TITANFALL 2 |G2.1| "Whatever The Fuck That Means"

I changed my FOV from 90 to 110 just to try it out, I also used stim during that game. First off yes I did feel much faster although I know I'm not any faster than I was when using a 90 FOV. What bothered me a bit was that my view seemed distorted. It felt like I was watching a 4:3 movie get stretched out on a 16:9 TV. Not as bad but you get what I mean.

Should I keep this FOV and just get use to it? Keeping it won't hurt and can only help, right?

I don't claim to be an authority on FOV (as I've never really had the hardware to make the most of it), but based off the opinion of a friend I started using 92 for this game (on PS4/32" screen) and haven't looked back since. I don't necessarily feel faster, but I do get more kills and get killed less. I don't know if stretching to 100 will increase benefit or just provide extra "placebo effect." Probably depends on the size of your display.

Happy new year btw, Pilots! Do you have any 2017 resolutions or dreams?

Personally, I've got some PSN funds that I'm saving exclusively for Prime Northstar and/or Tone. Really hoping they look sweet.

Anyone can use whatever fov they want.
More fov = see more around but harder to see far away.
Less fov = see less around but easy to see far.

Maybe if you have high res screen you could have big fov and still see well far away if you look closer or have good eyesight if needed.

Use whatever you find most comfortable for the size of your screen and the distance that you sit from it (so; how much of the screen fills your vision).

Some crank it up just to see as much on the peripheral as possible and like that just fine, others dislike how "small" or distorted it can look for them.

Don't force yourself to any value, just use whatever you find most comfortable.

...I'd start with 90 and go from there. =)

I play 110 FOV on my 65" 4K screen. Looks good to me. I do wonder if 110 distorts it enough to affect long range fighting which I stray away from.

I do think 110 is really good for Last Titan Standing especially, even if some might prefer 90-100 more for Attrition etc.

I do understand what FOV is. I was just wondering about how it may negatively affect the game. Like causing more slowdown or something like that since they do have a warning about changing it. I changed from 70 to 90 back in early December and have kept that ever since.

I wanted to make another jump but 110 feels too distorted to me. I switch between my 23 inch 1080p monitor and my 40 inch 4K TV in my bedroom(I'm on a PS4 Pro). I pretty much use whichever that my wife is not using if she's not in the room with me. 110 just didn't feel right on either screen for me. I lowered it to 100 and now it feels just right so that's what I'm going to stick with. It does feel pretty cool to make it look like I'm moving faster even though I'm actually not.

There was a tape involving Izuna, some Russian escorts, and Swolbro's bed. It's best not to talk about it.
lmao.

I felt like i didn't get the benefits of a truly wider view at 90 so i cranked mine up to 100 and i loved it but the game starts to suffer a bit in the frame rate department, especially on angel city. So, i decided to drop it down to 96 and i've been pleased.

The more peripheral view the better for very mobile fast players. I'd reckon truly stationary players concerned with sitting back behind an A-wall better served with 70-80. You'll be able to aim better at distance.

90 is the medium range between default and crazy wide. It's a good view for most players.

Oh look Rayme is back.

It's Friday! So can we expect that update today? Would be cool to see what they have planned for the future.

Hopefully they make some big announcements today. Like:
  • When are we getting a balancing update? Better be soon
  • When are we getting new maps?
  • How many maps?
  • What other DLC are we getting?
  • Are they going to do something about this awful matchmaking?
This is what i want to see talked about. They could blow the lid off and hype the fuck out of the gaming world by announcing cross platform play between X1 and PS4 but that's a pipe dream.

Pretty sure this is down to Sony, and I don't see why they have an incentive to do it. The Rocket League devs said something along the lines of "it's ready to go, just need Sony's approval."
Might be wrong about that though.

Also, Titanfall 2 OT on page 2, get the fuck outta there.

If I didn't know better, I'd say that looks like the results of a level editor.

Doesn't work for me.

In our next content drop coming soon, we'll be introducing a brand-new mode called Live Fire: a lightning fast 6v6 Pilot only mode that brings competitive, close quarter combat to the forefront. A round-based best of 5 mode with no respawns, you will have one minute to eliminate the opposing team in order to win the round. You can also win the round if your team is holding the neutral flag when the round timer ends. It's fast, frantic, and sure to help hone those teamwork and mobility skills. We're also introducing two brand new maps designed specifically for Live Fire: Stacks and Meadow. Playable only in the Live Fire playlist, these two maps are tight, enclosed death boxes designed specifically for the fast-paced, intense nature of the mode.

In addition to Live Fire and the two new dedicated maps for that mode, we're also going to be introducing a brand-new Coliseum map called Columns, as well as another Pilot execution (wait until you see this one!), and multiple new Commander intros for each Faction. We'll have more details on when you'll be getting your hands on this soon and everything in this update will be free for all Titanfall 2 players.
We've also been working on a significant update to our playlist interface. We agree with much of the feedback that having game modes split between two screens is not an ideal user experience. The team has been working to introduce a brand new interface for the next content drop on consoles and possibly a bit earlier on PC so we can test it out. Below you can check out our work in progress to give you an idea how it will change.
Our goal is to allow players to create their own ‘mixtapes' and choose which modes they want to be matched in. Would you like to match in just Attrition, Amped Hardpoint, and Last Titan Standing? Simply select the modes you want and hit play. We'll talk more about this and more in the coming weeks.

Everything else is still highly classified, but hopefully you are starting to get a sense at how we're planning to support Titanfall 2 post-launch. Soon we will reveal our roadmap for the next couple months that will have more maps [including remasters of more maps from Titanfall], weapons, modes, and more.

Yeah just read.

New Mode: Live Fire
2 New Dedicated Live Fire Maps: Stacks and Meadow
1 New Coliseum Map: Columns
1 New Pilot Execution
New Commander Intros for Factions
New 1 Screen Multiplayer Mode Selection Screen / Create Your Own Mixtape

Future Content: more maps [including remasters of more maps from Titanfall], weapons, modes, and more.

I'm not sure how I feel about the info yet. Getting new content is great, but I'm not too thrilled that the new maps are only dedicated to the new mode. I would have loved a roadmap too, but it makes sense not to promise exact dates up front.

Oh they are dedicated, I somehow missed that part.

Well I think they'll be relatively small maps so it won't work in other modes, no?
