I hope they're saving the destruction and hybrids for the stage demo at E3.The demo doesn't seem to highlight any of the destruction aspects either.
I hope they weren't throwing hot air about that shit, or had to change it now.

Where have they talked about the destructibility by the way? I'd like to read about it.
Speaking of the environments, everything in game is rendered with soft body physics, meaning yes The Order 1886 will feature destructible environments. An example was given with metal beams reacting to magnetic forces, bending and shifting in real time.
It was in the Game Informer article, iirc.

The game has dynamic destruction, and while were not talking about Battlefield 4 levels of military bombast, Ready At Dawns surface and environmental destruction is rather impressive. We saw Weerasuriya jump into a stone courtyard and pumped rounds from the protagonists Combogun an assault rifle and shotgun hybrid into a brass fixture set into a wall. The object crumpled and imploded with force after each round found its mark, deforming it in real-time.
He then spawned in a bunch of teddy bears and went all Robocop on their stuffed asses, first blowing off a head, and then four limbs one at a time. This might sound like a gimmick, but we were all assured that dynamic destruction, texture warping and convincing object physics lie at the heart of The Order: 1886′s gameplay. When the crowd asked why, we were told it wasnt yet time for that particular discussion.
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=657629&highlight=the+order+1886What I can tell you is that the game looks brilliant, as in next-gen brilliant, not just a small leap in fidelity. We were treated to a fly-over through an underground plaza lined with pubs, meandering NPCs and street lamps so convincing you could almost hear the bulbs hum. At the end of the street sat a mosaic, with each raised tile impacting the way those lights dances across its surface.
I think they may have said too much; I really doubt every metal beam in the game will bend realistically because that seems like something the previews would have noticed or RAD would have pointed it out.

Perhaps, but while I wasn't expecting what you said here, I was expecting it to play a gameplay role, since it apparently was supposed to. I mean I'm watching the videos and seeing stuff blow up and hit the walls and nothing is being permanently damaged except the typical fences and stuff.
In fact, in that webm gif in this topic, it showcases our main behind cover shooting a flare that sticks to the wall. If you look to the left of the flare, there's that open destroyed building again - the same exact one from the image RAD was using to showcase an example of being able to destroy things in the game.
What this video demonstrates is that the hole is already predetermined, it's already there when the player gets there now. Does this mean destruction is out? I don't know, in the interview they said "and several surprising features that people might not expect from an action game", so that may be one of them. But I'm starting to get very skeptical.
Ohh that's cool. Was it confirmed?
I doubt it, I think this WAS the unveiling for this time of the year. They even let the journalists play the same demo that will be at E3.
haha noticed that too. Thought it was a great touch.

In one of these new videos Ru says more will be shown at E3. This is a taste.

I agree.Sony needs to adopt custom boxart colors in situations like this. It needs to be on a black case.
You are absolutely right. Hitman Absolution has the most amazing crowds I've seen in a game. Densely populated streets full of pedestrians. It's amazing. I don't expect something like that from The Order, but maybe it can do something similar. Just make the world come alive. Nothing makes a game come alive more for me than NPC's.
"My modern CGI benchmark" that needs to be achieved realtime on consoles is this:

We're still not there yet. But thankfully, Order shows us that we are not that far away.
Like I asked before, what else could u tell us about the game? Any hints or clues??Yes, that works. You can also use enemies that are lit on fire
He says, ignoring the slew of positive impressions across the internet. After reading the Eurogamer preview I'm really happy they delayed this. Just as I feared watching the gameplay videos, the Eurogamer preview suggests the gunplay doesn't feel great, and he describes it as "lightweight" with enemies not reacting to every shot. This is something that will make or break this game. The shooting has to feel good and impactful.
I really hope they get that straightened out by their ship date. I want these amazing weapons to feel as awesome as they look in action.

Can someone crop half of this and end it when she leaves frame?

It'll be an incredible bad post gif.
Thankfully I think hit reactions are one of the areas where they can pretty quickly make improvements. While I don't think it looks as bad as some say, it definitely is an area that could use some work. After reading the Eurogamer preview I'm really happy they delayed this. Here's the better quality of that Blacksight slow motion moment:
Black Sight. It can be triggered if you drink enough Black Water. So this GIF makes me very happy, but what exactly is going on here with the pistol shots? Is this a mark-and-execute mechanic?
Sorry if this has been covered already - this thread is pretty big.

There has to be a sex scene or atleast make out session QTE. Cmon RAD. Earn my respect again.
oh my god these gifs
jaw dropping
is there a high quality DL link anywhere?

Yeah, I should've been clearer - was wondering whether the player is aiming at all since there is no reticle. It looks like an automatic kill system.Black Sight. It can be triggered if you drink enough Black Water.
Yeah, that'd look nice but it'd be less impressive. Maybe its an automatic room clearing move?Seems like it uses auto aim and you squeeze on the trigger till one guy falls, then flip with the right stick to repeat. Doesn't seem particularly engaging from a gameplay perspective, but it sure does look cool.
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2...sive-the-order-1886-was-delayed-to-early-2015Adding a touch of variety to the shooting is a slow-motion mechanic called Black Sight, which ties into the Black Water, a substance the knights drink to heighten their senses and restore health. (Mallory drinks some from a vial after he's shot in the neck.) During Black Sight you can flick the thumb stick to quickly target enemies faster than they can react. You can't use it all of the time - you build up a meter as you kill enemies - and perhaps you wouldn't want to use it all of the time even if you could, because Ready at Dawn teases that the Black Water makes the knights less human somehow.
The graphics look fantastic. But I'm still eagerly waiting to see other parts of the game other than the same White Chapel area. Show us something other than shooting at E3.
I'm waiting to see if they were able to pull this off, with bustling NPC's.
And allow us to explore this, and hopefully interact with the NPC's as well. Give this game another layer other than just a shooter.
I also hope for a bit of Resident Evil style puzzle solving. I'm getting kind of a whole Eternal Darkness vibe from the whole thing with the storyline. This could be the ultimate game if they do this right.

Joking aside, I honestly vastly prefer how the old build looked in screenshots at least. Don't know if it's just a single area thing, but the old screenshots look brownish/sepia, while the new ones look greyish?
No they are not.
Like I asked before, what else could u tell us about the game? Any hints or clues??
Edit: why is no one asking this man any questions?? Or am I wrong for assuming he is working on the game?

Why does everyone focus on that one preview? Oh wait, because concern trolling and incessant doomcasting is waaay more fun than expressing any sort of optimism.
WAIT THE FUCK UP, this game has NPCs???
