Vita is like having a girl with ... 4 breasts.

Well think of it this way: the less time they devote to thinking up better ads, the more time they can devote to better games! Right?

Yeah I'm going with that.

No point in targeting ads at me Sony, I already have a Vita!

It may surprise you to learn that some women enjoy fondling breasts too.

and lets not take things too literally. The ad talks about doubling of sensations. Women are smart, they'll think 'ooh, four balls'. and shortly after 'eww, four balls'

Oh, boy. Now I get why I'm not interested in buying a vita... too much boobs. I loved the Wii at first sight, tough.

I wonder why Nintendo didn't use this kind of advertising : multiplayer, vibrating remotes & touchscreens would've made fantastic commercials in the same vein.

This has got to be the dumbest line of thought when it comes to advertising. The idea that any good ad is one that makes you aware of the product is good is just false. An ad does nothing if it is so obnoxious or offensive that it damages (or at least doesn't drive) sales. Stop posting this stupid argument please.

Yes, I have to agree. I don't know where people got the idea that the GOAL of ad is "drive people to talk about it".

No, ad is to drive people to BUY your product. Come on people, read some 'consumer behavior' books. Know your world.

Nine out of ten orphans can't tell the difference.
So which platform is the equivalent of having a girl with 2 breasts because I'll settle with that.

Geez calm down.

Tell me what a good ad is if it doesnt get people talking? I dont find it bad either, if it targets an audience and if it makes sense to them, then it works. If it doesn't work for you, then move on. How would it harm sales?

This is clearly advertised at males, I'm sure most of the dudebros woulde appreciate the humour. Obnoxious? Offensive? Sure, maybe, but what does that have to do with anything?

I dont think it will drive sales, nor do I expect it to, but if I'm some casual bypasser, flipping through a magazine and I see that, I'd chuckle and that analogy would stick in my head for a minute or two. It's a simple magazine ad touting back-touch by using something sexual. What's the big deal?
If that's the case just screen grab a shot from a porno, crop a PSP in the corner and call it a day.

" it will get attention" is the bare minimum an ad should do. Not really acknowledging anything.

What the hell?! They stole my booby grip add-on idea for the back touchpad. I was trying to sell that shit to Compile Heart for a Collectors Edition pack in.

This might seem bizarre, but remember, the Sony people working for Sony France are probably french, y'know. They probably think they know what they're doing.

The people working on Sony's advertising in American were probably also American.

Doesn't make the advertising any less cack-handed.
