Yes I've 100% the game and unlocked the full gallery with the videos.

I would actually say though, it did strike me as slightly misguided for the developer to have a bunch of unlockable bonus videos as part of the default game file in a digital release. Some people might like those extra few hundred megs of Switch internal space freed up instead of videos you would watch once, if you ever unlock them at all.
That's why they are rather compressed/low-fi, there's only about 170 MB worth of video in there. I thought it was worth it because most players would be exposed to a good portion of them, and it is an unusual in-game bonus. 170 MB isn't that much and you can move the game to a SD card eventually. To counterbalance we also have done extra work to reduce the package size while keeping the loading as invisible as possible.
For a comparison point, I have no idea why a game like Ultra Street Fighter 2 on the Switch is 2.7 GB. It sounds like a little lazy but admittedly I haven't played the game yet and maybe they have lots of high-res contents. *EDIT* According to http://gameidealist.com/news/downlo...fighter-ii-final-challengers-nintendo-switch/ the game has a huge gallery (it's saying "1500 illustrations" ?) which would explain it.
I really appreciated this game. Its like Adventure of Link but without the bullshit aspects of it and better combat. No really, the platforming was really solid for an RPG hybrid of its time.
So anyway, how are the other Monster World games? I played Monster Land a couple of days ago and found it a bit unforgiving but still a fun game.
Arcade version is best, and PCE got a great port of that, albeit branded with an anime character. Mark III version at least has a nice FM soundtrack. So yeah, play Monsterland. Technically there has already been other versions but none of them are as good as the SMS game so that should get the same treatment as this.

That is the popular sentiment, but I always thought the arcade version sucked by comparison. It had bigger and better graphics, but the precision of the gameplay suffered and it just didn't have the same sense of discovery.
Sure that is going to be mostly nostalgia talking, but here we all are.
I bought this for Switch last night and played about an hour. I unlocked the Mouse and can't get used to his combat style yet. Seems like a fun game. How long is it exactly? I'm trying to play it alongside a few other games and I want to know what I'm getting myself into.
Just as I said, did my part and immediately rebought this when my Switch arrived today (^____^)
...now I'll actually finish it
Hey all.
Don't mean to hijack the thread, but because of this OT and game, I've been doing a bit of research in the WB series.
Question is, when the hell did this happen?
https://www.playstation.com/en-us/games/wonder-boy-returns-ps4/
This is like the first time I heard about such a thing! So weird to keep it PS4/Steam exclusive...
We had a thread about it. As you can see, it didn't exactly take off.
From memory,Can anyone give me a quick rundown of how to find the secret levels? I'm on a terrible internet connection but have the game with me and really want to play what's left now that I've finished the game. I found the mouses secret level and the humans secret level but I'm assuming there is an area for each monster?
From memory, the Lizard level is in the desert. When going left from the entrance, kill the first monster in the water that spits out the fireballs and go right. The Piranha level is at the beach. On the first screen go into the water and open the hidden door on the top platform. The Lion level is also at the beach. A bit to the right there is a hidden block on the ground between several small pillars with enemies on them. You can't see the block, it's a little difficult to explain, unfortunately. The Hawk level is by the volcano. Just fly to the right. You can access the Human level after finishing the game. In the village just go left into the house next to the mouse blocks.
*nods*Man the credits...
Just 100%ed this on Switch and loved every minute. This is the new standard for 2D remasters and I want this team to do the entire series now.
FUCKIN-A!!!
Probably my favorite remaster ever next to the likes of Bionic Commando ReArmed
PERFECT fusion of art, masterful music and presentation layered on top of the original foundation
Remember: I had not EVER played the Wonderboy series before this came out, so this ain't nostalgia talking

I think I'm almost done? I got 5 charms and. Now I'm trying to figure out what to do next. I foundbought the special swordOtherwise, I'm a bit lost. I farmed the castle for like 10k gold to have a safety net, and now I'm just sort of wandering around trying to figure out the next push.a room in the sky with nothing in it? Is that where I'm supposed to be?

That's in my backlog too. I played it for maybe a half an hour or so the day it came out and then Wonder Boy sucked me in.Did 100% yesterday, 8.16 hours. Absolutely fantastic game, gonna do a second run with wonder girl once i cut down the backlog a bit. Now, to finish Blaster Master Zero.
Try equipping the.magic saber that turns stars into breakable blocks, you'll then find out that that room in the sky is not so empty after all
From the latest Limited Run Games newsletter.I was just browsing Play Asia and noticed they put up a WB:TDT PS4 preorder page with July as a tentative release date: let's hope it's not Asia only, will certainly double dip if this comes out here in Europe, too!
It's pretty much guaranteed to be PS4 only though. We'll find out on Tuesday.
If you actually want the answerThank you! Didn't realize this was my issue!
What do I DO in that room?
Disappointed it is PS4 only but the way they've been wording their replies to physical release questions it was pretty obvious they were going the Limited Run route.
They don't really know how to go about getting it released physically on Switch but with PS4, Limited Run sort it all etc.
I don't want a PS4 copy but I guess I'll try and get one if that's all we're getting. If I miss out there (cause, you know, it's Limited Run) I will try my luck with an Asian copy hopefully.

I need to get back to playing Wonder Boy this weekend, I was relatively far in the game (I think). The last time I played it, I got my ass kicked by theboss. What's the trick to beating him?vampire dragon
Where is theIf you have thejust turn into lion man, use the best equip and you shouldn't have any issue. If you don't have that it's a bit trickier to do with the falcon, he beat my ass a few times as well but once you learn his patterns and get the timing right is doable.tanzanian sword
Where is the? I found an entry about it on IGN's Wiki for the game, but I don't know exactly where the location they mention is.Tasmanian Sword

It's completely hidden. In the underground on your way to the Damyo Temple you'll hit a few screens that split into two paths (top and bottom), with one always leading to a dead-end. In the last dead-end (top) you can hold up in the right place to reveal a door.
I would buy again physical on Switch, but not any disc system.
Limited Run have a bad rep do they?
