I WISH I had started with bumper jumper. Now I'm trapped thanks to muscle memory. Bumper Jumper should always be default (or I should always learn to switch to it before playing the game).
Maybe I should have one more play through the campaign to learn it...(any excuse to play that again really).
To me it looks like that guy is using an aim bot or something.

Mate I played until gen 4 using the default layout and while bumper jumper did feel awkward at first it didn't take that long to adjust which really surprised me. Now I'm almost gen 7 and I'm flying around and I feel my game is better for it. Make the switch and accept that you won't play as well or you may press the wrong button for a while but once you adjust it's well worth it. I agree that bumper jumper or evolved should be the default layout.
I have no idea why Respawn didn't make Bumper Jumper or Evolved as default. Fucking blows my mind. X/A to jump???

In overwatch I switched Lucio and Pharah to bumper jumper and never looked back. The weird thing is I can switch between Lucio and other characters and never get confused about which button does what.

in game i use whatever curve is default, i think it's called "classic". i do not mess with the curves on the elite controller screen, i leave that off. Coming from Titanfall 1 there was no way for me to adjust it without horribly throwing my aim off. Both stick movement guards or "dead zone" are on "small". I tried having it off for the right stick but i get a little stick drift that annoys me.

You'd be surprised how quickly your muscle memory will adapt. I would absolutely change to bumper jumper, immediately! (if you don't have access to an elite type controller with paddles on the back)
yeah i implored them to do this over and over and over. Developers seem stuck on worrying about shocking the casual players with some type of "pro" change. I don't get it. Advance the fucking shooting experience on console before it dies! Shooters took a big hit in popularity recently on console despite all these great shooters coming out. The heyday of Halo 3/COD looks to be a thing of the past.
Hopefully Microsoft with Scorpio goes a head with releasing an elite type controller as the stock game pad this time around. The difference proper control mechanisms make with a shooter like Titanfall can't be explained enough. It changes the whole experience.
Well, last time depended on if you did the challenges right? So it was dependent on how good you were in doing them. This one just feels like a steadier grind . Double xp and happy hour helps a lot!

Eva is too fun. Really improves your movement . I thought my movement was crazy with the CAR, it's on another level with The EVA. Admittedly, I was never an EVA guy in the first game . For some reason I like it better here. Transitioning back to CAR though takes an adjustment haha

No, your progress is always at the same rate this time. Although it doesn't feel that long to me (just reached gen X yesterday). Getting your daily happy hour bonus sure helps (using different weapons and titans too until they get to their first generation, after which it is cyclic again).
It takes few sec to make your own network to play 1 game to get happyhour done and change back to your normal network.

I've had this happen with Sword Core so i'm definitely leaning towards some sort of online kerfuffle as opposed to a worn controller.

Has there been any word out of Respawn on when the next update may be coming?
I play a couple rounds a day still but I've been stuck at 10.49 since November and am looking for a reason to really get back into the MP.

There's a few companies that make custom controllers. Look into Battlebeaver Customs or Scuf (i'll come out and say i am not a fan of scufs at all).
Besides those you could instead purchase an elite and a usb adapter like the cronusmax to get it to work with the ps4. i've never tried so i wouldn't know how well it works. i'm pretty sure gamesager uses it. seems fine when he streams.
Playing on PS4 Pro and I WISH I could use my damn elite controller so badly.
I don't mind that...

You can use your elite controller if you use a cronusmax or a brooks converter. I picked up a brooks converter last week and been using my elite without any issues so far.
Played only 15 ins tonight, but tried out bumper jumper. It's SOOOO much more natural. Going to change to it and never look back.
Also there's a Razer ps4 controller which seems to be a copy of the Elite. Not seen many people talking about it though, and it's too expensive to pick up and just try.

I would recommend staying away from Razer products. Far, far away.
Someone linked to a paddle attachment for the DS4 a page or two back, maybe try that?

Well that's disappointing. It's a relatively minor thing but not getting progression from assists anymore is such a stupid change I can't believe they haven't reversed it yet.

I thought the Network update was supposed to be today. Hope they post a lengthy post tomorrow with roadmap and balance changes. I'd also love to see responses to criticisms. Like, please tell us why Tone isn't overplayed/OP and Devotion/turret aren't insufferable garbage. I would love to see their reasoning on some of this stuff.

On a scale of 1-10 how bullshit is master difficulty? Itching to replay the campaign but I beat it on hard the first time.
About a 4 for me, but it really depends on your playstyle. On master enemies can pretty much one-shot melee you, but everything still feels really fair and enemies aren't bullet sponges (even spectres are pretty weak if you hit their crit points). Give it a try!
I died less times than on my hard run. A lot of it is just knowing where enemies are coming from/where you're going. I didn't play the titan parts differently at all. If you struggle with those, Tone easy mode is the play. As a pilot, you just have to use cover a bit more. Enemies have no problem headshotting you off a wall if you're a little too bold.

No particular reason other than the hope that some absence will make the heart grow fonder. I've hit a wall at Gen8, where I play a few matches then throw on Forza or something. Part of that is just natural fatigue from putting 4 days worth of time into the game since October, some of it is boredom with the current meta and map rotation.
Figure now was as good a time as ever to dive back into some Skyrim since I got the remaster for the holidays.

I switched to Evolved and while I still confuse the buttons at times, I do wish I had tried it earlier. Being able to move while you jump is a game changer.
