Is that a Phantom next to the PS3?

Official control pads all the way for me. I never buy anything unofficial. Those unofficial pads I find are terribly built.
Depends. Mad Catz products suck like a black hole outsucking an opposing black hole. Logitech's stuff, on the other hand, is really good.

If I may ask, why the HD TV and a Projection unit?

Reason I ask because I run a home theatre setup for my gaming needs, but I find it rather tiresome to warm up the projector everytime I want to play a game. I always thought about having a dual setup, HDTV for my normal gaming needs and then the projector for when I want that theatre experince.

Can you send the same signal to both units? (so you can play your consoles on display of choice at will)

HDTV is only 37". Ideal for day to day watching, but not for big screen fun. Doesn't take long to warm up the projector at all, and I like having it for special occasions.

The signals go to both - I run a HDMI switch like normal to give me more HDMI inputs, then the single output goes into a Gefen 1:2 HDMI splitter - one output to the TV, one to the projector.

I don't game on the projector that often, but it *is* special when I do. Its mostly for movie nights

Brodequin - IKEA of course! Lots and lots of units all stacked up. Its their BESTA range, with TOFTA white gloss doors and NORUM gloss red doors. Magnetic push catches from the local DIY place to keep everything looking slick :)

Very happy with my new 40" Bravia:D

Sadly your setup is inferior to my setup which is now showing Manchester United beat Roma 6 - 0 instead of your hard-fougth 1-1 with Valencia. :D

Thanks for the reply, I actually went straight to the IKEA website after seeing your setup ;)

Now that I'm looking again, the IKEA USA site doesn't carry any of the ranges you mention (I checked the UK site and they're all there).

They are new in the UK for this season. Don't know how the ranges overlap with the US? I had a right nightmare looking for white gloss in specialist stores etc so just tried IKEA on a whim and was pleasantly surprised

Well, I kept looking and using the site's breadcrumb navigation (home Bookcases & storage Bookcases & cabinets Bookcases BESTÅ/INREDA storage system ) found BESTA products on the US site...but all they have are knobs and handles :lol

My new wall of units - gloss white and a stripe of red to go with the sofa. Lighting behind the TV, between the top of the units and the ceiling, and in the spaces either side of the TV (vase and PS3 section).

wii60.jpg

most doors are normal hinged ones, but the single doors are sliding. Here I've covered up the PS3 to reveal my 360/Wii. Also a shelf underneath for accessories.

screen%20down.jpg

shows the electric screen dropped down. When I'm using it I move the speakers further apart so the sound matches the screen.

sofa.jpg

My lovely new red leather sofa. Very comfy and having a corner unit makes it much easier to stretch out and go to sleep :)

Holy shit.

Aside from painting and wire management, I'm pretty much done! It's no avsforum quality theater, but baby steps.

Will GAF laugh at my 100" screen being used for a Wii (no 360 or PS3... yet)? I think it will. I do have a PS2, Xbox, Dreamcast, et al, but they're not hooked up yet.

Bought a sensor bar with 30' cord off eBay. Very professionally done. I went for cord over cordless b/c I wanted it to turn on and off with the Wii.

You'd think Wii would look horrible all blown up, but it's not so bad (full size here)

you have no TV? I guess thats a dedicated room (lucky man), but do you think you'll need a TV in there eventually too?

The projector is for TV duty too. HDTV at least. I do have a CRT for SD viewing to preserve the projector's bulb.

I need a PS3 for some Blu-ray action.

Some newer pics showing more of my games rather than my setup.

I'm not really into the whole "have my games all over my room to showoff" since no offence to others but I just think thats weird. They are all in my closet of shame but I already moved some of this shit in storage boxes in the garage and I'll be doing that soon to most of this stuff after I finish a couple last gen games.

Here's my room. 360 is getting repaired and pS3 is downstairs on the nicer tv. Saturn is usually not there but SF news got me excited!

i resent you calling me names and of you don't like the tv thats your opinion but its a great tv imho and i love it. i could have gotten any tv i wanted and i chose this one. as of 2 weeks ago money is no longer an object. i came into a good deal of money and will worry bout a new tv stand after we finish closing on a new house. this way i throw away all my old junk and have less to move.

makes alot of sense to me. have all new furniture picked out and as soon as this whole house thing goes thru i will post new pics to help make you happy

not gaming related, but just the rest of the room - dining table and piano. The projector is still bagged up from when I was making lots of dust. That HDMI cable dangling down will go inside the ceiling space soon.
Whoa you've got a HDTV and a projector? I must be seeing things.

Target commercial?

I'm toeing the line of eligibility since there's only a Gamecube (which isn't even hooked up) and a few games. :) Plasmas are kind of a bitch to take good pics of...

Target-theme aside, I really like karlikk's colors and setup. Mrklaw's is pretty nice, too, although I'm not crazy about the cubes/shelves being free-standing; if it was built into the wall, it's be a lot more slick.

I like that TV stand. Do you recall where it was purchased? I'm trying to find a similar 3-leveled TV stand.

So I need some opinions, in about a month I'm getting this TV:

B000N4Z42C.01._SCLZZZZZZZ_V24350481_SS400_.jpg

My current setup is like this:

rightside.jpg

So I need to change my tv stand at the minimum, so I was thinking of either one of these:

59534_PE165425_S3.jpg
25442_PE093588_S3.jpg

I would prefer one of these so I don't need to worry about hiding cables between the TV stand and Audio Stand. My only worry on the first one is whether you'll be able to see the power cables/surge protectors in the back. For the first one, I can also hide everything but maybe my Wii/Snes/PS3 on top to the sides of the LCD.

Any other stands you guys could recommend would be great. My price max is $400 and as you can see, I can't mount it to a wall because it has to be infront of my window.

Sorry dude, I was laughing while typing that....the slob comment was a joking comment and I wasnt saying the tv is crap. Sammy tvs rock.

And for the others bustin my chops over my post, get a life. If you're going to post your setup in a forum, the least you can do is clean up a bit first.
