This is an FBI counter intelligence investigation. It's as secretive as an investigation can be in the US. There isn't much of a backend here. The subject of this investigation is both more complex and more serious than Watergate by a large margin. If (and this is a huge "if) it leads to the FBI pressing charges against Trump, it would be the single most significant political event in american history since the Civil War.
You only get one shot at this. It needs to be airtight. It will take time.
The article actually states that the FBI does have this info and it is part of their investigation.

It's actually quite possible to prove a lot here. A ton of this case involves money transfers that will be pretty easy to pin down.

In this instance you already have ultrasounded the eggs and are just waiting to see if it's before or after the due date the chicks come out.

That's not reasonable skepticism, that's a schtick.
Yeah the irony is this is moving at lightning speed and with a ton of transparency, intentionally or not, compared to just about any major investigation I can think of. Every few days there's more and it's still not enough for some people.
I don't understand this. Wanting this to all be swept under the rug and ignored for political reasons is gross regardless if the sentiment is expressed from the right or the left. This shouldn't be partisan.
