Do we have to have a bunch of people in every single one of these threads saying "get it on PC, it's better!"
This is one of the more annoying aspects of gaf. "No shit Sherlock, a state of the art, £1000+ PC runs this game better than my 5 year old console." It's like the irritating spoilt kid in school who always needs to "one up" anyone's story.
We get it guys, PC's are much more capable than our lowly consoles, but not everyone has the money to buy one, or the inclination to tinker around to get games working properly on it.

Because of the boxart?
From reading the replies on the last page I'd have to say it's due to the boxart indicating that it's HD versions of the inferior PS2 versions of the games instead of HD versions of the PC/360 versions. So yeah, likely because of the boxart but not likely because the boxart is aesthetically displeasing.

I could be wrong but that's my guess. It's certainly a reason I don't have nearly as much interest in this HD collection.

shit, my amazon order has been delayed to june. Zavvi still holds april 1 as release date. And Ubisoft says nothing about the game. two delayed games in a single week, motorstorm and now this :(

Sorry to bump this, but has anybody actually confirmed that the Prince of Persia disc is coming to the US? I haven't seen it listed anywhere and it was supposed to come out tomorrow.

How are there no screenshots of this. I like me some Splinter Cell.

Yeah,at least Eidos/Square got balls to show some screens and actually say that the two games (Legend and Anniversary) are just PS2 port with lifted models and assets from the 360/PC version.

Here Ubi are trying to hide this so hard, so I think it's as bad or maybe even worse than Prince of Persia Trilogy.

So we're assuming this is based on the PS2 simply because of the boxart?

Not the boxart, more because that PoP Trilogy and Tomb Raider Trilogy are upscaled port of the PS2 versions.

It's implied due to the fact that every other last gen collection has been based on the ps2 version of said games.

I would have thought that the screenshots released are an indication that these are a step up from the PS2 versions. And even if the shots are simply from the original XBox release, would it be wrong to assume that Ubisoft are basically revealing what the PS3 version will indeed look like? Or am I being too naive in regards to promotional material?

Ubi haven't said anything about a 360 version yet but I wouldn't totally rule it out.
This article seems to indicate that both the Splinter Cell Trilogy and the Prince of Persia Trilogy are coming to the 360:

http://www.destructoid.com/splinter-cell-prince-of-persia-hd-coming-to-xbox-360-193527.phtml

...and on the Amazon product page for this title, the publisher states that the game supports online leaderboards, trophies and...wait for it... achievements!

I hope that it's one more sign that this game will eventually make its way to the 360.

That's good news, that means that splinter cell is probably based on the xbox versions.

I wouldn't be so sure. This is ubisoft we're talking about here. I could easily see them taking each console's version from it's predecessor.

Would they really go through all that trouble to port two different versions of the game? That's a huge waste of money.

Depends on if it's easier to get the PS2 versions up and running on the PS3. From what I've read the PS2 versions had to be majorly rewritten from the Xbox versions. So it very well might be easier to port each console's version to the respective company's console.

HOT DAMN Chaos theory still looks good. I had forgotten about the impact of SC series' groundbreaking graphics last-gen.

Not to parrot the PC brigade but it would be amazing with super high resolution and antialiasing up the wazoo. The art assets hold up.

The guy who said it was better than 360 launch games wasn't kidding.

I hope they bring the sweet SC multiplayer back to Xbox Live. I really wanted Spies vs Mercs in Conviction.

That was some awesome stuff. I had a ton of fun in that. I would hope it is brought back. They're not proper ports if they don't.

The only way ill get this is if Spies Vs Mercs is included, I spent more time playing that in Chaos Theory than playing single player in all SC titles combined.

There's hope yet now that we know that the pc version is what's being ported. Hopefully they'll manage to maintain a smooth framerate and manage to Include the online multiplayer stuff.

Definitely interested if ports are good. Was just thinking about how I want to play a good stealth game after finishing Crysis 2.

awesome news. PC port was the best option, superior graphics and probably easy to port.
UBI could also add trophies to Double Agent XD

Can't wait, and i also hope a new SC is unveiled at E3 too. My 360 needs more sam fisher.

Unfortunately the answer to this question is no, the online part of the original games won’t be included.

What is with that "soft" textures? Looks out of place, like if it were textures for a cel-shaded game but then changed the style and keep the textures.
