing something here?

November has 30 days.

Probably it won't but I guess it will be really near with that awesome 74% stock already sold. Seems Namco got the production quantities right this time with a little less than 300k, which its going to reach easily. I think it could sell like ToS PS2 (400k), with near 300k opening.

We'll see how the PSP spinoff and newest port do...although I suppose Namco doesn't expect big things from them.

well 210k (and more importantly 74% sell through) on day one is pretty great. 1st week it'll probably sell out and maybe get a restock in (so say between 275-350k). From there it only has to move another 150k+ over the holidays... I bet it does alright.

Console Tales have never really been in question though, it's handheld sales that've slumped comparably. Eternia PSP was lucky to ride launch rush but everything following that (Phantasia FVE, Tempest) has been super dissapointing. Can RM break the trend?

I think ND2 for GBA did 200k+ so I'd expect RM to sell around that, definitely more than Tempest. However, I don't know if that would qualify as 'breaking the trend'. :p

ND3 did less though (150k-ish) but the GBA was winding down then. I don't think RM has much chance of topping 200k, but 150k would be good I think.
