Has everyone found the class of choice for them? I've been doing a lot of Jumper and raider. I still need to play with the heavies, and that jammer class one seems interesting. I tried the Sentinel once and got a 14 kill spree on him. Sniping takes effort again in a FPS. Finally.
Nice man, I found one unclaimed too. Thanks!mrgone said:Just found out that InvisibleWalls tweet-bombed a mad number of Ascend codes. Took like 15 tries, but I managed to find one that wasn't taken, so there may still be a few more unclaimed. It's more than an hour old at this point, so don't dawdle!
They should send us our microtransactions in the mail for that oldschool feel.DaBuddaDa said:Nice man, I found one unclaimed too. Thanks!
This Hi-Command thing reminds me of a late 90s shareware launcher of some sort. It's kind of endearing.

Teknopathetic said:FYI, supposedly every VIP member got some extra beta keys that you can give away. It's supposedly in the Hi-command launcher underneath the play button. I didn't buy the VIP pack, but I did drop some dough and get VIP status, but I don't have it in my launcher, so I suppose it's VIP pack only?
Can any of you dudes who bought the VIP preorder confirm?

The biggest thing you can learn is to vary your flight path as much as possible. Think about when you wait to take a shot on an enemy, they're either flying a predictable flight path, coming towards the ground or at the apex of their flight. Strafing while in the air is just as important as it is on the ground.MrOogieBoogie said:I'm in the beta, and this is my first Tribes game ever. I have to say, I can see myself becoming addicted to this. Only played one match and can already see the potential for the gameplay mechanics.
I was wondering if any of you could share some crucial tips with a newbie like me, though. I looked at the default control scheme and it seems weird. Zoom on Left Shift? Are all of you sticking to the default controls?
Midfield is a crucial position as long as it's played intelligently. Since there's no shocklance in this game it is significantly lessened in importance though, but intercepting incoming HOs, would-be flag carriers and enemy flag chasers in the midfield is still important. Just pick your targets and learn the typical behaviors of each type of enemy player.Teknopathetic said:"I was wondering if any of you could share some crucial tips with a newbie like me, though. Always do something beneficial to the team. Don't sit in midfield fragging. You should always be capping the flag, escorting the flag carrier, chasing your team's flag, killing the enemy's base (Generator/Turrets) or defending your own base.

Bamelin said:In Tribes there may be pitched battles going on but most people tend to focus on "one guy" to take out ... it quickly becomes obvious if somebody is trying to take you down, and so a "duel" starts.
A Tribes duel usually involves skiing at break neck speeds, trading spinfuser fire, jetpacking over hills .... I've had duels that crossed entire maps ...
It's really hard to explain but basically a Tribes duel is all about who has the best skills .... There is so many different ways a duel can go, it's a special sort of gaming experience that no other game has ever matched for me.
