I actually like this concept. Keep the fact that it is predominantly a gaming message board vague and sell it as something that can change a person's life.

An idea for a short ad:

[Written in a simple font over a white background and spoken at the same time on the screen]
"Hello" - 1 second
"This is an ad for Neogaf" - 4 seconds

[A gif or number of images ralated to neogaf being quickly shown (Kitten, Dudebro, Crying girl, food, sports etc) in a row] - 7 seconds

[Simple neogaf logo on the white background with the text "Google us"] - 2 seconds

[The text changes to "Believe" and is said by a celebrity or evilore] - 2 seconds

THE END - total time, 16 seconds

Why not use the community? Let the people contribute sound/video bites and use them to form the ad. Under a certain theme, of course. The ad could be just few dozen people saying "NeoGAF" and "Believe" - a very boring concept but would show the people who make the "NeoGAF experience"...........................................

Well if it's that simple then I suggest something like:

Just throw in some extra Aftereffects explosions, a Mike Haggar piledriving a shark, end it with DinoGaf flying from a huge explosion, maybe ditch the "be here or be queer" and we are ready for late night.

In anticipation of what will happen once this actually airs, I certainly think there should be a warning of 500 errors in the ad. You know, just for the sake of honesty so people know what to expect. Also, pump up the wait list for registration like it makes NeoGAF like a really exclusive club that people would want to get in.
